So here’s what happened: I thought I’d be all smooth and efficient by booking my room on my handy-dandy phone app instead of bothering my admin with the task. Imagine my surprise when I show up and find out I booked a SMOKING room. OMG. Why do hotels even offer this option anymore?! And to make matters worse, there were no other rooms available. So I take my key from the apologetic and super kind woman at the check-in desk thinking maybe it won’t be that bad. I opened the door to a room that smelled like an ashtray. FML. I actually considered leaving my door wide open as I went to dinner to see if it’d air out. On my way past the front desk, I pleaded with the desk manager to snag me any room that doesn’t get filled. Upon returning from dinner, I was greeted by a new front desk manager, so I re-explained my plight and she broke the bad news that they had checked-in full for the evening. Commence lots of face-palming and consideration of sleeping in the lobby. The woman behind the desk turned away, went into a cabinet, and returned to hand me a bottle of Febreeze. Ha! It worked only barely, but frankly, I have to hand it to her — she tried. Suffice it to say, I had probably the worst night of sleep in my entire life. But due to my own mistake. Otherwise, the hotel and room was clean(well, as clean as a smoking room can feel), the AC wasn’t bothersome, and the free breakfast was solid. Lesson learned: I should no longer book my own travel and should leave it to my admin. :-)

Nice hotel. Comfy bed and great pillows. Did not partake the breakfast but it looked good. Stayed just one night but would recommend.

This was our first time staying at Hampton Inn but it was a wonderful choice. Breakfast was great, the beds were wonderful, and the rooms were very nice. The only downside was that they did not have a separate business center for using the computer. There is one that is out in the open, though. There are lots of restaurants and stores in the area around the hotel if you need to get a bite to eat. Would stay again!

Updating to 3 stars because the non-smoking/smoking issue turned out to be an issue with my travel agent’s reservation system. Staff was apologetic and the General Manager was helpful in tracking down the issue. This hotel met my expectations for a Hampton :)

On the positive side: friendly staff & lots of shopping & restaurants within a few miles On the negative side: mold in bathroom & took almost an hour to get to medical center in traffic Next visit I will book into one of the hotels closer to highway that were same price. Hotel seems to cater to corporate accounts – Many of guests were workmen in matching coveralls or polo shirts w/logos.

The front desk clerk, Ahmad was really nice. Diana, the complimentary breakfast attendant was also extremely nice and seemed to know a lot about the area. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

I always stay at Hamptons when I can… and I look them up first to see if they are new style or upgraded. This one is new, great service, even though this is second choice next to the one on Airport by Hobby– but close enough. Clean, great wifi reception in the rooms. Comfortable. Now thinking about staying here more often. Some good food around if you look right?

Not bad. Not bad at all. I always get nervous when I’m staying at hotels in smaller towns — you just never know what you’re going to find. But the Hampton Inn — Pearland is very clean and seems new. Service is cheerful. The bed was comfortable and the room came with a little cushioned lap desk so you could work while sitting in said bed. The curtain rod for the shower was slightly curved so the curtain doesn’t try to glom onto you while you’re in there, a touch I always appreciate. Free wi-fi(yay!), free hot breakfast until 10 a.m.(fresh fruit, several kinds of cereal and juice, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, bagels, coffee and a selection of teas, oatmeal, and probably other things that I missed). Free, fresh-baked cookies in the evening. Business center and workout room(it only has three machines, but my experience with working out in hotels is that three machines is plenty). My room even had a refrigerator and a microwave. They have a conference room that you can rent, as well. I needed it for some business while I was there, and it was set up when I arrived and included coffee/water service and a big plate of those fresh cookies. Nice touch. If I return to Pearland, I’d definitely stay here again.
