Went to the bakery pulled 4 expired items out asked for a discount. They turned me down said they keep the items in a month and theyre not expired. I said the date has passed placed the items on the counter and showed her. Although there were similar unexpired items I told the lady they were the only ones I wanted and left. Folks I’ve seen this in the meat department as well and other Krogers. One day I’ll go through and fill a cart of expired items and not get the $ 15 an hour somebody gets for effectively not doing their jobs.

I love this Kroger’s. It’s not as fancy as the one on the North end, but it’s still good. This Kroger’s carries a low carb milk called CarbMaster in both original, vanilla, and chocolate flavors. They have a good selection of meats and their vegetable selection is pretty good for a slightly smaller store, too. Their house brands are good and they often have better prices than Hy-Vee on dairy and frozen foods. Yes, it’s not as pretty as the Hy-Vee across the street, but it’s got a good selection and often better prices. One thing. Their utility bill pay is new and staff is not yet aware of how it works. I was told that my water payment would automatically post when I paid it. Today I checked and it had not posted. When I called the Kroger’s, the manager told me that if you pay it before 7pm, it is supposed to post the next day. I paid my bill at 8pm. I’m still waiting to find out if it will post on Saturday or if it waits until Monday. If you’re up against a deadline like I was, you may want to try another authorized payment place or even call the utility and pay the extra $ 1.80 to use a debit or credit card to pay it right away. If you do, tell them that they must email you a receipt so that you can prove that it’s paid. Other than this little misunderstanding, it’s a good store. Be sure to check their ads before you run over to Hy-Vee. You may be surprised at how competitive Kroger’s is(and what they carry).
