Best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. My husband was quite happy with his 2 egg breakfast.

I read all the reviews on Unilocal and decided this was the place to stop for breakfast on our loop from Gilbert, through Payson, down to Superior and home. Man, was I not disappointed. This is the type of mom and pop place I love to frequent on rides. We arrived and were greeted with a sound ‘Hi!’ My riding buddy and I were told we could sit at the counter or wait 10 minutes for a table. We opted for the latter and were told to sign in. Our greeter already signed us in…#2, Bikers :). We stepped outside and about 5 minutes later were told our table was ready. This place is really plain and simple from a décor standpoint but from a food standpoint… WOW! I ordered the Ribeye Steak and eggs, well done steak, well done scrambled eggs, shredded hashbrowns, wheat toast, and hot tea, while my friend ordered the custom omlette with all meat, hashbrowns, biscuts and gravy, and hot tea. When the food arrived, the ham was falling out of my friend’s omlette, which is a good thing… there was a ton of it and the other 2 meats. My meal was unreal. I had some serious doubts I would be able to finish it. We sat there eatting and talking for about 90 minutes. No rush, no compliants and lots of hot water refills for our tea. Even with a 20% tip I felt like I was cheating our server. This was the best breakfast by far from our other stops. If you ride or not, and are passing through Payson, stop here and eat up! You will not be disappointed.

If you are expecting 5 star breakfast/brunch with mimosas and fancifully plated benedicts with exotic ingredients… this ain’t the place for you. If you are expecting high quality diner food with some inventive surprises, satisfying portions, friendly people at a great price… my friends you have found it! Hands down best breakfast in Payson and their lunch options aren’t so bad either. Adult grilled cheese is tasty. But the star of the menu is the rainbow omelette. Comes with hash browns AND your choice of toast or a biscuit and gravy. Get the biscuit and gravy! The hash browns are legit, nice and crispy outside and hot and potatoey inside. The omelette must be at least three eggs. Nothing fancy, just good nice fluffy well cooked omelletes. The rainbow has usual omelette stuff but is topped with pico de gallo, avacado and this amazingly delicious«rainbow sauce» This stuff is crack… so good… literally wnat to put it on everything. Go get breakfast… NOW!

I didn’t eat for two days after visiting the 260 Café. One, because there was so much food, and two it was so good I didn’t want the memories of the flavors to be lost to whatever would be hopelessly inferior at my next meal. Well, maybe not two days but I would have if I could just keep those tastes cemented in my brain housing group. Miss Fitz’s 260 Café is everything you wanted in such a place that carries the café name including the staff. It’s the total package, but let me take a step back first. I drive through Payson from time to time while heading north to The Rim, Flagstaff, or the Natural Bridge. It’s sort of a hub that you have to pass through to many places in the area. So why not grab a bite while there? I have eaten at only a handful of places before. Some good, some bad, but I still wanted that place which would be a hit. Some place I knew I could go every time and not have adventure in my meal during my otherwise adventurous day. This could be it. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a rather brawny Samoan looking fellow carrying massive amounts of food armed with a huge smile. So far so good. He told us we can sit where we like so we chose a booth near a window to soak up the scenery. This being a café at an earlier time in the day, I decided to order something that would tell me everything I would need to know about how this place operated; chicken fried steak, eggs over easy, hash browns, & biscuits and gravy. The place was busy, but just short of people waiting for a table so when the food came out in a very reasonable time, I was a little frightened. Had my food been ready under a heat lamp this whole time? Was this going to be another crossed off restaurant on my Payson list? Negative. Not even close. The smell was outstanding. All the aromas mixed and any reservations I had were quickly extinguished when I cut right into my chicken fried steak with the side of my fork. Who needs a knife when you have food like this? The chicken friend steak was perfectly cooked and breading was just thick enough for flavor and crunch. Dipped into the gravy(of which there was ample amount) I almost shed a tear. Eggs over easy done just right and hash browns golden and plentiful were next. Nail on the head. Back and forth with the not too heavy biscuit smothered in gravy and it was just breakfast bliss. I ate. And ate. And ate until it was almost gone. I sort of regretted eating that much but I knew I would have regretted it more if I hadn’t tried to finish. You choose your battles I suppose. Besides, I was going adventuring through the mountains and needed the energy. Yeah, that’s a pretty good excuse I didn’t just make up. The aforementioned Samoan looking gentleman came back to the table shortly after I threw in the fork to ask how we were doing. After giving the appropriate praise for his fine meal he then proceeded to ridicule me for not finishing. My adventure partner for the day joined him in a good chuckle at my dispense but they are lucky I had just put a hurt on one of the best breakfasts I have had in my adult life because I would have come back with a pretty good and somewhat witty remark. Needless to say, the staff was very pleasant and no drinks ever made it to E. This was a great experience. Miss Fitz’s 260 Café isn’t far off the beaten path at all. It’s café feel is a rustic and cozy experience. The eclectic mix of mismatched tables and chairs at first confused me but I realized this place doesn’t come to wow in the seat, but on the plate. And it did in a big way. I will certainly be coming back to this dining establishment for years to come. Especially if there is a very sarcastic Samoan looking man whipping up wonderful delights like I had that day.

