I got my first tattoo here and she was very nice and informative! It looks great I would recommend it for some basic and simple ink.

I just went to get my first tattoo there and I was worried because there was such a poor review on here. But hey. It’s close. And then I went inside and the girl there was so warm and welcoming that I immediately stopped worrying. Her name is Tatiana(she says her artist name is Taco.) She was wonderful. Since it was my first tattoo, I was nervous but she talked about how it isn’t that bad and she was right. So I highly recommend it and will definitely be going back.

Let me preface this review by stating that I understand one often needs more than a single visit to a business before making disparaging remarks but in this tattoo parlor’s case, I have a feeling that my visits interaction was business as usual for them. I stopped by Sin on Skin as it’s near my home(but safely far enough away to make me feel like I live in a safe middle class neighborhood) in the late afternoon of midweek, total dead time for needle related businesses. The artists were sitting about chatting as expected yet I wasn’t greeted upon entering and felt like I was being intrusive. Yeah yeah, I understand how the mask of disaffected coolness has to be displayed but tattooing & piercing isn’t a cheap foray so I’d expect a level of positive attitude toward the person who was about to drop some bucks toward a painful and irreversible procedure. I was looking for a specific piece of body jewelry for a, uh, *new friend* and asked if they had it available. One of the dudes never took his feet off the desk(ew!) or turned his face more than ¾ toward me when he spoke. The guy who bothered to get up and look for the jewelry said it’s an uncommon size and one suggested that I bend a straight barbell using pliers. Pardon me, but this is going in a very specific and delicate body part and«just bend it yourself» is not the DIY body mod that my friend was considering. When I mentioned this, one of the guys mockingly suggested that I try Hot Topic.(Which I did and the staff there was incredibly friendly and knew a bit about piercings, FYI.) Most businesses in such niche markets as body modification will refer you somewhere else or offer to order something. These guys just made me feel like I shouldn’t even be asking for the item, as in who the heck was I anyway? I was able to order a custom piece from Taurian over off Nance, who were VERY professional and approachable even though they suspend themselves by their piercings in an awesome spectacle known as CORE. Sorry SOS tattoos & piercings of Pearland, but Taurian has you beat in both coolness factor, service and product. Even if calling them surly is just a product of my disliking their service at SOS, I have to add that my *new friend* said that bending a barbell would cause tiny cracks and rough surfaces that would irritate the piercing and could cause rejection, something the SOS staff failed to mention. Who’s the dummy now? Soaring review of taurian to follow. Keep those painful pleasure holes happy, avoid know it all shops!
