As of 28 January 2016, I can confirm the business is no longer here. It’s been replaced by a Georgia’s Catfish Kitchen. Very sad. This was my favorite taco place. Anyone know if they’ve closed permanently or just moved to a new location?

Bought a Unilocal deal and the employees wouldn’t honor it. Had to argue with them for 20 minutes before they agreed. It was embarrassing and I won’t go back. Food was just OK.

Best Caribbean jerk chicken taco ever! High-quality, homemade, clean. They do not serve any type of alcohol but you can bring your own and there is no cork fee. If you have not given them a try, do so you will not be disappointed! I will definitely be back soon

The Tacos here are okay. We came during a Friday and ordered chips and guac. The guac was brown and not very good. Will maybe return. Definitely not as good as Torchy’s.

Came here after work for some breakfast tacos. It was my first time here, but I have driven by the place several times. I say it is well worth trying and the tacos are pretty good! I can see why people compare it to Torchy’s.The décor, the menu and everything else is hip and trendy which I like. If you are trying to compare this place, it will be a lopsided win for Torchy’s. This is a review of my experience of the place, and not a comparison to another establishment. Also, I can only comment on the breakfast tacos since that’s what we were there for. It was not very busy when we got there, and we were greeted by friendly staff at the counter. I asked her for suggestions on what to get and she pretty much took time to explain the menu to me. I opted for the Old Betsy and the Royal Flush. Both were good and filling, but I like the Old Betsy a lot. There were actually a lot of items in the tacos that it was overflowing a little bit. I won’t complain on that. At least they are not under-serving me with food. You can always grab a fork and shove some stuff in your mouth before you hold your taco the way it should be eaten. I will say this: it’s not the best breakfast tacos I have ever had but theirs are pretty good. I can see myself coming here again after a long busy night at work to enjoy the warm embrace of Old Betsy. BTdubs, they have that fancy coke machine with five billion flavors, and they had wine on the wall which makes me assume they serve it. I will find out next time!

Awesome tacos. The Caribbean chicken, Maverick fish, and even just the fajita beef varieties are great. Their black beans and rice are great too. Even the queso doesn’t disappoint. Service is always friendly and prompt. On certain days they offer combo deals w/rice and beans which knock the price down considerably.

Great food and great service. This has become a family favorite and we stop in regularly for tacos. Call ahead for take out is great too.

Reminds me of street tacos. The Barbacoa was good but not very hot but the taco had just the right amount of cilantro and onions that made it seem like street taco authentic. The Ross Perot was messy but was very filling. The queso was good but not very hot(check that temp!). And the chips taste store-bought, but they aren’t overly salty which is good. Overall I liked it but I think they need to increase the temp on the food. The guy behind the counter was very helpful as this was my first time there. I’ll go again cause the place looks cool and is BYOB and the food is pretty good.

Can you say«NACHOS»? I can’t check out the rest of the menu because their nachos are so good! That said, my husband has tried a number of items and always been happy. Great atmosphere.

GOFORTHETACOS! This place is great break from the norm, a good substitute for Torchy’s. While I don’t recommend the enchiladas, the street style tacos are unique and tasty. I love the Carol Burnett and Ross Perot. I can definitely see how someone would be thrown off by the food, but come in with an open mind and a strong appetite and you will be pleasantly surprised.

We’ve been here multiple times, and have found that about 50% of the time, you’ll have a bad experience. Today I stopped to pick up five tacos to go. They lost my order, and while I watched the restaurant clear out and people leave who arrived after me, they finally acknowledged that my order may be missing. I ordered at 12:47PM and received my five tacos at 1:19PM. I made the four minute drive home to find that three of them were room temperature and two were actually hot. Obviously they thought it was ok to give me three tacos that had been sitting on the counter getting cold. Additionally, they used avocado that was not ready to be eaten. This place has potential, but the service definitely leaves much to be desired and more training is needed.

I had dinner here last week and was a bit disappointed. The beef fajita meat was bland and I asked for no beans on my to go order and when I got home there were BEANS. :-( Decided to try their breakfast today. Got the Betsy Ross that’s sort of migas in a soft taco. It was pretty tasty. The salsa added a nice kick. Will definitely come back for breakfast.