Good simple food, nice authentic atmosphere. Feels like a truly moms and pops shop. Adult grilled cheese is the best

So far the décor is outdated but has that rustic feel as a mom and pop shop. It’s extremely busy and a lot of Chaos running around from the waiters. There was som confusion walking in as to where we sit. They gave us two Booths for our party of 6. We walked to the first booth few of say there and went to sit at the next booth and it was taken by a couple. Our waiter kindly told that couple he saved us that booth. The waiter we have so far has done everything he can to accommodate us. We ended up having a a different server, a lady. The other guy was just a back hand. I ordered the two eggs with ham, biscuit and gravy. The food came out quick and it was delicious. Definitely a homemade meal and better to eat local than at a Denny’s! The prices are very well priced for the amount of food I received. Everyone was pleased with the food and very satisfied. I will be coming back next time I’m I. Town

I came with a party of 6 on Valentine’s morning. Being a Sunday morning and also a holiday, of course it gets pretty busy. The small, local, restaurant was packed inside and out. We walked in and sat outside. The patio seating table wasn’t clean yet and the chairs were dusty. We decided to come inside and ask if there was any open tables and try to find seating. There was two booths open for our party of 6 but another couple beat us to the punch. The server accommodated to our needs and helped our group reserve the table and move the 2 couple to another table for 2. The gesture was kind. Our server was friendly also. I hesitated between the eggs Benedict and the carnitas omelette(just because I wanted avocados) I went with the eggs Benedict anyway just because I wanted poached eggs, more. Our server accommodated my cravings and was able to add avocado to my order. The food– way too delicious! Everyone in my group loved their food. Even the kids who are extremely picky. I would definitely recommend this spot

The breakfast burrito was actually really good! Albeit, a little greasy, but it had everything I was looking for in a good breakfast burrito, and good salsa. Cute small-town diner!

This is by-far the best breakfast/lunch spot in Payson, and the Hawaiian chef working in the back is making concoctions that you have never experienced. The carnitas omelette with the red pepper aioli is amazing, even their calamari salad with wasabi dressing is unlike anything I have ever had. If you have never been here, you have no idea!!!

Am giving Miss Fitz a three star because my husband and I had a good experience and the basic breakfast we had was good. This is a quaint little café in Payson, privately owned. Nothing fancy for sure but the service was nice and efficient. Looked like a locals place which we enjoy. Yes, we would return if back in Payson.

A very unassuming spot located on Highway 260(thus the name). Enter and you’re likely to be greeted with a short, «There are two booths over there. Pick one.» Might not go over well with some, but it’s just fine by me. This day there was an older Native American man selling jewelry inside the entrance. Fun. The café also always has a small bin of etch-a-sketch style toys for the kids to enjoy while waiting. A nice change of pace for any family driving through Payson. They also have a small outdoor patio that is dog friendly, a huge benefit for any dog lover looking for a break from the road. There is plenty of parking in the rear, so don’t be off put if the front lot is filled. The service is quick and the food is solid. We loved both the pumpkin pecan pancakes and the bagel sandwich we ordered on this day. We also ordered some pie to go. All outstanding and very reasonably priced. Coffee is served in huge mugs, is promptly refilled, and is priced at just $ 1.50 a cup. Smiles all around.

Only good things to say about this place! Dog friendly patio. They brought a toy out to keep the toddler at bay. Drinks came promptly. Food was served quickly. Staff was friendly. I had the bleu cheese burger w/fries. Our 10 year old had pancakes. Wife had the BLT w/fries. The toddler ate off everyone’s plates. Smiles all around! We’ll be back!

I’m a big proponent of supporting local businesses, especially in our small towns and rural areas. I’ve wanted to try the 260 café for years — back when it got rave reviews. It seemed every time I came by it was closed. Then it closed for years. I imagine it’s been open as Miss Fitz 260 café for years now, but I just drove on by out of habit. I found myself here early on a Sunday morning, taking a road trip in the pines, and I needed to fuel up. What? 260 café is open? More rave reviews? Well, today is the day. Walked in with wife and kids and they seated us at a booth right next to the kitchen. Prolly not such a good idea, as I got to see how the waittresses worked together. Kudo’s to them, it was busy and they were bangin’ out the meals. Unfortunately, it was somewhat disgusting to watch them pile multiple plates on their arms, impressive in how many they could carry, disgusting in how they stacked plates on top of plates full of food. My Chicken Fried Steak breakfast sat in the window for a good five minutes before anybody touched it, and that was just to move it out of the way so they could reach other plates. My breakfast was just so-so. Instant gravy from a package. CFS from the freezer dropped into the fryer. Hash-browns were an unintentional star, crispy the way that I like them. Eggs were cooked perfectly, but by the time I got them were just barely warm. Daughter had Eggs Benedict, and while she did not complain, the Hollandaise had this weird, almost fluorescent yellow glow — clearly not fresh. My iced tea was not very strong flavored, essentially brown water with lemon juice. I did not get a refill. I’m sorry, 260 Café, you let me down. I do like the patio there, although it was not offered for seating, the bathrooms are quite rustic and the artwork for sale on the walls looks like it came from the local middle-school art class. The food was filling and that’s about the best I can say.

Great little greasy spoon in Payson just minutes from the Matazel casino. We stopped for lunch on a recommendation and I’m so glad we did. I’m sad we were too full to try their pie ! Next time for sure. I had the chicken fried steak with garlic Mashed potatoes & sautéed zucchini & spinach. It came with a bowl of soup which was beef barley today. My mom had a cheeseburger and fries which looked pretty basic but she insisted it was great.
