Islander Pest Solutions

Islander Pest Solutions has been sold to Terminix. Ever since this happened the service has taken a SEVERE decline. I previously gave them an awesome review and recommended them to all my friends. Now I’m taking it all back. The technicians who worked for Islander Pest Solutions still work there, but Terminix is even worse to them then they are to us customers so they are also not happy. The owners of Islander Pest didn’t even give the employees notice of the change or possible change. They just told them to show up the next day to Terminix and that they sold the company. Their scheduling is done by computer or by people who don’t know the island and is never accommodating of my schedule anymore. They also changed the pesticides they use and I’ve noticed it is no longer as effective. As fate would have it, the week before the change Terminix came to my door offering me a better deal and promising to take care of all my pest needs. I gladly told them how happy I was with Islander Pest Solutions and cited specific examples of why I didn’t want them. Now I’m a customer of theirs by force… but not for long.

I was surprised to receive an automated recording informing me that Terminix was coming to spray. I assumed it was an error since I don’t use Terminix, I use Islander Pest Solutions. Well, imagine my surprise when my normal technician showed up in a Terminix uniform. Unfortunately, I wasn’t home at the time and my husband spoke to him so I didn’t get a chance to ask what the heck happened. I assume Terminix bought out Islander but I’m unhappy that a) I wasn’t informed and b) I wasn’t given the chance to decline to move to Terminix. Comparing today’s invoice with my last Islander invoice, it doesn’t appear that they are using the same chemicals. I’m giving a 3 star rating for anyone looking for the old company and pending a conversation with someone from the old company and further experience with Terminix. Then, I’ll write a new review for Terminix.

I was looking for someone other than Terminix. I attempted to make contact with this company only to learn Terminix had bought them out.

Three words describe Richard, Jeff and Islander Pest Solutions: PEACE. OF. MIND. Called Richard, left a message. He called back within 15 minutes. He scheduled an inspection within two working days of my call. He was ready to have a technician at our place within two days of the inspection. On the day of the treatment, Jeff was amazing. He spent 3 ½ hours thoroughly treating our two units, one of which was heavily infested with bedbugs. Richard also showed up during the treatment to check on everything and offer additional support. Jeff even called after he had completed treating the units. The next morning Richard called to give me an assessment of the treatment and suggestions to prevent further infestation. One week later, Jeff returned to inspect his work: Treatment complete. You can’t get any more thorough than what they have done and I can’t say enough about Jeff and Richard. At the end of the treatment the only living creatures on our property were humans and a pet dog. I can’t even begin to thank Richard and Jeff for their work. In my opinion you are wasting your time calling anyone other than Islander Pest Solutions, they are professional, knowledgeable and thorough — all of which combined have given me a peace of mind that my loved ones are now living in a clean, sanitary, pest-​free home. I trust them 100% with my family’s health and couldn’t give them a higher recommendation for anyone considering an exterminator.

I agree with the other Unilocaler Pancho! Stop Unilocaling other companies and just call Islander Pest Solutions! Richard is so awesome and professional! I needed to pre-​treat before adding a concrete slab. Spoke withe Richard to do the whole house another day. He did it today, he was so thorough with the termite treatment. I will recommend them to all my family and friends. I couldn’t be more satisfied with their work!

Richard is so awesome! We just bought a house and noticed a lot of roaches especially in the kitchen. Richard came on very short notice and treated the whole house. We still noticed a lot of roaches though so he offered to come back and re-​spray the kitchen! It has made the whole moving in process that much easier knowing that we can depend on such good customer service and quick response. Thank you guys!

Quick response. Quick inspection. Honest assessment. They told me I would need to tent the unit and that they do not tent. Thank you.

Keoki and his staff are outstanding. They are alway professional and trust worthy. I have been with them for a few years and I have never been disappointed. Having children in the home, I was always assured my children’s safety were their priority as well. That makes any mother happy! I highly recommend them!

Kekoi and I used to work together years ago (long before he started Islander), so when my mother-​in-​law (who is blind) had a problem with stinging ants, I called these guys. Our tech is Jeff, and he keeps those jerk ants at bay. This is a challenge, because her house is always cluttered. But, even though I knew Keoki before, I would not have stayed with Islander if the service stank. price was competitive, services are flexible, and they’ve always answered when I called. Solid.

George at Islander Pest Control sent us a thank you note. Honestly, we should be sending THEM a thank you card. Out of three companies, they were the only ones who bothered to come over and provide an estimate. Their prices are very fair. They are professional and treat us like they value our business. They’re very responsive. They’re accommodating (I had a special request they worked around). All around, working with them was great!
While we were with Terminix, I always had this underlying feeling that we were over-​paying. I don’t have that feeling with Islander. I actually feel like I’m really glad to be paying them for what they do. I feel pretty lucky that things worked out the way they did and they’re our termite/​pest control company.

I tried Islander because of all the good reviews on Unilocal,and I wasn’t disappointed. They’re professional (they answer the phone, explain all their services, gave advice about which ones were best for my situation). I signed up my mom for a bi-​monthly service, and they call the day before they go each time to alert me when they will be arriving. They show up on time, are great at the site, and best of all, the service works! Very happy with them.

Spoke to Richard, who set up an appointment for me to have a tech come out later in the week to give me a free estimate. He was actually the one who came by. After accessing the situation, he gave me a written quote on the spot. It was a little high price wise, but I appreciated the quick turnaround.

Okay; this review is meant for people who have roaches, spiders, bedbugs, etc in your home…
I called at least 5 places to get an estimate. 3 called back. 2 gave me unsatisfactory answers to my questions and both felt it was not necessary to visit my home to give me a price… 1 stood out and that was Islander Pest, Mr. Richard Lee.
He answered the phone, answered my questions, scheduled an appointment to visit my home for an esitmate, gave me the estimate while he was there and I accepted his price quote. He then proceeded to get my job done… All within a 4 day time frame.
So, I’m wondering: are they not busy? maybe I’m one of the few clients… or… It turns out I am one of many of their clients. They are busy, but they are service oriented and want to retain the business for future. Great philosophy I’d say.
Their work? EXCELLENT. Mr. Lee came to my home to meet his technician. Talked about the routine with his tech; asked me if I had any other concerns and if not– his tech will start his job… Technician (David) did an excellent job and called me when the job was done. He locked up my home and left me a little note to say «job done, thank you and have a great day…» Now hows that for service?
