I looked all over the store for an ice scraper and a shovel. Being that I’m from Florida, I didn’t really come to Illinois prepared. Anyway, 3 employees walked past me without even making eye contact. So I continued looking around but still, no luck. I asked someone up front where these items could be and they told me to ask someone on the floor. Fair enough.
Every cloud has a silver lining, an employee by the name of David M. not only told me where these items were, but also walked me there. Btw, he is the ONLY reason why this place deserves 3 stars. I asked him for advice on what else a Florida boy would need in 7 degree weather. He spent a good 10 minutes helping me find everything I needed. Thank you, David! If you’re coming from somewhere warm, then you’ve probably never really had to experience the icy roads/​snowy winters like here.
This is just like any other home improvement store. Well, except the lack of enthusiasm here is strong. Seems like no one wants to help. (I got here at 7:20, they close at 8) Hopefully you will have better luck than I did with the service. Still, it’s not a terrible place to shop as there are a ton of merchandise to choose from and prices are fair.

I bought a finishing air nailer 2 days ago. The nailer did not load properly.
They were very friendly, and exchanged the broken nailer for one I verified loaded properly.
No hassle due to my dog eating the receipt either!

This place sucks. They close at 9pm now and have no interest in helping you find stuff when it’s close to closing time

It’s a home improvement store… what can I say. Plenty of stuff, decent prices, the people were fine, though a little improvement in customer service might help improve their sales. Nothing specific, just more of a lack of enthusiasum among the couple of employees I encountered.
Otherwise, the delivery prices were cheaper than a couple other places in town, plus the trucks you can rent from them are generally an even cheaper option than delivery.

I hope it’s possible to finish this review leaving it with 0 stars because that is truly what this Menards store deserves. I have never had such poor customer service somewhere EVERY time I walk into a store.
I once attended this store with my dad to order windows… the customer service person was so rude to us and basically told us WE’D have to find someone else to help us.
More recently, I attended this store to get a new blind. We needed the blind cut so we got someone to cut it for us. Besides having no friendly skills he questioned everything we were asking making us feel stupid. It’s not the first time I’ve hung or bought a blind so just do what I asked of you.
My mom was in search of some putty to hold her gazing ball in addition to me getting the blind. We had 3 high school/​college age kids standing around looking at us like we were stupid for asking for that. They had no clue what we were talking about… and you work in the garden center?! Then when we rounded the corner you had the audacity to look back at us and laugh like we were crazy?!
Sorry Menards, I won’t be returning to this location. You need some serious help with people skills and product knowledge.
