My husband and I were in the area and I decided to stop at the local bead shop. The owner of the store was very helpful and I could have spent more time here as there was so much to see. She gave me suggestions on a jewelry piece I was making and many other ideas. The prices for leather and crystal chain were reasonable and I walked out of there with enough items to keep me busy for a while. She has a large selection of jewelry findings and you’ll find she has a few kits put together to make several different jewelry pieces. If you’re ever in the Peoria, IL area make sure you check out this store.

I’m relatively new to the area and was looking for a local shop to buy some gemstone beads. I sell jewelry on Etsy and sometimes I prefer to browse in person rather than order online.
According to Google, Free to Bead is the only bead shop in town– so I decided to check them out. They have a pretty good bead selection, both genuine gemstone and glass beads. They also have beading classes on site, the schedule is listed on their website.
The owner was really nice and I will definitely be back for more supplies.
