Tim Herschbach Fine Art Photography

Great works of art! Tim takes great pride in his work and it shows. To me the photos on canvas really capture a place, especially with the clouds. I really connected with Tim’s work as these are places I have camped at as a kid and last year hiked the Guadalupe Mnts. I get Tim’s monthly newsletters for his latest exhibits and to see his new works.

I discovered Tim Herschbach photography while attending an art show at Discovery Green in downtown Houston a few weekends ago. His strikingly dramatic black and white photographs immediately caught my eye, reminiscent of Ansel Adams (yes, his work is that good). In this day and age, when anyone with a point and shoot SLR camera thinks they are a «photographer,» it’s refreshing to see there are brilliant artists out there who capture both the magnificent and the mundane, and bring them to the forefront of our consciousness in equal glory.
There was one photograph in particular that caught my eye; it was titled «Pumpjacks» and was hauntingly beautiful (you can view this piece on Tim’s website. It’s a photograph of oil derricks taken on Boliver Peninsula). I was looking for a gift for my fiancé’s upcoming birthday. He is a man who literally has everything, and finding a special and breathtaking gift leaves me anxious every year!
I told Tim I would be in touch and that I wanted to think about it, and think about it, I did. I could not get that photograph out of my mind’s eye. It was so beautiful, I was absolutely in love with it.
Tim has a fantastic website that displays all of his work, along with pricing, size and framing options, and a really helpful blog to help the general public understand the true art of photography (yes, it’s absolutely an art, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise).
I kept the photo of «Pumpjacks» up on my desktop so I could look at it. And within a few days, I contacted Tim to ask about purchasing a large framed print. He was incredibly gracious, helpful and a consummate professional. He responded to my many emails within minutes of receipt, and also offered FREE delivery to my home at my convenience. I was floored. I have met a lot of artists who seem rather indifferent to the fact that they need to be good business people as well as talented and creative. Tim provided exemplary customer service. He absolutely blew me away.
I highly recommend you visit Tim’s website and view his work. Word of warning, the medium of the web cannot possibly convey the magnificence of his work. He attends regular art shows and if you can possibly see him there, I would recommend that.
Tim is an artist whose work my future husband and I will be collecting on a regular basis.
