I have been going to Altered Images for thirty years. I was one of the first group of clients. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. We have moved 55 miles away. I tried three other salons in our new area(and there are many). No place suits me. So I drive all the way back to Friendswood. When I go to Altered Images, I know that my hair will look exactly the way I want it. Far more than that, though, is the fact that EVERY client is treated as someone special, and there is a collegiality and warmth among all the stylists that extends to the clients. I’ve never felt as though I were«just a customer.» It’s always been a place I’ve felt welcomed and comfortable. AND they are master stylists, always attending conferences to keep up with changing trends, never same-old, same-old routine here! Best color salon and day spa EVER!!!

I’ve been coming to Altered Images for more than 10 years and have used the same stylist… I have never been dissatisfied with the service nor my cut/color/style. Michelle G. is absolutely amazing and a sweetheart! Everyone at the salon goes out of their way to pamper — from offering wine and snacks to complimentary services. This is not a «run of the mill» salon… It’s top notch and they always ensure your satisfaction with the service! Oh, they also have contests for free products, offer loyalty points and have customer appreciation events– gotta love that!

Just sad that Sara moved to Cali. Started going here for 3 years when we moved to Friendswood! I enjoy going, and I bring my mother with Alzheimer’s… Always super patient with her!

Very pleased with Altered Images staff and atmosphere. I’m very glad that Rochelle is my stylist. She is very acknowledged, professional, kind and personable.

I came here I while back but tried to give the place a chance to redeem themselves. I’ll start with I was going to a ball and wanted to get my hair done/styled. My bf looked up a place and they had an opening at 12:45 for me. My sister drove me there with her infant. We got there at 12:30. At 12:50 I asked what was going on? I was told the girl before me added a few extra things for my stylist to do but will be another 10mins that’s it. Then 1:00… Still nothing. I ended up telling my sister it was OK to head out because I’d be waiting a while and she needed to go pick up her older child. Ended up waiting an hour and a half! Only offered free eyebrow wax, when I told them I didn’t wax my eye brows they didn’t offer me anything else. They just said my stylist was curling the previous girls hair and that’s not how it works. They said they would notify the store owner who would contact me. They gave me a measly 20% off and that’s it. I had to contact them to talk to someone there. I had to be the one to pry an apology out of them. I was told I would be receiving a gift card in the mail as a chance for them to redeem themselves. The manager was about to hang up when I pointed out they didn’t even have my address, nor were they going to ask for it. I gave it to them and still have received nothing. This is pathetic. Like I said this was a while back. January 31st to be exact. I think it’s bad work ethic and horrible integrity to say you’re going to do something and then not. Horrible.

Why is this place rated so low? I don’t get it! I thought it was a really nice salon. The gift area out front isn’t cheap or cheesy– it has some nice jewelry and cosmetics. Some nice things to browse through as you wait, nothing that gives a thrift store feeling. The salon itself is cute and well decorated. Lisa cut my hair and I was happy with what she did. She discussed what she thought would look good before she cut, and she took her time without taking forever. I was happy with the cut. Thanks lisa! This is a great choice for a haircut and I would recommend it.

I’ve thought long and hard about writing this review. Honesty is the best policy, even it stings. I used to frequent this business for haircuts and then just pedicures. Now I don’t go anymore. When you walk in, you are hit with a bevy of cheap and rather ridiculous merchandise that has nothing to do with hair. Am I in a thrift store or a salon? Yes, they have hair products, but it appears as if they are an afterthought. There’s random crap like perfume, purses and god awful dresses. I was told that it was a «boutique» but that word doesn’t even exist in the title of the business. What’s worse is that all of that crap takes up SOMUCH space that there is little room to sit(two chairs off the side that are faded and have seen better days). I don’t know what happened, but it seems like selling these«goods» is a desperate attempt to compensate for a deficiency. If you go to a salon, you want them to do great hair and provide great spa services. If they were doing these two things well, then they wouldn’t have to sell stuff«Made in China» as a crutch. I honestly think that the boutique is tacky and should have it’s own store front(if that’s what the owner wants to do). I would LOVE to hear what Tabatha Coffey would say about this place. Nevermind, I CAN imagine what she would say.