I have to edit my review. Over the past year the quality has gone down. This is not the same place. The brisket used to be so good and now it is pretty bad. The overall flavor of the food is weaker. Cheaper ingredients? Not sure. It was 4 stars but I have to knock it down a notch to THREE, — — — — — — — — - PREVIOUSREVIEW — I eat here at least 2 – 3 days a week. That is how much I like this place. I see reviews where people say the food is not that good, I guess they must have had a cold when they ate here or they are just mean. The food is awesome. I rarely give 5 stars and I really want to but I just don’t their tea. That is the one criticism I have. You go all out making delicious tacos… then you should go all out and make awesome tea. I just get water when I go there. My opinion. Maybe I am just mean too. Service is always spot on too. It is never slow and the staff is always very nice to me.

Never wanted to try this place out but one day I was doing some shopping next door and decided to give it a chance. The place looks like a BBQ restaurant on the inside and has that old timer feel. The staff seems to be pretty nice and the food came out pretty quick. My first reaction was«wow that’s alot» and the employee said everybody reacts like that. I was a little skeptical about buying $ 11 pork nachos but I felt better after seeing my plate. The meat was piled high as hell and it reminded me of man vs Food. There was a zesty sauce hidden in the middle that really set off the dish. I didn’t get to finish the whole plate but next time I’ll go with a bigger appetite since I know what to expect.

This place had the worst food I’ve ever eaten… food was not well prepared and is the exact opposite of tasty… soda machine was not stocked… While the service was nice I don’t think that is enough to make me come back.

Ordered the«Ross Perot» taco and it was amazing. Pulled pork, cilantro, grilled jalapeño, mango. The entire menu looked delicious. They are open for breakfast also!

Food is pretty good. However, I’ve been 4 times and never had a positive experience with customer service. Also, when you’ve discontinues items from your menu it’s time to do a re-print! Or at least mark through… Hire people who care about people and have friendly, welcoming personalities, not zombie-like button pushers… I don’t think anyone here knows how to smile… Customer service makes it or breaks it for me.

Food was ok. Definitely not Torchys, but a decent attempt. Girl at the counter seemed completely disinterested in her job or any of the guests, somewhat snarky. The AC was out so drinks were complimentary but still made for a lackluster experience. What I assume to be the manager came by and apologized for the AC but even he seemed very young and inexperienced. Food — 3 Service — 1 Atmosphere — 3 Value — 2 Nothing special, I would much rather make the drive to Torchys or just hit up the Taco Bell a block down the road.

This was a borderline 3.5 stars for me. Service was lame. At almost $ 15 bucks for 3 tacos and some beans I felt like it was a little overpriced. The menu listed $ 2.50 for a side of pico de gallo and almost $ 4 a taco.. . come on now. I will go back to try it again, but I want to study the menu further and will order completely differently now that I have a better idea what to expect. I will check out the one in Deer Park next time as BF loves breakfast tacos. Maybe they will be more exciting.. . This is SONOTTORCHY’S TACOS guys. It’s trying really hard with the cutesy names and dips and such,(I can see why people are reminded of TT) but it doesn’t quite hit the mark and there’s not much to make it stand out and be special in its own right. I ordered the Maui, Sissy Spacek, and Ross Perot on corn with a side of black beans. Maui was good, if you like swai fish.. . the salsa was nice and spicy, but I couldn’t see or taste any blackening seasoning on the fish, blah. The little mango bits were a turn off, but easy enough to flick to the side. I didn’t use the creamy chipotle sauce that came with, but it tasted alright if you’re into that sort of thing. Sissy Spacek, if memory serves, was the pork with tomatillo salsa. Nothing life changing here, the meat was tough and the salsa wasn’t as flavorful as I had hoped for but it was not the worst I’ve ever had, by any means. The Ross Perot was my favorite, greasy salty carnitas with onions and cilantro and a spicy salsa on the side. I will get this one again if I come back, mos def. The black beans were refried: lackluster, uninspired and disappointing.
