Hole in wall. But this place is dope. Screw your customer service rants. Go and eat McDonald’s if u want to complain about service. I’ve never had any issues with this place. They deal with all dumb drunks and young immature kids throughout the night so I don’t see why they have to keep a smile on their face. Their food is ono. Where else can you get a laulau and Filipino food late at night?

This is my first 1*…didn’t want to do this, but I tried this place for the teri meatballs and the result is I simply won’t be back ever… not worth it… thought per some of the previous ratings it would be good… was not even warm, was not good, not sure if this was a one time freak event, regardless… it isn’t convenient for me to try it again… so oh well… this was my experience… my plate didn’t look like the pictures… I guess I should of taken a picture to post… next time I have a bad experience I will…

I visited this place last night and boy oh boy! I knew they were transitioning into new owners because I used to go when the old owners was still there. Portion size, quality and customer service went down hill big time! I was trying to pay separate, I made it clear the the non smiling lady told me to pay together. She was just so lazy to redo the transaction. Then when I went to get change she said, oh we don’t have change! WTF! Don’t even dare to attempt to go here. Many, many years ago it was really good. Food sucks, service sucks, and the portion is so tiny! 8 pieces of meat ball for a mixed plate! SOGREEDY!

The food is decent use to be a lot better, but they take really long to take your order… I was waiting in line for 20 mins, and it was only 4 people in front of me… hmm. Maybe need quicker workers.

For those late drunken nights or for the people that are up late like me. Quality food, great taste. I love going their. I can never decide on one thing that’s why I always get the combo. I aware one plate can feed 2 people. Love the food, great hours, and fast service. In fact I’m on my way their now lol.

I can’t help it, I’m a die-hard fan of Miki’s as I’ve been coming here since a little kid(over 10 years)! Yes, the management changed; yes, «Mama» is not there anymore; yes, the prices increased; yes, they now charge for pickled onions… but all these things haven’t changed the fact that this place is a dependable hole-in-the-wall local joint that has good local food at late night hours when you are tired of Zippy’s and Anna Millers. My favorites are teri meatballs, shoyu ahi, and pasteles. The mac salad is ono and unhealthy, and the pickled onions are worth buying(even if us old timers say it used to be free/unlimited). No healthy options here, either rice & mac salad or all rice. Portions are pretty big, I always get the mini and am stuffed. Parking is on the street, so be aware of your surroundings late at night(sometimes you’ll get some random people just roaming around). Only two small benches available to sit, so I usually just grab my plate to go(as well as pick up a slurpee at 7 – 11 on the way home)! Nothing beats grabbing a local plate lunch after a late night out and grinding with your friends. Great place to come for late night/early morning plate lunch and if you live on this side of town, not somewhere you go out of your way for a sit-down family dinner(this place is literally a small shack with one take-out window). But thank you Miki’s for sticking it through, all these years! I always come back.

Man, some of the best lunch plates I have ever ate was from this place. Great spot to pick up some grinds when it’s late and you’re starving. The prices are nice for the portions they give and the food comes out fast which is always a pleasant surprise when you took so long deciding on which combo you want. Try the pasteles and Lau Lau, or the Teri meatballs. Mmmmmm, just thinking about it is making me drool. Why 4 stars? At times, the customer service can be lacking and wrong orders are not handled well. Beside that, I often look at the clock and wish it was later so Miki’s would be open. Lol

This place used to be better… back in the day. I think the food is still the same, but even though prices all over Hawaii have gone up, the last time I went to get a pastele/lau lau plate I thought it was just a bit expensive especially for the type of establishment that they are. The drinks are pretty expensive too. My favorites here are the pastele, lau lau, roast pork, and bbq chicken. I’m glad the taste has not changed in the what, 11 years I have been coming to this place. I love the pickled onion here too, but wish that«mama» was still around to make it. It’s just not the same anymore. Ten years ago when I was young and free, I loved the hours of operation here. Now that I am old and have a small baby, I’m usually in bed when they finally open! Nonetheless, if I was ever up and about when they are open I would definitely check them out. Especially on Friday nights for my pastele/lau lau plate!

If you are hungry at 11:30 in the evening and have nowhere to go, this is the place for you. My favorites are their pork adobo, teri meatballs and mac salad. I just get the mini plate as its really packed and full. Try this humble place out, you will always get a good deal here.

I don’t have much to say, other than I love their Lau Lau plate! I’ve been coming here with my bf for a couple of years now and only really tried the meatballs and chicken cutlet. Because of this, I didn’t really care too much for the place overall. I judged it based on these two dishes that I didn’t like all that much. Came here late on a Saturday at like, 2:45AM(well, I guess it was a Sunday then). I decided to get a mini Lau Lau plate and I’m so glad I did, because it was SOOOO good. It was pretty big for a mini, which is always nice lol. My bf got the pork adobo, and to my pleasant surprise it was pretty good too. Not your typical adobo but still good. Our group was lucky to snag the table. Only half of it is covered by the building, so if it’s raining you’re out of luck lol. I’m glad I tried something new because it changed my opinion on this place. Teri meatballs were just not cutting it for me. Only thing that bothers me is the sanitary issues. You can’t really expect much out of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant like this, so I find it best to just not look past the workers into the depths of the kitchen & push those thoughts to the back of my mind. Out of sight out of mind! Lol.

