Lots has changed in the three years(!!) since my first visit! They have added a little kitchen cooking up yummy pizza available by the slice– how nice! They also obtain a liquor license and have a full bar and beer. Their bar selections have some unusual distillers so it’s a fun place to taste test something new. They host art nights with drawing or painting classes and have some musical guests as well. The only drawback from all this attention to drinks & nightlife is they open now at noon. That is well past my first, second and third cups of coffee so I haven’t had one there for a long time. Luckily, there is much more to drink so no complaints!

Great staff — I’m not a big coffee fan, so I asked for one of their tea’s instead. Got recommended the mint mocha tea(I believe) and it was delicious! Definitely a great study spot as well, I run past the place often and it never seems too crowded or busy.

Hands down my favorite coffee place in Peoria. Small enough to maintain a really nice atmosphere. Personable staff. They have pizza, craft beer, craft soda, pastries, and calzones are coming soon! They usually play great music, and they also have the Tapper arcade cabinet!

We loved our experience today at Broken Tree. We came in for lunch and ordered pizza. It was delicious, fresh and made with real ingredients(tomatoes, mushrooms, onions). No waiting time to be seated, friendly atmosphere and delicious pizzas, are the reasons why we’ll be returning customers.

I really wanted to like this place, but when I get completely ignored trying to order food– I can’t. I came here on a Saturday at lunchtime to try their pizza. I told the guy behind the counter I wanted to order pizza and he said OK. Then he proceeds to completely ignore me for a solid ten minutes. He refills drinks for other people, he gets drinks for new people, he has extended conversations with people… at no time did he ever give me the chance to order the latte I wanted and at no point did he ever make any movement towards making my pizza at all. After that long of a time with nothing happening, I just walked out. I’m not the only one who has been completely ignored in this establishment. I will certainly not be back.

I really like this place. I wish it was downtown. Everything from a cold beer, to delicious coffee drinks and pizza. As a coffee shop lover, I enjoy the variety of options and the cool employees! Super nice, and relatable people to talk to.

5 stars for coffee alone — I’ve grown quite fond of really good coffee in the last year or so, and Broken Tree has made some of the best I’ve ever had so far, beyond just Peoria. The space is intimate and cool, and the owner is really supportive of the local arts by housing unique music and poetry events there. They recently staked down longer hours with some dedicated employees and greatly expanded their non-coffee offerings by acquiring a liquor license and building a kitchen area to house two huge ovens. Now you can get fresh scones and bagels there when you wake up and go back later for homemade pizzas and bottle craft beer or a skillfully mixed drink! Main Street on top of the hill has been seeing a strong revival getting going in the last couple of years, and Broken Tree has shaped up to be a solid anchor for the area.

I walked from Methodist to here in search of some decent coffee. I was not disappointed and the service was good. Friendly but gave me space. I recommend giving it a try!

Another newer coffee shop visit when I was home recently. Even though we were caffeinated out at this point, we wanted to try their coffee and see their atmosphere. We ordered a mocha to share and it was delicious! Just how a mocha should taste – with just a little hint of chocolate and a good dose of espresso. Perfect and just sweet enough. The atmosphere was nice inside, but a bit dark and on a busier street. I’m not really complaining though. Will definitely try this place again on my future visits.

I have attempted to go here twice, during what were posted as normal business hours, and they were closed both times. Once there was someone at the register, but he would not acknowledge that anyone was at the door even when we waved and knocked. It looked like he was counting money … at 10am on a Saturday? However, if you go back after business hours, say 12 or 1 am, the place will probably be packed with a band playing… WTF? If I’m ever able to actually patronize this establishment I may change my review but until then… Sorry.

Every time I’ve tried to go they are closed. Middle of the day, not crazy late or early. I love local coffee shops and really want small businesses to succeed… So please get your sh#t together!

Coffee is worth more stars, but spotty hours worth only 1 star. Service is acceptable, would be great if register was something other than an iPad app.

I’m not sure why my other review disappeared. The coffee I’ve received from Broken Tree Coffee has been consistently great. You can’t beat freshly roasted beans, the smell in my kitchen is amazing. Great customer service and free delivery are huge pluses.
