Very nice meal. Sunday noon lunch, snowy Valentine’s day, so not real busy. Large, open and clean dining room with large sushi bar in center. Hostess/waitress was attentive and pleasant. Ordered the more traditional Asian items of General Tsaos chicken and sesame chicken. Both exceptionally flavorful. Served quickly, the food was hot and attractively presented. Ample portions(some for home). Complimentary etimome before the meal. Sampled the California roll sushi. Fresh and bright taste, but I’m far from an expert to assess for the aficionado. Overall good experience, food flavor was the highlight… much better than the standard Asian lunch.

I consider myself a relatively well traveled sushi eater and have eaten sushi all over the country mostly on the west coast. I’m not picky and typically enjoy most dining experiences. This was by far the worst sushi experience I’ve had. My wife and I went on a Monday night. We immediately noticed the table and menu were dirty. The sushi selection was limited compared to other restaurants and we had trouble selecting. Our waitress actually made our sushi which was poorly made, loosely rolled, and didn’t taste very fresh. Strangely, the sushi chef appeared from the back and started working behind the sushi bar after we had sampled our food and we’re ready to give up on the place. I’m not sure if this was an off night for them, but we felt like Gordon Ramsey or Jon Taffer were going to walk in and start yelling at people because it sure needed it. We won’t be returning.

Sushi Ko is decorated nicely inside and surprisingly the prices aren’t bad! We received 25% off somehow(4pm on Thursday), so 4 plates of sushi came to $ 20. The pieces here are a good size. I like the mango sushi. The waitress was ok; the chef was friendly! I would return.

Without a doubt the best sushi in town. Hadi, the sushi chef, has a great personality and has created an great environment to relax and eat. I rarely go to Peoria without stopping at Sushi Ko. I’ve eaten sushi all around the country and I’d put Sushi Ko at the top of them all for quality and atmosphere.

Not the best sushi in town, but not terrible by any means. The chef is as friendly and personable as anyone you will ever encounter in the restaurant biz. Unfortunately, that friendliness seems lost on the other employees who are often quite rude. Their Monday night 25% off special, along with complimentary edamame, goes a long way in making up for their few shortcomings, but after last night’s experience — they have lost my business. Apparently they have a new policy in place — should you do them the favor of placing your takeout order online, they will no longer apply the 25% Monday night discount at pickup. However, if you call and make someone step away from their patrons, or ignore a customer who is waiting to pay, while taking an order over the phone… You will still get the discount. It really makes no sense, and Sushi KO has lost a couple longtime(approx. twice-a-month) customers over a $ 6 discount.

Sushi Ko is one of the genuine Chinese food restaurants in Peoria area. There’s Chinese food menu and also Sushi. Every time we go there, we will order genuine Chinese food. It’s very good taste and remind me a lot of things, like Nanjing Salty Duck, Fuqi FeiPian(sliced beef lung), etc. The boss is nice guy, too.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had eating at an Asian restaurant. I was part of a large group, and I’m well aware that is going to cause delays and some confusion. Also, my part of the party arrived about 20 minutes late, so we knew our food would be behind everyone else’s. Oddly enough, we received our appetizer BEFORE others who had gotten there before. One of my party received her appetizer and meal about ten minutes after arriving. Another received her meal about fifteen minutes after that. I received my meal nearly 30 minutes after my other two had gotten theirs; in short, nearly everyone in my party and at my table was finished before I had gotten my food. No, I did not order something with a long wait time, either. This would have been tolerable had the quality of the food was up to snuff. It wasn’t. The Peking pulled pork was badly textured, oversauced, and contained no fresh element on the plate whatsoever. What happened to the veggies? Basically, I was given a very unappetizing pile of barbecue«pork» with very bland rice on the side. The flavor was not good. My partner ordered an entrée that was supposed to have scallions; the scallions were switched out with green peppers, a vegetable she HATES(although her dish did have better flavor). The appetizer, the pot stickers, was okay, but the dipping sauce was not very good and, and the potstickers were very, VERY small. But to be honest, the worst part of the experience was the service… very bad service. We had no less than five different people that waited on us at some portion of the meal(not our large group as a whole; just my party of three). One of the waiters was… touchy-feely. Not a big touchy-feely guy, but a waiter should never put his hand on your shoulder or hands… it’s just not comfortable regardless of gender or orientation. The same waiter brought out a dish that was wrong(sweet and sour shrimp instead of sweet and sour chicken)…and initially insisted on giving the incorrect dish to the person who ordered, reasoning, «We’re just going to charge you for the chicken.» Okay… what if that person had a food allergy??? Or, simpler than that: what if they just DON’T want the shrimp? I’ve never seen such audacity; thankfully, they did take the dish back and bring back the correct one 30 minutes later. This was my first and last experience at this restaurant. The décor is nice, but the quality of food and service were abysmal. I did not try the sushi — which I heard has a great reputation — for this reason: if you cannot get the basics of restaurant service correct, why should I trust you with such a delicate preparation? Not a good experience.

