Fired Up Paint Your Own Pottery & Art Studio

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to be an artist to partake in the fun. The procedure goes something like this: check in to grab a table, pick a ready-​to-​paint piece of pottery (mugs, plates, bowls, figurines, etc), pick paint colors, sit back down and paint away.
Fired up does provide art supplies, but their paintbrushes are a little worn down and jagged. There are stencils, tape, stickers, and even a book in the back for inspiration. If you have any questions you can always ask the friendly staff. You can create some pretty neat designs using a bubble technique or a spiral technique, all sure to come out one-​of-​a-​kind, just be sure to ask an attendant to help you set it up first.
No worries if you don’t finish in one sitting, you can always come back (after you have paid for your pottery along with the studio fee) and finish at your leisure with no additional cost. If you’re a student, you can save a few dollars on your studio fee by flashing your student ID at checkout. It typically takes a week and a half to two weeks for your creation to be ready to be picked up.

Unusual circumstances brought me here twice in as many weeks. I’d only heard of this place and had not planned to visit. I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, you can ask anyone. And, I absolutely hate painting, of any kind… BUT, this was actually a lot of fun, twice!
Make a reservation, when you get there you will find a table with a little ceramic tile with your name on it. Unless you’re a repeat-​repeat, I strongly urge you to get directions on how to do this. There are some details that are kind of important.
Lots of choices of things to paint, such as seasonal, housewares, kitsch, useable items, or just for fun.
I have used stencils and done free hand both. They have lots and lots of stencils, idea books, inspiration pieces. Or you can bring your own stencils to follow a room theme, or a picture to try. The possibilities are endless.

Give yourself a couple hours at least, longer if you have complicated or multiple things to paint.
About a week to get you piece lovingly wrapped and ready to pick up.
