Quack Daddy Donuts

Lovely warm glorious donuts. Lots of yummy options. Cute little shop and very friendly staff. I’m excited to watch this place grow and to bring my nieces and nephew here next time they stay with us.

So I just got done eating one and a half donuts from Quack Daddy thanks to a wonderfully generous co-​worker. I know this is a new business just getting going so I figured I’d give my thoughts on their current offering.
I am in donut heaven! These things are legit — they showed up still warm — yes! There were a ton of different toppings — yes! They smelled amazing — yes!
I had one covered in M&Ms and half of one covered in Oreo — both were great, the Oreo being my favorite, it was the perfect texture, flavor and was almost like eating a cake, mmm. I heard nothing but good things from my coworkers who tried other varieties, one of my friends had a Reese’s Pieces and said it might be the best donut she’e ever had. They are cake donuts but a little more fluff to the body than other cake donuts, I really enjoyed it!
I wish I lived close to this place to keep trying and sharing! Everyone nearby should go get these for your co-​workers.
Anyways, after writing this, I need to go see what donuts are left now…

I had my doubts about doughnuts with some of the toppings, but have loved everyone I have tried. There is nothing better in life like a hot doughnut at quack daddy’s.

Definitely an interesting concept for coffee and donuts! Swung by on my way to work after noticing they were open… the sign that greets you right as you walk in gives you a clue as to how the whole deal works. 1) Select your frosting 2) Select your toppings 3) Turn in your order form.
So I grabbed a form and a golf course pencil and filled out my order. Five types of frostings and many types of toppings makes for a huge (but not overwhelming) combination of options to pick from. I just wanted simple so went with a couple of chocolate donuts, icing only.
At the counter was Dave (owner of Gathering Grounds down the street?). Surprised me, but after chatting he told me he wanted out and sold his other business! I didn’t get the impression he was the owner here, just helping them out. Anyhow cool to see him (and the coffee market in Pendleton is crowded honestly with two places now).
Inside is massive… reminded me of Indulge in Fortville from a space and layout standpoint. Plenty of room to spread out and sit. Nice seating area toward the front by the window.
The vanilla cake donuts made to order were hot when I got them… thankfully they were to go and had time to cool off. Really very good cake donuts with a slightly crisp outside and generous amount of frosting. Cake donuts usually aren’t my thing but these were very good. Price for 2 donuts was $ 2.68 with tax.
So nice place! I will definitely bring the kids here for a made to order treat sometime soon. Sunrise Donuts in Fortville will still be my go to for the donuts I REALLY like (yeast, fritters) but this will be a regular stop for me.

Not too impressed! My donuts were so hot they fell apart and the icing just melted off into the box. I literally couldn’t pick up the donut. The middle of the donut fell apart from the outer crust. In addition, the bacon was really chewy and just seemed like fat chunks.
On the plus side, the donut and icing flavors were both good. I’ll try the place again maybe in a few months to see if it was just them trying to figure everything out. It would be really cool if it was more of an experience and we could watch them assemble the donuts while we wait. That would help pass the time since it may take a while for your order. I went in for a donut and came out a better human being. As I gazed in wonder at the shiny mechanical donut machine pumping out fresh circles of yummy bliss I said to my self «is this a dream» quickly I realized it couldn’t be because as you know we don’t dream in color. The kaleidoscope of colors before my eyes was like nothing I have ever witnessed. The smells took me back to NOWHERE because these smells win out on all other smells you’ve ever had. Have I mentioned the toppings you can place on these warm fresh made cakes of happiness? To name a few Sprinkles, nuts, cookies, candies, cereals, sugars… are you sitting down Bacon! Yes you can put bacon on your donut. So go you will not be disappointed you’ll just need 10 minutes more on the treadmill.