Miki’s is the epitome of midnight munchies. How much better can it get; a satisfying plate lunch at the middle of the night without having your wallet weeping on the sides. I love their portions and I can never fully finish it so there’s always enough for a meal the next day. My personal faves? The Laulau and the Meatballs. I was pleasantly surprised because it’s usually teriyaki flavored but the one time I went last week, they had gravy! I enjoy both but I love gravy with my meatballs so that made me even happier. I’ve tried a couple of other things and although they were great, I stick to what I love best. It’s the epitome of hole in a wall, and there is limited seating so it’s probably best to eat in the comforts of your own home. Recommend it, try it and see it for yourself!

Miki’s not the same as before. Management changed, and so did the food. Before the change in management, I would look forward to Monday nights because it was teri meatball nights. Now, the meatballs don’t even come close to how they used to taste. I rarely eat here now, but when I do, I usually just get the laulau plate. The laulau is not too bad, and it’s pretty big. Price isn’t too bad either especially for the portions given. I always have to share a plate with someone. Hours are great for those who crave local food during the wee hours of the morning.

Perfect place to grab a late night bite, but if you’re looking for a place with good customer service you won’t find it here except for a young lady who usually is working there when I go, she is the nicest. Tonight however, when I got there; I was not greeted. I ordered my food and still not the slightest smile from this older lady. Got my food and she sort of just dropped it on the counter and walked away without even saying thank you or anything. She then went right back to her conversation with two other workers and glaring back and forth while I was eating my food. Way to make people feel like they shouldn’t be there!

I FINALLY got to get my hands on some Miki’s! This is definitely a little hole-in-the-wall local late-night hangout. Unfortunately, I have succumbed to the ways of the 9 – 5 M-F lifestyle and am apparently an old woman living in a 24 year old’s body… so I go to bed long before my dinnertime, long before they open. I’m still not quite sure what their hours are. I’ve seen 9 pm-3 am, this is my best guess — but I’ve driven by on my way to work sometimes at like 5:30 am and have seen their open sign still on. So I’m not really sure. My ability to finally write this review all began when I returned home from bowels of traffic hell that is Kam Highway. I passed Miki’s on my way, saw that the lights were on and the neon«Open» sign was lit. Almost immediately upon my arrival home, I was so exasperated from the rail traffic that I needed a drink(or two. or three.) This was at 9:30 pm. I hadn’t eaten anything since 3:30 pm earlier that afternoon, so the alcohol hit me pretty quickly. Next thing I knew, it was 10 pm, and I was starving. Not a chance in hell that I was going to cook, and I didn’t want to travel far and get stuck in traffic all over again. Suddenly, it hit me — «THATPLACEWITHWEIRDHOURSISOPEN!» and not but a few minutes later, we were headed off towards Miki’s. I must have sub-consciously planned this perfectly — getting drunk on a Friday night — as Miki’s has pastele plates on Fridays. YUM. What I wanted was a no-brainer. We didn’t hang around, just got our food and left. The pastele was good, probably one of the better ones that I have had on the island. Their mac salad was also good. The rice was, well, just rice — it was a little weird though, because the top seemed crunchy and dried out, so I picked around it to get the softer bits. I don’t usually eat all of my rice anyways so I didn’t really care. I would definitely return… I just wish that this was the sort of place I could stop off and grab dinner on the way home at like 5 pm instead of having to wait until one of those rare weekends that I’m up really late and hungry simultaneously… that rarely happens unless alcohol is involved, and I don’t drink much anymore… so sadly, my trips to Miki’s may be few and far between.

Let’s be honest, if I’m eating at miki’s, I’m not expecting a gourmet meal. I’m not expecting that they get my order exactly right. I’m not even expecting to escape without a stomach ache. But, if it’s late and I’m drunk OMG there is no better place. The food is hit or miss. I haven’t found a pattern to predict when the food will be good. Reliably ok food: pork guisantes, adobo, lau lau, teri meatballs, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and pickled onions. Avoid: beef stew(tough), pasteles(salty) Summary: Temper your expectations! This food isn’t great… But it’s open when hardly anywhere else is open, the portions are large, and it’s fairly cheap.

I used to frequent here almost every other day a few years back. It was really, really good! Then, life happened. I got busy and it was only until a few days ago that I went back. The service is still very homelike, it’s comfy in that sense. But the food.*sigh* the food. I ordered a pastele/beef curry mix. Jeff had the guisantes and my sister had the teri meatballs. The teri meatballs tastes the same, probably because it’s already premade lol. The guisantes and the beef curry had hard pieces of meat and you could tell it was kinda rushed. The pastele isn’t as hearty as I remember it to be. I used to like it because it was cheap. While it is still relatively cheap, you’re ultimately getting what you pay for :\ Maybe I’ll come back around sometime. For now, I don’t know. It’s cash only! They don’t take bills larger than a 20.

I have been here so many times and all i have to say about miki’s, it’s THE best late night spot to get your eat on! Just got done working out at the gym? mikis! Just got done playing cosmic bowling? mikis! Im a sucker for their teri meatball plate. and although i do like their pastele, lau lau and hamburger steak plates, i find myself ordering the teri meatballs over and over again.