Excellent experience, just sit at the bar and tell the sushi chef Hadi to make you whatever he wants. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s decent food but at a slightly higher price range. To be honest, I didn’t care too much for their sushi. I don’t particularly hold it against SushiKo because sushi is hard to get right in Peoria. The cooked food on the menu was much better in terms of quality and portion size. I myself ordered the Chicken Curry. It was kind of a miss because the sauce was bland and not representative of curry at all, but at the same time it wasn’t repulsive either. Other members at my table ordered more authentic Chinese dishes such as the Twice Cooked Pork and the Fuqi Feipian(which still had a foul taste). If you must try this place, stick with the things you know and venture out at your own risk.

This place is on the left side of Nick & Willy’s pizza! I only say this because it was a little impossible to find with the restaurant being in the corner and all. Anyway, I am really impressed by this place; the service was great as my glass was never even HALF empty! I ordered the bok choy and shiitake mushrooms dish which came with a little bowl of rice. The sauce that accompanied the vegetables was perfect. My partner order the vegetable sushi combo. Everything was refreshing, there was also complimentary edamame which is always a plus! This place is very clean and has a warm and welcoming ambiance to it. The sushi master walks around and greets guests when he’s not slicing sushi; the staff is very friendly. Come and check this place out, it’s a nice place to relax and have some great sushi/Japanese food!

I went with a Chinese friend who ordered by talking to the owner. I don’t think our dishes were on the menu as they came family-style and were apparently reasonably authentic. Chicken dish was good, a fish dish in a red broth was great. Price was right; really enjoyed the meal. No idea what any of the dishes are called, however.

Mediocre food. Did not honor Unilocal check-in discount when the check came. Make sure you check with them before you sit down.

Best and freshest sushi in Peoria, by far. The owner drives to Chicago once a week to personally select and bring back the fish, and it shows. It’s amazing. The other food is outstanding as well. Highly recommended. If you haven’t tried it… stop by the wholistic grocery store next door first and pick up some Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos and use it in place of soy sauce.

Best sushi in Peoria. Great food, great service. Hadi is a wonderful sushi chef and it’s obvious he loves what he does. Favorites: caterpillar roll, California roll, Boston roll, Inari, Singapore noodles, twice cooked pork.

Pretty good! We came on a Sunday night, I was surprised there weren’t more people there. My husband and I enjoyed the maki sushi we got!(Caterpillar roll and seafood roll for me, tuna roll and a specialty roll for him)

Mediocre would be too kind, abysmal would be too harsh. The tables are sticky, and the place smells like the pizza joint next door(not their fault). The appetizer came out after the food, and tasted weird.(pork dumplings), the knife cuts on the sashimi looked like a 4 year old did them. Sushi was warmer than expected. The only redeeming quality was the tempura shrimp. Service other than late apps was decent though.

Went here with co-workers for lunch today. Very nice atmosphere and good wait staff. First off, I am not a big sushi fan. I don’t mind it, but it has never been something that I would go out of my way for. This place was highly recommended by a guy I work with that really knows authentic Chinese food. We went for the sushi, and it was delicious. This place has swayed me towards going back, just for the sushi. It was fresh, well prepared, with a good balance of flavors. The only downside was the time it took to get the food. It seemed a bit excessive, but the complimentary edamame helped sooth the hunger, and in the end, it was worth the wait.

Best sushi place in Peoria. Also, the best place to try great Chinese food by which I mean authentic Chinese food. Affordable price, large portions and great service. Must try items off the menu — twice cooked pork, chilli shredded pork and dry bean curd, pork stomach with green pepper, Dan Dan mein, Singapore noodles with pork and Shanghai stewed pork. If you like your food spicy — just let them know and they won’t disappoint you. Ask for their special red chilli paste too.
