I was walking down a city street once and a guy randomly asked me if NYC has a Double Rainbow ice cream shop. Told him I never heard of it. He said it was the best ever ice cream from San Fran. Fast forward 6 years later… found one! Is this the same chain though. not sure. Ice cream unfortunately was not great quality. Cookies and cream was rather artificial tasting, as was the cookie dough. Not creamy enough either. Hard to have terrible ice cream, but this wasn’t anything special. Good for kids, I guess. Very nice counter lady though.

Besides ice cream and shakes they sell also Lavazza coffee. A few chairs and tables outside, plus the park benches across the street offer both indoor and outdoor sitting, a welcomed choice in the summer. When we visited they were playing a selection of Baroque music, from instrumentals to chorus works that elevated the experience to a new level for me. The young lady that took my order and the older lady(owner?) were both very pleasant. Had a black cherry shake that was worth the trip from the Bronx. I really will make it a point to come back soon.

Delicious ice cream in a great atmosphere. We arrived today just as the shopkeeper was closing up and locking the door. We were so bummed because we were in such a mood for ice cream and felt so close yet so far. But the owner was awesome and reopened the shop just for us. I really appreciated it We were a group of five, so I got to try lots of flavors. I had the Rocky Road which was super delicious, my wife had the Dulce de Leche and my boy had Mint Chocolate Chip … all were awesome!!! This was my first time at a Double Rainbow. The Ice cream was really good and the shop was very cute. Prices were quite reasonable as well. Ice cream for 5 was just $ 21.50.

i order all our special occasion cakes from here since my son loves ice cream(what kid doesn’t) The owner is very nice and helpful. Place has a quaint ice cream parlor feel to it which is nice… not too many of those around anymore. And most importantly lots of flavors to choose from and good quality. Highly recommend

If you are in Pelham, NY and want ice cream walk on by. The gentleman who I believe is the owner is very rude. I was going to buy an ice cream cake and he was so rude and dismissive when I asked for the prices. I decided to leave and spend my hard earned money elsewhere. When I was leaving I got a text message, so I stopped to read it before leaving the store. Do you know this idiot had the nerve to tell me don’t take pictures of anything in the store! I was shocked. I told him I was using my phone and that was my business, then he said I should leave his store. So then I decided to take pictures of him and his store. DON’T SUPPORTRUDE business people making money in our community. So if you visit, take lots of pictures and tell him ANDREA sent you to NOT buy anything!!!

Local neighborhood secret that I just learned about. It’s clean, and the owners are super nice. There’s seating inside and a few seats outside. The flavors are plentiful. My daughter had the French vanilla and I had the coffee flavor. The icecream is not super sweet which is the way I like it. Both flavors were awesome in my opinion. Since its Wolfs Lane in Pelham’s busy little strip most would worry about parking. However when I went there were PLENTY of metered parking dpaces.

Loved it! Went in a hot Sunday afternoon. Service was great; prompt and informative. The ice cream was delicious. You can tell quality stuff goes into it. They also had some nice ice cream cakes. The smaller ones that feed 5 – 6 people go for the $ 20, while the medium and large ones are $ 30 and $ 42, respectively. Those prices are not bad when you consider how expensive the average Carvel or Baskin Robbins cakes cost these days. I would definitely recommend this place. I even got my picky toddler to finish a small strawberry ice cream cup.

Ordered a cake for birthday party. The cake was ready when it was supposed to be and pick up went smooth and I was served very promptly. So fast I actually told them not to rush so must since I was not in a huge hurry. I think the people there were the owners and were very friendly The cookie dough ice cream cake we ordered tasted delicious. And the cookies around the side of cake were crisp indicating this was made fresh and had not been sitting in a freezer for the cookies to get soggy. My kids also like going here for ice cream cones. I’d go back and recommend this place without reservation.

Just popped in the other day. Friendly service from the man behind the counter. Yummy ice cream, even on a drizzly/snowy spring day!

Great little spot! Ice cream is premium quality. My favorite is «it’s a goody.» it’s like a sweet cream ice cream with peanut butter ripples and dark chocolate chunks. If you love chocolate peanut butter ice cream but want something not quite as rich, try it. You’ll be hooked.

Completely random find, driving back home and was on the hunt for some good ice cream. Unilocal didnt pick this place up at first, but after I parked I walked by Double Rainbow. I know of Double Rainbow from living in SF, but I was unaware of any outside of CA. So this place was clearly a Haggen Daaz, but the owners are from SF and wanted to sell real ice cream, so they imported Double Rainbow! What an excellent surprise, it was really good and they have like 30 something flavors. All ice cream is hormone free and all natural! My only advice would be to re-do the store interior and get rid of the left-over Haggen Daaz look and feel. How about some Golden gate murals or photos?

Walking down Wolf’s Lane, looking for the Hagen Daz shop I found Double Rainbow in its place — and boy was I happy! Their ice cream, I chose the chocolate peanut butter, was rich, creamy and delicious. The chocolate was dark and not overly sweet. The chunks of peanut butter were good, solid chunks and tasted all natural. Will definitely pop in again next time I am in the neighborhood.

My whole family loves Double Rainbow. We have been going since we moved to Pelham 12 years ago. The ice cream is wonderful and the service is great. They now also sell chocolates and espresso. They are often trying new items so it’s always exciting to find something new. Many ice cream shops in Westchester don’t last because in winter they have so little business. Somehow the longtime owners have weathered the seasons and managed to keep it going. Please go so we continue to have this shop in Pelham.
