Very good food, and a smooth delivery operation. That is what I look for in Chinese restaurants that deliver. Buddha’s Tavern has a reasonably priced menu, covering all the essentials you would expect from a similar establishment. Their consistency in their delivery service is what makes this place a go-to. The food comes hot, neat, and they have never messed up my order significantly. Thumbs up and you can feel confident in giving this place a try.

Iam just eating here right now and that’s the worst asian food I ever had. Don’t recommend if you like asian food.

It may be hard to tell from the outside, but the food is excellent. The people there are great too. Order a Mai tai.

Good Chinese food, Can’t say it’s the best around but it is up there… Ownership/staff are great people. I don’t know them personally but they make you feel welcome. Mai Tai’s are really good!

Ive been coming to Buddah’s for years now and Ive never walked out with bad food. Elena, the owner makes a point to remember you, the staff is friendly, the prices are fair for the amount you get. That being said, its not a posh sit down bplace, its a local bar and take out place. You get townies and the keno people all the same. Great food!

Buddhas is the best ever. If you’re looking for generic gross Chinese food like Kowloons, don’t come here. If you’re looking for amazing fresh and REAL Chinese food, come to Buddha’s Tavern. The atmosphere here is amazing and almost everyone who comes in, is a regular. Very attentive and the food will come out quick but not too quick ;) that’s how you know it’s made fresh! The staff is very personable and they make you feel like you’re just hanging out with friends instead of being at some stuffy generic restaurant. Try to Buddhas and you won’t regret it. I promise.

Ordered take out on a whim one night with a group of friends and it turned out to be your average greasy Chinese food… nothing special. The bar looked like it had a good atmosphere to it and the only enjoyable aspect of the 60 dollar takeout order was the crab rangoons.

I tried these guys about a year ago around thanksgiving and boy it was pretty bad. I thought maybe is the holiday and all. It seemed that the same lady that was the cashier was also the cook and maybe the bartender as well. A year went by and forgot the bad experience so I decided to give it shot again and it was still pretty bad. I see some pretty good reviews here but I don’t know if I just had bad luck but I am not going back.

when i think of my trip to peabody, i’ll remember the late-night dart games, chow mein and great cocktails at buddha’s tavern. if stuffing your drunk ass face with chinese food at 11:30 at night is a sinful thing, then i’m going straight to hell.

This is a great neighborhood bar, and if you’re close, wouldn’t hurt to stop in. Nice place to watch a game. The staff was very courteous and quick. Didn’t try the food, but the patrons eating at the bar seemed happy. They are down-sizing, which means they closed off the game room: no more pool table, and(sadly) no darts…

I have never had a bad experience here! The food is really good, the bartenders ROCK and Karaōke on Saturdays make this place a regular haunt for me. They also have darts and a pool table. I recommend the Hot and Sour Soup! The best I have had. See you there!

This was our(bf and I) first time ever ordering delivery Chinese food in Peabody. We Unilocaled our way into ordering for Buddha’s and it did not disappoint. Delivery was quoted at 25 mins which is un heard of from where we previously lived however they arrived in 20 with a piping hot bag of delicious Chinese American comfort grub! Their Pork Fried Rice was incredible, non fatty pork and very little onions just like the BF likes after two heaving plate fulls he sat back on the couch with the box and continued to eat. The Pot Stickers were deliciously filled with that mysterious meat I love(probably not mysterious to most but I have no idea what it is) and the gingery sauce that accompanied them was spot on. The Scallion Pancakes were crunchy, scallion and delicious and served also with that yummy gingery sauce. And lastly the beef terriyaki while a little inconsistent(two pieces were a little tough) was not over powered by the terriyaki sauce yet delicious. Portion were good with the Scallion Pancakes and Pot Stickers coming only in one size which was plenty for two people. The Pork Fried Rice and Beef Terriyaki we ordered larges in which was more than plenty with the Beef coming in with 6 sticks. Price was 30 bucks which is a little pricier than what we use to pay where we previously lived but not terrible. We definitely will be ordering from Buddha’s again we are BIG fans!

My bf lives on the North Shore so we’re constantly looking for cool places to visit. Buddha’s Tavern is one of our new favorite digs. For those of you who have ever been here, you’re probably laughing and think I must be classless. How can a Chinese American gal in her right mind love this Americanized joint? Well, for starters, I have yet to eat here. The boy and I actually stumbled onto this place when we tried to go to the Irish pub on the corner for some beer and darts and realized a. we were too old for that crowd, b. it was too dark to even see each other, and c. the dartboard hanging on the wall was inaccessible because the tables had been pushed against the walls to make room for the dance party that seemed like it was about to start. Disappointed and still on a search for a pool table or darts, Buddha’s Tavern down the street beckoned at us with its neon lights and name. I am Buddhist after all so why not? Upon entering this tavern that was clearly not home to any Buddha my mom prayed to, we were pleasantly surprised to see cheap beer specials, a pool table, AND darts that we could actually get to! A jukebox, video game machines, a waitress who called us «honey,» Keno, Scorpion bowls, and Chinese zodiac paper placemats completed the picture. The boy and I also noticed we were now two of the younger patrons. .. nice! We walked to the side room where the darts and pool table resided and were literally the only two people in the room for almost two hours! There was nobody to bother us and the waitress checked on us quite regularly. It was great because we both suck at darts and played the longest game of darts in Peabody history methinks and nobody cared. The drink tab was ridiculously cheap too. We will definitely be back to try the food and when we feel like having a low-key but fun evening!

sadly the owner has let this place slide downill. food was once great but the lack of customers would make me think twice about freshness of food. the last two times we ate, the food was tasteless and bland and drenched in grease. ordered lo mein and got undercooked spaghetti. i sent it back and they took it off the bill. hearing rumors that they are overcharging for alcohol probably to make up for lack of business.

I LOVEBUDDHA’S!!! And greatly miss them since we have moved to the South Shore. Whether we order take-out or eat-in… it is always hot, yummy, and filling. They have recently revamped the inside and it looks awesome. We have gone to Buddha’s for New Year’s Eve for the last 3 or 4 years. While most places have a wait and a limited menu, Buddha’s has neither. We are always seated once we arrive. And they have a full menu. I want Chinese food now! :(

Parking sucks, the Keno is cold, and we’re sad to see that the booths got tossed from the bar during the renovation. Still, this is the only place we’ll go for Chinese(American) food on the North Shore. For years, it’s been consistently tasty and competently prepared. Recommend the lo mein and pot stickers.

I love this place! Of course it helps when your friend owns the place. But that said it is basically a great sports bar with Chinese food! In fact I’m heading up there tonight(from Framingham) to celebrate my birthday!
