Let’s start with personnel… Host=great, Waitress Jessica=outstanding, service excellent. We were out for a light Friday night, a couple of apps and a bottle of wine. My wife had been bragging about the calamari she had had with her girl friends. They changed the breading to a much heavier one. It was good but not what she remembered nor that I had anticipated. Lamb app. very small and really an insipid rosemary sauce.

Calamari quite good but not enough to «share». The baby spinach salad was past its«sell by» date… limp, some edges black, stems brown; 1 slice red bell pepper and 1 small olive. My veal Piccata was tough, the linguine so over-cooked that I barely could tell what kind of pasta it was. We got a change of servers after the bread was served, and the new one was very, very good. The place was packed, far too many tables for the space. The other customers were mainly older and, unfortunately, loud-talking. Impossible to have a conversation until most of them had gone. Over-priced for the quality of the food and lack of pleasant ambience. A most ambitious menu selection, sort of «looks good on paper». Cutting it back and doing it better might help and then work on the deafening noise!

Just another fantastic meal at 2chez tonight… I’m thinking this is one of my favorite places in Peoria… the food is consistently fantastic…

Great place for dinner. High quality food and very consistent from my experience. Also the menu is pretty diverse and everything I’ve gotten here is good(been about 5 times over 2 years). Only reason I can’t give 5 stars is that the décor and atmosphere needs updating… and for some reason the place tends to attract the 50+ crowd. Not a big issue I guess, but this isn’t the hippest of places to eat in Peoria. So if you’re bringing a date, keep that in mind. It can get a little loud sometimes too on weekend evenings… not much privacy afforded since tables are pretty close together.

The menu has awesome options to select from. I had the steak bleu it was cooked perfectly(which is always hard to find a place that does this) and the sauce was just delicious. My order included a soup which was a kind of veggie soup full of flavor. I also ordered a rioja glass of wine, but selecrionwasn’t that good. It didn’t work for me. I’ll have to go back and try their other wine selections and their tapas menu served at the bar. It is definetly worth it and so far the best dinner I had in Peoria.

Went to 2 chez on Valentine’s Day for a few drinks. We peaked in and thought maybe they were too busy as the house was full and we almost left. My wife insisted that because we made the trip we were at least going to have a drink. We went in and had a seat at the bar. The manager served us, even though it was busy, he was friendly and made us very comfortable. I was very happy to see, without asking, he poured my beer for me and gave me a glass of water as well. The environment was very comfortable and the music set a light happy mood. The manager was tending the bar and kept us all entertained and our glasses full. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere, good drinks, good conversation, and a very friendly staff. Next time we are here we will be getting dinner, the food looked and smelled great.

Had a great Bartender(Costas?) who was running yet did a great job keeping everyone happy and welcome. Then had Jeff as a server. Great guy. Just the right level of attentive without crowding. Menu is interesting with both traditional and not so traditional items. We ordered based on Jeff’s recommendations and were not disappointed. Started with calamari which was wonderfully lightly battered and fresh. We also ate a couple pieces of bread with the amazing butter they serve with it. My fiancé had the seafood and linguine and I had Bleu Steak. Both were amazing. Great taste and presentation. My only knock on the place is it’s a bit tight and loud. However we still had a great time and the noise was just below obtrusive. Highly recommended.

Wow, this place blew us away! We have overlooked a hidden gem in the neighborhood for far too long. Great food and great service in a cozy atmosphere made for the perfect dining experience. They seem to be serving traditional American cuisine with an Italian flair which worked for me! HUGE wine selection by the bottle although only one of each type available by the glass which was kind of disappointing as my date and myself do not drink the same type. We tried the artichoke and the calamari appetizers, both were delicious. We got 4 stuffed artichokes in the order with a pile of greens next to it that we ate with the leftover sauce– excellent basil lemon flavor. Calamari was incredibly tender! Probably the best I think I’ve had, light crispy breading and a creamy tart sauce served along side. The duck breast was amazing, cooked perfectly medium and served piping hot. It had a light coating of a sweetish rosemary sauce that didn’t overpower the flavor of the duck. The garlic mashed were not very garlicky– possibly were just the plain version by mistake. Veggies were fresh and still slightly crisp– just the way I love them! Date had the rib eye with a mushroom poivre sauce. It was very tender and cooked perfectly. The sauce was to die for, I would love to get it on a filet on the next visit. The only thing lacking all night was adequate busing service. Water went unfilled until the waitress took over and dishes were also cleared by her instead of the busser. We didn’t see much of him at all in the dining room so not sure what other tasks were keeping him from his table service. It was a slight misstep that the server easily filled in though and would definitely not keep us from returning! Also heard they have BYOB on Wednesday, not sure of a corkage fee though. Will definitely be visiting for that too!

Hidden gem! This is excellent! Best in Peoria! Have had just about everything on the menu. Everything is well prepared. A must if visiting or if you live close! Hands down best Beef Stroganoff!

This is probably the best quality food for the price you can get in peoria. From salads to pasta dishes, steak frites,…all good quality and tasty. Coming from France, this is the closest to a french neighborhood restaurant you will find in central illinois. The décor is bland though and could use some flavor, flavor that the food definitely has!

