Dylan’s Wine Cellar

This place is an excellent neighborhood gem! Every wine I bought from them comes from the recommendation of Steven and the staff and every wine has been outstanding — from a Pinot Grigio to a Red Zinfandel (who’d have thought I’d like a Zinfandel?) to a Brunello, they did not disappoint.
The prices are very reasonable and if Steven doesn’t have a wine you want, he will do everything in his power to get it for you. The selection is carefully curated and changes frequently. I love the spotlight on local wines and liquors.
Parking is a bit challenging, but you can usually find a spot or two in the neighboring train lot — haven’t gotten a ticket yet. Wear comfortable shoes to walk in as the sidewalk leveling is not for the faint of heart.
I hope they stay open for a long, long time.

I drove totally out of my way and passed many other wine shops to support and see this shop for the first time. I had a wonderful experience. The guy asked me one time if I needed help then let me roam freely until I made my selection. He didn’t follow me around trying to sell me something which I appreciated. Great selection of local wine and very low priced.

Love this place! It’s tucked away in a cool, old building near the Peekskill train station, adjacent to the beautiful Hudson, and offers a great range of reasonably-​priced wines from a variety of regions. Most importantly, the owner is friendly, knows his wines, and takes the time to listen to customers’ interests, questions, and price point, and doesn’t try to oversell. Worth noting: 6 bottles or more gets you a 10% discount. I trust their recommendations of a good assortment, and really appreciate this gem of a small store.

This is a great store. They have a great selection of the basics, but also a really good selection of small batch and local spirits. I told them about Chinaco Tequila and Kings County bourbon, which are awesome and hard to find. They ordered it for me and now keep it in stock. Prices are reasonable.

I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, Nashville, Orlando, and now NY. Buying wine at Dylan’s wine store is fun and comfortable for me. I sometimes get nervous about my knowledge of wine and what it goes with, but Steve is so knowledgeable about his inventory and has an ability to convey that to the customer in a way that does not belittle them in the experience that I enjoy coming to his store. And this is not just to get the best wine in the area, but to get the best wine for my personal experience. I would recommend this store to my friends and to anyone visiting Peekskill (or just passing by).

Stopped here after we checked into our hotel. Needed a quick bottle of Champagne for mimosas in the morning.
Selection was great! I stumbled upon Catskill Distilling company a few years ago and haven’t been able to find it anywhere on long island… they had it!!!
Even better when we checked out we saw they were having a bourbon tasting! $ 5 to taste awesome bourbons, whiskeys, tequilas and gins! How can you beat that!!!

Went in for the first time yesterday, and met Stephen, the owner. I had called the store once before as well, and also spoke with Stephen. It’s great to do business with a local proprietor. I found Stephen extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all of our questions, and made some recommendations. I appreciated that he didn’t try to sell me on the most expensive bottles, listened to what we liked and made suggestions, and knew about every bottle in his store. I also found his prices to be extremely reasonable. Dylan’s shattered my preconceived notion about a boutique/​upscale store being higher priced. In fact, I found a bottle of local bourbon at Dylan’s for about 30% less than I have seen it in stores that are not nearly as nice. My wife and I walked out and both agreed that we would be hard-​pressed to find a reason to go into any other local wine/​liquor store in the area. A great find! I’m just sorry we didn’t find it sooner! I HIGHLY recommend Dylan’s.

Beautiful well stocked store and staff is so helpful! I will definitely go back and recommend going to Dylan’s to either stock up or buy that special occasion wine. They have liquor too and the prices are average for the area but a much nicer experience than most of the stores in the area.

I love shopping here. The beautiful Standard House is an excellent backdrop for the classy design, terrific inventory of unique wines and a well versed owner. I am always pleasantly surprised with great bargains and specially priced wines. I think they sell liquor too… LOL, but, seriously, if you like, love, adore wine, go to Dylan’s.

New wine store right near the train station in the Standard House building. They have done a lovely job with the space, have a great selection of wines (several Cotes du Rhone, one of my personal favorites) and the owners seem really down to earth and helpful.
