Never anywhere to sit and study. No outlets for your laptops in café area. Outlets have post it notes saying BROKEN and have said that since I started coming here for about a year now. I think there are only 2 working outlets against a wall and someone is most likely using them already. They do not accept Starbucks gift cards. Although I do enjoy the variety of books.

This review is regarding the café. OVERPRICED and misleading. They only serve Starbucks coffee, but you cannot use a Starbucks gift card there. Not sure how many more times I’ll visit.

The store is usually clean and the people who work here are nice, my issues pertain to corporate… Staff at the counter asking if I’m using a B&N member card, then asking if I want to buy one, then asking if I want to buy a gift card, then asking if I want to buy some little item on the counter display is totally excessive… I know it isn’t the staff’s fault, B&N– stop already. Then there’s the prices. The last three times I’ve bought books from here I’ve returned them because I found them, new, on Amazon for 30−50% cheaper… Get with the times… It almost makes trying to get me to buy a membership even more insulting… Barnes and Noble will undoubtably be out of business in the next 5 years.

This is a pretty standard one story Barnes and Noble. One thing I do like about this location is that there is plenty of seating — including booth seating, for café patrons. I like to buy a coffee or tea and stay in the area to study for a while, so I do appreciate this location’s amplitude of seating and free wi-fi. I don’t really have any complaints about this location. TIP: The café at Barnes and Noble is a B&N café that serves Starbucks, so they can’t actually accept Starbucks gift cards or Gold Cards, but they can accept Barnes and Noble cards.

We were in town visiting Arizona and we found this Barnes & Noble. My daughter needed a book for her high school class. The staff was very friendly and helped us find the book she needed. We spent more time there looking at the other books that they had. This Barnes & Noble was very nice it had a starbucks inside with seating. We will definitely come back.

Stopped by this store to buy a new nook. Not one staff member came over to the nook area to assist me, even after I requested assistance. Requested a second page and requested the manager paged. Insincere apologies were given, when an employee finally showed up. Turns out the nook glow light does not have room for my memory chip. Did not purchase anything.

This review is regarding the«Barnes and Nobles Café» serving Starbucks. Please note, this café in the center of the Barnes and nobles store should not be mistaken for a Starbucks. They do not accept Starbucks gift cards and the coffee is sub par. The coffee was watered down and my cup was ¾ full. Will of course be returning to Barnes and Nobles for the books but my next visit will not include a coffee at the café.

Welcoming, clean, and a wonderful place to snuggle with my little guy and read books while we pass time. The staff is friendly and kind. The Starbucks guy was funny and helpful. Overall a nice visit. The one thing I wish that businesses(and this BN is guilty of it) WOULDNOT do is put the changing table in the handicap stall. There was a woman in the handicap stall for… no joke…45 minutes. I had to take my boy out to the car to change him as I sure won’t change him on a pad on a public restroom dirty yucky floor. I wouldn’t have had to do that on a 113 degree day though if the darn changing table was outside the handicap stall. And the reason I know it was 45 minutes? We went in to the bathroom right at our arrival and had to use it again 45 minutes later. Same lady in the stall. And yes, she was ok. Or so she said. So, if you have kids, keep this in mind when using the rest room, otherwise enjoy a very nice experience at this BN location.

I generally visit this Barnes and Noble to use the starbucks area but the first time I visited this location it was about to close and I ran inside to grab a bookmark and even though they closed in 5 minutes the later was badgering me to get out quickly. My girlfriend works in the area and I use this area for its wi-fi when she has shorter shifts. I usual will buy a rice crispie or a frappucino. There’s this spiky haired worker who when I don’t buy something and I’m on my laptop will bother me until I buy something. Then when you buy something he still has a scowling attitude. I once was there for an hour and he asked me every ten minutes if I needed anything, giving him the same response each time. Afterwards I got up and looked at some books and it seemed one of the associates followed me around to see if I was going to steal anything. I haven’t been back since.

I like how the Starbuck’s here is I the center of the bookstore. Nice place to people watch! Ahh, but that was in my more formative years, before having a kid. Now, we go there mainly to look at the kid’s section and I think they have a good variety. Definitely like spending an afternoon here chillin’ with the kiddo and picking out books!