2 Chez was recommended by my beautician. My husband and I went on a date there. It was a wonderful place. Fancy but not too fancy. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Excellent food, wine and dessert. Will go back. A great experience…

Stopped here while visiting Peoria and was impressed. The ambiance is classy without being too fancy, and the drink menu has a great selection. It seems weird to say this but my only gripe about the place is that their portion sizes are actually a bit too big in my opinion. I got the seared ahi tuna and they came out with what I estimate to be a ~12 oz tuna steak. Crazy! I would have considered half of that portion to still be on the large side. Not to mention it also came with bread, soup/salad, and a couple of sides to round out the dish. As far as complaints go, that’s certainly not a bad complaint to have. Definitely if you’re in the area, go grab a craft beer and enjoy the ambiance.

We had not visited in years, and now wonder why. We had the calamari appetizer, which was nice and light, with a delicious dipping sauce. We also started with the stuffed artichokes, which were just artichoke hearts with a bit of cream sauce on the top… tasted fine, but not what we expected. For entrees, I had a pasta & chicken dish which was average… better with the artichokes I saved. My husband had the veal piccata… absolutely great. Our tasty dinners were enough to bring us back, but the clincher is the salted caramel ice cream… I couldn’t shovel it in my face fast enough.

Two main take-aways from 2 Chez: For the quality and portion size, this place is a steal Are we in Peoria? Anyway, did I mention portion size? Wow! I ordered the seared ahi tuna and was a bit worried that it might not be enough… upon asking the server how much she wasn’t sure but said«a good sized portion/would be enough»…k, well as a server you might want to be a bit more specific but she was excellent overall so whateves… and she was right, it was way more than enough. I’m gonna say at minimum 12 oz, maybe more. It came with some sauteed veggies and a side(PLUS soup or salad!)…normally this would be a la carte with a place of this caliber in Chicago but not here. Refreshing change. We had a group of eight and for the most part everyone was satisfied with what they ordered. A few dishes were very rich but outside of that no complaints. The atmosphere was very dark and clubby but for some odd reason it was really loud, you almost expect a subdued noise level but we found it hard to hear each other bc the acoustics were not muted… again, small detail but worth a mention. If you live in and around P-town(or are visiting) I would highly recommend this place for a quality/locally sourced meal that is priced right. Oh and don’t miss out on their Vegetable Soup, it was outstanding!

We planned a surprise for our mothers 55th birthday and 2 Chez went above and beyond our expectations. We’ve been back several times since then. The owner Todd, made every attempt to stay within our budget(500.00) for our party of ten. Food, apps, drinks and tip. The meal was incredible!!! Several people ordered the steak with mushrooms, brown sauce, veggies and potatoes. We had a personalized menu, with3 entrée choices and several apps to pass around. Todd even let us come in and sample everything first. Stand out service and exceptional food! Great experience and the cream of the crop dining in Peoria. I would absolutely return and take as many people as I could. Great for dates, gatherings, and I hear they have a good lunch menu ad well! Bön apetit!

After five months of raising our newborn son, my wife and I finally decided to go out to eat by ourselves. We’ve always wanted to try 2 Chez, and it was nice since it was not to far from our apartment complex if we needed to get home quickly. It is located in a strip mall, but don’t be fooled, this is really a nice, fine dining experience. I made a reservation earlier in the day, but we had arrived around 7:00pm and there were quite a few tables open so we really didn’t need one. I’m not sure when their busy times would be, but there aren’t a lot of tables so a reservation wouldn’t hurt. After waiting a couple minutes to be seated, we were given menus and greeted by our server. He took our drink orders and gave us some yummy warm bread with what I think was a sun-dried tomato spread, super delicious!(We had 2 loaves) My wife ordered a nice glass of Riesling and I had a Miller Lite(in a fancy glass too.) We also ordered the calamari, which they claim to be the best in Peoria. Now I cannot say that it is because I’ve only had it at their restaurant, but it was damn good! You got bite sized chunks of lightly battered calamari, and a yummy remoulade. Honestly, I could’ve eaten it plain because the batter had a great taste to it, but dipping it in the remoulade was so good! After finishing off our appetizer, we got our salads. It was a small salad, but it hit the spot and was a nice precursor to our main course. I ordered it with bleu cheese and my wife got it with the house dressing. Shortly after, our entrées came out and I was in heaven! I had ordered the Filet Medallions in bleu which was 2 filets in an applewood bacon bleu cheese sauce garnished with spinach and cherry tomatoes. I don’t even like tomatoes, but filet mignon, and bacon, and bleu cheese… thank you very much… AWESOME. It was fantastic, and my side of garlic mashed potatoes was good as well. My wife had the Corsican, which consisted of mussels, shrimp, scallops, and more, in a white wine sauce over linguine. She like hers too, obviously not as much as me, but I love steak, especially when it’s done right. All in all, we were stuffed and dessert wasn’t something we had room for. Before tip it was a little over $ 90, and I would say it was well spent. While the service was a little slow, due to there being only 2 servers, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Peoria.
