The Little Gym of Pearland

Love the little gym. The kids always have fun, and it teaches without being too strict. There are classes for every age, even really little ones. They have other programs also. They do parties and I’ve attended a few but haven’t hosted one myself there. They have parents night where you drop off your kid for a few hours, which is just brilliant.

I was invited here to celebrate one of my close friend’s little boy’s first birthday party. The invitation clearly stated that everyone bring socks to wear, but I just thought that was for the kids in attendance. Turns out, to get inside the little gym, you have to wear socks. Since I wanted to take pictures of the event, I decided to pull my boots off and walk around in my socks. I was well prepared and wore two pair since I didn’t know if the Houston weather was going to throw another tantrum and turn cold again! When I entered and saw the facility and experienced the activities that the instructors were giving the kids and the kid at hearts, all I could think was, «This is so cool! I wish I would have thought of something like this!» It’s waaaaaaaaaaay better than Chuck-​E-​Cheese any day of the week. Very kinesthetic and interactive! Maybe because of the intimacy of truly having the space for you and your guests without the hassle of cleaning up twice for them made it special as well, but I respect the concept of kids doing something different other than sitting in front of a screen or eating their life away with expensive junk food!
There are two sections to the facility-​the gym and the lobby which leads into the nd the «special room» area which ended up being quite tight and small for the approximately 20 guests that came to the party. My friend and her husband opted to bring their own food which was delicious, but barely had space on the counter at all and all they had was a platter of chicken salad sandwiches, a Chick-​Fil-​a nugget tray, a crockpot of chile con queso and tortilla chips. Add a container of lemonade and we all two stepped around each other for 30 minutes or so trying to fix kids’ plates, seat them, sing happy birthday to the birthday boy, pass out cupcakes, and pack up. Why 30 minutes? The party times run for an hour and a half. The first hour is spent in the gym and the rest of the time is spent in the special room. To me, it only leaves you time to cut and eat a cake and take pictures. There’s just not enough room and time for food with this setup. The party brochure I picked up gives limitations of up to 14 kids for some of the packages, but my friend didn’t have anything near 14 kids at the party and all the adults had to stand up or stay in the lobby area to keep congestion down in the «special room.» Plus, there is only one restroom in the facility. It’s just not logistically and rationally feasible to have one restroom for a room full of kids!
A little info about this place: The brochure I picked up states that you can customize your party, which includes themed evites, paper goods, decorations, and in some cases party favors. My friends had the minion theme for their party, so The Little Gym (TLG) had a bunch of yellow minion cups filled with cheddar and caramel popcorn. It wasn’t stall and very fresh. According to the brochure, the party favors costs more, but my friends also gave away their own yellow minion bags as party favors, so it must not have cost too much more. A nice and yummy memento for the occasion. The team members and instructors were very friendly and patient as well, especially with us trying to get our things and leave the premises before the next party started, which was at 4:30. Around 4:15, the next guests did show up, so we couldn’t doddle and post up as long as we desired. Another thing is that the parties are held on the weekends: Saturdays and Sundays and party prices have member and non member rates amongst other prices that you can check out online or call about. Nonetheless, I can see how this was a less stress to plan and organize and worth the money to not setup and clean up for my friends. The Little Gym just needs to grow into a Spacious Gym to be more accommodating to its guests.

Our 3 year old loves everything about this place and his once-​a-​week classes. The teachers are very sweet and the staff is really helpful as far as helping you figure out which class might be best of your little one (s).
Classes start on time, which is great. We’re big fans.
Also, we had his last birthday party here and it turned out great. They entertained all the kids while all the parents rested/​talked between ourselves behind the glass. It was great. We brought food and desserts, which the staff served at the end of the gym time. Nice and easy for us (the parents). Highly recommend having the birthday services at TLG.

Had our daughters birthday party here. It was definitely worth it! The staff were friendly and genuinely cared to do what they can to ensure a great time for everyone, especially the kids. The party was two hours, the first 90 minutes were spent with the kids playing in the gym with music and two staff members instructing /​interacting with them through various games. The last 30 minutes were spent in the party room where the kids ate cake and the birthday girl opened presents. After the party finished the staff even loaded all the presents up for us. It was a wonderful experience to have our kids 2^nd birthday here.

We just had our daughter’s 3^rd birthday party here and it was wonderful! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience :) ALL of the children had an absolute blast, the activities were well planned, unique and fun for all ages… the employees took care of everything– including help setting up, serving & clean up. I’m sure we’ll be back before too long because now all of her little friends want to have their parties here, too!

Signed up for 5 classes through Groupon. Attended the introduction with my daughter and she really enjoyed herself. The instructors are awesome! This is a parent guided tutorial which allows you to interact with your child as you progress through each training station.
Also which I thought was an excellent concept, they offer this thing called Parent Survival Night (PSN) where you drop your child off friday evening around 6pm and pick them back up at 10pm. Your child must be potty trained though. Gives you an opportunity to have a date night while your child is entertained.

I am so thankful for The Little Gym. My son and I are having so much fun learning while playing. I was not sure of what to expect. While here only two weeks I am understanding how to better communicate with my 11 month old son.

Just attended or free class. My son is 9 months and we went to the level 2 as per age group recommendations. The girl was great and very enthusiastic with all the babies. The level 2 class was pretty slow for my son. He stated really walking about a week before this class and the activities were more directed for kids who aren’t walking. I was told after the class that we should try the level 3 to see if that works better for us. The gym seemed clean and there were enough options for play items to keep my son’s eyes wide open. I would like to see what free gym is like too. I think the prices are GREAT especially for the summer deal if unlimited classes.

Miss Cathy and staff are great. I especially LOVE the birthday parties and Parents Night Out!

Two stars for lack of communication.
First experience tried to sign up for first visit to particular age class via their calendar on the website. I then received a call saying there was no interest so that’s no longer a class and I’d have to wait until my kid is older. Well then take it down off the website?!? The second time I called and left a message. Guess they don’t want business. We are happy at little gym missouri city instead.

Our kids have been going here for a few years. We love the staff! Ms. Cathy, Ms. Brittany, they’re all great and do greet each child by name. It’s true, they aren’t open 24 hours a day, but we have had a birthday party here, too, and the kids have a great time! Neither of my kids are gymnastically inclined, but we go to get their wiggles out and work on balance and coordination. It is a fun, positive place to bring your kids for a little exercise.

We just had a birthday party there, the staff isn’t very good at returning calls. We are not gym members and they assumed we would know the normal schedule of this location. Sundays are party days only, and they opened only half an hour before the party. When we booked the party we were told that we could drop off party things before the party, including the day before as long as there wasn’t a party ongoing. After leaving several messages, we never received a call to let us know when we could come by. It contributed to a very rushed party prep, we didn’t get to decorate the room at all. Their party décor consists of a few stick balloon arrangements only, not what we are told when we booked at all. Very disappointed.

Miss Cathy and staff are fabulous! They know all the children by name and treat them as their very own.
We were looking for a program that was fun, educational, and would help prepare my children for school. We found all of that here! I highly recommend this place.
