I went to the attic to purchase a few bedroom items. I actually got really excited because there was a lot of nices items that I liked. So I asked the lady that was working a few questions about the items because I was interested in purchasing the items, and to my surprise she was very rude! I really didn’t think anything of it until I realized she went up to every other customer and asked if they needed help with anything or if they had any questions about what they were looking at. So again I let that slide, I made my way to the counter to buy the items and waited until the other customers paid for their items. When it was my turn to be waited on, the lady left the counter and went to the back and never came back out! The crazy part is, I told my 70yr old grandmother about the story and for her to say the same woman did the same thing to her is just sad! Needless to say, I will NEVER come back to the attic! EVER!!! They treat their African American customers like crap!

I just got a butler’s secretary desk from the attic. The experience was pleasant. Unlike the other reviewers, I picked my furniture up in my own vehicle. There was someone there to help, but my husband and I didn’t need help loading the piece. They have a lot of cool stuff and a lot of crap. Weeks will go by where I see nothing I want, and then the next week I want 3 pieces of furniture! It’s fun to try your luck with the falling prices.(Prices on big items go down every few weeks, so you can try to wait it out but still snatch it up before someone else gets what you want.)

Okay, I’ve purchased several big pieces of furniture from the Attic over the last 3 years. Both times I had furniture delivered, the delivery people scratched or ruined pieces. An upholstered chair had a deep slash across the back where the 2 men shoved it through a doorway. The second upholstered chair had the back fabric pulled back so that the underneath showed. The couch got scratched in several places on the microfiber. A leather loveseat got a 4″ long scratch across an attached back pillow just by the head. This means that unless I keep a throw on it, it looks trashy. When I confronted the owner about the leather loveseat, he grudgingly gave me my $ 69 delivery fee back to me; of course, this didn’t fix the problem. Here’s the truth about the owner – every Tuesday or Saturday, he hires a $ 29 U-Haul, picks up 2 guys and makes a run to the store, stacks up furniture and delivers it. Unfortunately, these are NOT trained movers, so they ruin stuff. And the owner is busy on the phone or doing something rather than watching his«movers,» so you’re on your own. So if you feel comfortable confronting a big, tall, angry guy who is dressed like a homeless person about your furniture being damaged, hey, knock yourself out. From this point on, if I buy something from The Attic, I will hire several guys I know to transport it. I’m tired of paying top price for used furniture to have it ruined while it’s being delivered.

I used to be a regular shopper here, checking out what was new about every other week but as I find other places, I am not sorry to leave the Attic behind. They do have a LOT of stuff but it’s incredibly hard to maneuver in their store(no way could it be handicap accessible) and nice pieces are mixed in with total junk but all priced very high. The last time I bought something, I couldn’t pick it up at the time but I paid and asked if I could come back Saturday afternoon. They said no problem but when I showed up with a man and a truck on Saturday, the item had been moved out of the retail room into the garage next door, into the VERY back! There was only one lady working the counter who obviously was no help with getting my item out so the guy I brought to help had to move everything that was in front of my item and get mine out without scratching anything. Who knows if he was successful! Seriously crappy customer service. When he got my item out, it had a big tag on the front that said«Saturday afternoon pick-up» so apparently they employ people who can’t read.