The Starbucks inside doesn’t take Starbucks gift cards. Wtf? Otherwise clean and no service issues. They have always been attentive to when I need help looking for something. The layout of the store also actually makes sense, so you don’t have to look around long for a topic.

I’ve been boycotting this store since 2009. One afternoon after browsing for a while with my kids, I allowed my 10yo and 8yo to stay in the children’s section to pick out a book to spend their allowance money on while I ran next door to TJ Maxx to buy the toddler a pair of shoes. I’d been gone 30 minutes when I returned to find the horrid lady in the children’s section had called the police on us. She never asked the kids their ages and didn’t ask if they had a way to reach me(they did). The police talked to them, realized they were perfectly well behaved consumers, and assured me I’d done nothing illegal. Avoid like the plague.

I did not experience any of the issues that other Unilocalers have discussed. I went to Starbucks there and was waited on with no issues. The store is one of the more striking inside specially the Starbucks that is predominately located in the middle of the store which is very unusual for a B&N. Cashier was friendly and pleasant.

I’ve frequented this store for many years and have always had good luck getting help from the employees. Generally if I can’t find a book, all I need to do is ask at customer service and they’ll either point me in the right direction or help me to place an order for the book. The store has a good selection of product besides books as well including comics, games, collectibles, etc. I’ve never noticed the cleanliness issues that some of the other Unilocalers have mentioned about this store. Perhaps I’ve only shopped there on the days they cleaned?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t B&N in business to make money? You’d think that ringing up sales would be the priority here. It would be nice if the employees would stop wandering around the store(like they are stocking books on the shelves) and help ring up the line of customers. I have better things to do with my time than wait in line all day… even if I look-thru the copies of PEOPLE and STAR while waiting, the line doesn’t move fast enough. I always see just ONE cashier all the time, it’s the same fellow… the little, old man. There are usually more employees stationed at the Starbucks counter than at the main register. Maybe because people just park themselves in the sofa seats all day like it’s a library and they’re not used to ringing up book sales? I dunno. I do prefer Border’s, which is down the street… but, ultimately when it comes down to it, I prefer to shop online… with Amazon, which is cheaper and offers FREESHIPPING, and since they have a HUB here too, the books arrive within a couple of days.

B&N used to be my favorite place, but this specific location is some what disappointing. Once you walk in, it’s kind of depressing. No pleasant welcoming staff, sparse décor, just overall not impressive. Much more lively at the Borders across the street. A highlight is that a Starbucks is inside, although they do not accept Starbucks gift cards. And they do have a sort of nice childrens area with a train table. But the floors are disguisting, HUGE dust bunnies everywhere; not cute. My daughter was looking at the board books, and of course some of them were on the ground, as with all kids. A sales associate asked that she not touch the books and for them not to touch the ground. SERIOUSLY?! I can understand because some parents don’t pick up after their kids, but I always do. I just didn’t like the associates snide attitude and unrealistic expectations for the«kids area». Anyway, the B&N at Desert Ridge is better. Just my opinion.

eewh! yuck and wtf?! This Barnes & Noble Book Store sucks for sitting back, relaxing and trying to read. I know it is not a library, and I don’t expect it to be. But, come on — you can at least have some sense of trying to keep the noise level down and have some cozy seating. And… Yikes! The people here are gross. They had some couch-chairs to lounge in and they were — in all of their grossness. And they were reading magazines of all things. WTF buy it and go home and let your kids do kart wheels there. EEWH! Then, those of us who actually purchased books and were trying to peacefully read them were in the café’ — sitting on their dirty wooden benches — where I guess the servers there think that part of theirs jobs in serving coffee is to do a drum solo every time they empty the used coffee grinds into the trash can — which was about every 5 minutes. Yeesh! Luckily, I had my iPod. It was blasting and I still could hear them banging away. It was not a very cleanly area either. I was going to ask if they had wifi but I just high-tailed it out of there instead. This place is small too and their book selection is limited. I have been looking for a place to go to read, work and drink some coffee in my area(Arrowhead) and this one is definitely crossed off of my list. Come here to try and find a book but don’t come expecting to kick back and enjoy your novel or what have you. If you like people watching though, this may be your place. There are all kinds here. PS: and I left my fav coffee mug at this crappy place — like I will go back and get it. I think I would burn it first — bummer!
