I always have an enjoyable time at Jalapeño’s. The prices are fair and the staff is very accommodating and kind. Clean place, and tasty food.

My girlfriend and I went to Jalepeños tonight and it was by far the best restaurant experience I’ve had in a while. Their Queso and Salsa tasted truly authentic and it was delicious! I got their award winning A Pastor and it was also delicious. Shortly after we got our meals, I accidentally spilled glass of water on my girlfriend’s plate. Within seconds, three staffers were at my table and whisked my girl’s plate away for a new one. I highly recommend this place — the food and atmosphere and staff are great.

I’ve always been on the fence about this place but this is my first visit since they remodeled so I thought I would review. Met on a Friday(7.50 $ 27oz margarita special). Had 3 tacos($ 6.50-small and greasy-nothing exceptional) also had the chile relleno at 3.50 and was an ABSOLUTERIP OFF-was the size of maybe 2 quarters together. Margaritas were nothing special-standard drink. Service was okay although everyone we experienced wasn’t the friendliest. Probably wont come back to this location unless someone threatens my life and I am forced to.

Great atmosphere just make sure you don’t order a side of grilled mushrooms. Even the person checking you out will be confused about the charge. The price of a small amount of grilled mushrooms is the same amount as a meal. Ridiculous.

Jalepenos was on top of their game like I’ve never seen tonight. The service was outstanding, from our friendly and attentive waitress, to many smiling visits from different waitstaff, and our beverages being constantly refilled all night. The menu seemed brand new with lots of new items. I had the pulled pork tacos and they were truly fantastic, with delicious little corn tortillas, tender, juicy meat, just the right amount of BBQ, and a wonderful tomato, onion & red cabbage slaw on top. Can’t wait to go back to try the mahi mahi fish tacos too.

The food at Jalapeño’s is pretty good. However, I am not a fan of the portion size in relation to the price. The tortillas are smaller than you will find at other Mexican restaurants or could buy at the store. I had Chori Pollo Tacos. Since the tortillas were small and not layered, they would fall apart when I picked them up. Hence the reason all the other places use two regular sized tortillas for each taco. At almost all Mexican restaurants, rice and beans come with your meal. At Jalapeño’s, you have to read the menu carefully to see if your meal will. Otherwise, you have to order them separately. That wouldn’t such an issue if it weren’t for the fact you’re paying over 11 dollars for most items. I wanted to order the Enchilada Zuizas but it was 11.99 for just the enchiladas with no rice or beans. Compare that to the less than 9 dollars with rice and beans at other Mexican places. I assume that this all a cost-saving measure by the owners. Honestly, I would not take issue with any of this if the food was vastly superior to the standard Mexican restaurant. However, if I can get the same food(and more of it) at another restaurant for less money then I will. For example, places like Taqueria El Porton in Bloomington can be pricey in relationship to serving size. However, I’m willing to pay that because they offer more authentic versions of my favorite Mexican dishes. The service is pretty good though so it has that going for it.

Everything was average. Nothing stood out, pretty much interchangeable with most Mexican restaurants in the area. A little pricey for portion size.

We arrived here around 6:30pm, on May 5, 2015 We waited for about 20 minutes, which is not too crazy for the holiday. We were seated, and got the menus promptly. We ordered 3 of the meals on the back cover. We got chips and dip, as all tables do. The wait staff was very friendly, and quick for any requests. our food came within about 8 minutes or so, which is normal for here. Food tasted great, as always. After we were done, we had a few more beers, some nice conversation with the waiter and manager, and went to pay. The line was long from the crowd, but our waiter had one of the hostess’ take us by the bar for us to pay quicker — — — — — — — — — — – Service — 7⁄5(not a typo) Food Quality– 5⁄5 Serving Size — 5⁄5 Speediness — 5⁄5 Atmosphere — 5⁄5 Overall: 5⁄5 Suggestions for Management: Keep up the good work! The only thing i can suggest is a more organized way to handle large parties and events, rather than having everyone wait by the door.

Great food and service. Best salsa and guacamole we can find in Peoria. The waiters rarely let your drink get half empty and are on the spot with your needs. Food comes out fast and has great taste and quality.

So not Mexican food. Not even good knock off Mexican food. The chips are basically Fritos, they charge you for additional baskets of chips and salsa. The food was bland and lacking flavor. The water was even dirty. PASS!

Just don’t. The service is good, but the food is really not. Like at all. Poor quality, poorly prepared, drenched in cheese and sauce. Margaritas also are not good, in a Sprite and lemon juice way. There are other options in this town like El Mexicano, El Zarape, etc. that are simply much better.

I was there for lunch one day during the week and the short heavy set man who was manning the register was a jerk! He has a mustache. Before he is NOT customer friendly and very rude. Not an asset to Jalapeño’s. The chips are not hot anymore and very disappointed by that. La Siesta is MUCH better and you actually have one server through your entire meal. The food is much better with the exception of the taco meat. The taco meat is not as good as Good Taquila’s or Jalapeño’s. I probably won’t be back to Jalapeño’s because of the short fat guy with the mustache. Too rude to compensate for the what once was a very nice Mexican restaurant.

Impressed! I didn’t expect to be impressed. Definitely judged the book by its cover at first, but the food was great and so was the service, could definitely use a good cleaning and touch ups haha.

The food is pretty good. The salsa is a little too salty. The margaritas are terrible, but they pour a decent shot of tequila. I recommend the chicken tacos, and order them with extra spicy sauce. Ground beef entrees are pretty standard Mexican fare. It is a decent Mexican place, and one of the only authentic ones in the area. Good Tequilas is better, but it’s too far on the other side of town for me.

Though we eat here fairly frequently and enjoy it, I just can’t bring myself to tip Jalapeño’s up to that fourth star, and I’m not sure I can articulate why. The servers here are incredibly friendly, but the service itself is sometimes kind of frenzied and awkward. It seems your table doesn’t really have one server, just whoever happens to pass by, which means requests can sometimes get lost along the way. The food is almost always lightning fast to the table, though on one or two occasions it’s been painfully slow(which no one on staff noticed, a problem with not actually having an assigned server). The food itself is… well, it really is just okay. It’s never bad(except for that one spinach burrito I got), but it’s never great(except for their beans, which I have a bit of a love affair with), and it kind of seems like the kitchen doesn’t care a lot about what’s going out on the plates. Obviously Jalapeño’s is a million steps up from the likes of Taco Bell, but at the same time, it seems quite a few steps away from real Mexican cuisine as well.

I can’t compare their food to other Mexican restaurants in the area, but what I tried for lunch was decent. They had a lunch special and provided chips and salsa on the table(like any other Mexican restaurant you go to). The only thing I did remember is that their chips is quite thick which I didn’t really care for. Overall, it was ok. Nothing memorable, nothing bad.

Nicely maintained restaurant. We ate here for lunch one day this week, and the chips were warmed, which some places don’t seem to bother with lately. The service and food were good, and the lunch special prices are pretty affordable.

I usually come here with friends for lunch. The food is good and prices seem to be competitive with other places. Good lunch specials. Staff is friendly. They serve you chips and salsa for free so thats a plus.
