Z&C Hibachi & Chinese

This restaurant has closed and replaced by another Chinese takeout restaurant, Ruby China, which I have reviewed quite favorably.

Z&C Hibachi & Chinese (former Peking Garden) opened up recently in the Hannaford Plaza, next to Suppa’s Pizza & Subs and Pinball Wizard Arcade.
They serve up a mostly standard Chinese menu (most items under $ 11) including Chef’s Specials and 23 Combination Platters served with choice of rice and choice of appetizer for lunch ($ 6.15-$ 6.75) and dinner ($ 8.28-$ 8.38). They also serve hibachi platters with white rice & hibachi vegetables for lunch ($ 6.28-$ 7.50) and dinner ($ 8.98-$ 14.28).
The place is a typical takeout restaurant which is order at the counter (no open kitchen) with 6 self serve tables for eating in. The dining area is clean.
I stopped in here for lunch takeout after a shopping trip. I ordered the Combination 4 Shrimp Lo Mein ($ 6.70 with tax) with Pork Fried Rice and 2 Chicken Teriyakis. The food was ready to go in 10 minutes as promised.
As for the food, the lunch portion size was good. The chicken teriyaki sticks were tender, but very dry and I could taste the curry. The pork fried rice (brown color) was very generic, which was mostly short grain rice mixed with small pieces of roast pork cubes. The lo mein was pretty decent, which had a good mix of carrots, cabbage, onions, scallions, and tender baby shrimp (cleaned) tossed with soft noodles. The food was alright on this visit.
I will have to stop in again at Z&C soon to try out the Hibachi Scallops & Steak.
