Best Ono wrap I have ever had! Freshest veggies and fruits. Highly recommend turning off the road and come here.

What an amazing little gem. Located right on the scenic drive, the farm grows their own dragonfruit, pineapple, bananas, avocado and more. Their smoothies are delicious and their avocado wrap was AMAZING!

Everything was so fresh and delicious! And such a unique fruit salad! Located on the scenic drive off route 19. Worth going for a nice lunch.

Although the menu is limited, lunch was delicious, and it seemed there was something for everyone. A cute little outdoor eatery, the family owned restaurant and smoothie shop was the perfect stop after zip lining in the morning.

My husband and I decided to drive the Hamakua Heritage Corridor to get from Volcano to Waikoloa and stopped at What’s Shakin’ for lunch along the way. He had the turkey wrap and I had the veggie burger. They were both SO big and SO good! I have never been so full from a veggie burger in my life. The meal was a bit expensive for counter service but we both had drinks and added homegrown avocado to our sandwiches. The service was a little slow because a tour group of about 12 that had preordered and it is a staff of 2, one taking orders one making the food, but we weren’t starving or in a rush so it didn’t bother us. I definitely recommend eating here if you want to be outside and something fresh. I would stop here again!

Unbelievable. Really neat experience and food is unreal. They grow their a lot of their own fruit and locally source the rest. Big portions. These ladies can cook! If you are near it don’t miss it! Best lunch of our trip!

We had just visited the botanical garden north of Hilo and wanted lunch. The area had only one choice: What’s Shakin. And a lucky choice it was. A farm that uses its products for shakes and food. I got farmers shake and my husband got a mocha banana shake. We also ordered chicken nachos with excellent guacamole, made from avocados grown on the farm. Huge portion, more than enough for the two of us. Service was a bit slow, largely because it is so popular

I was here at least 3×6 years ago. I don’t remember the smoothies that small, but for almost $ 8 they were small. We watched them make food in the microwave which surprises me. Very expensive for what it is. Nice break on the scenic pass, but bring your wallet.

We came here because of the great reviews and it’s so close by the«Umauma Falls and Zipline Experience»(zipline)… Well, the owners are very friendly and the food is really awesome. My only complain is that it’s a bit pricy(with the food that you get and the price). However I guess since this is a tourist spot so it seems it’s unavoidable… Definitely try the Nacho Grande and the fish wrap. Don’t order the Turkey Sandwich as there is nothing special about the Turkey Sandwich and you can make one easily by yourselves… BTW, the owner seems to be selling this business along with the farm and land(for 3.4 millions) so not sure about the future of this café in the future… By the way there is NO air-conditioning. just a quick FYI…

Smoothies are ok, but overpriced for what it is, and the other assorted and sundry foods and snacks are again, minimal and overpriced… I guess you are out where there is not much available so they can charge what they do and that’s that… take it or leave it. They even charge you a quarter for a small plastic cup for water… pretty cheese in my book… c’mon ladies!

Very friendly group of ladies running this place. They have cool little souvenirs, vulgarly titled natural soaps like filthy pussy and dirty doctor. All for a good clean up. The food was pretty good, pretty pricey. We got chicken nachos, the fish wrap special and a tuna sandwich. And some smoothies. The fruits and veggies are very fresh, refreshing and delicious. The chips, cheese and meat were average. Good place for a veggie or vegan customer. Would definitely go back if I wasn’t concerned about a budget.

Still remembering the awesome meal Sis & I had at What’s Shakin’ over 7 yrs ago, the Mr & I made a beeline soon as we were on that side of the island Sad to discover they no longer carried the veggie black bean tamale, we were happily substituted w/their delish veggie burger Homemade patty, made from taro, this burger held its own without being crumbly & the flavor was deep & rich — sheer awesomeness! Paired it w/their Papaya-Passion Fruit Smoothie & it was heaven as well! Enjoying their lovely grounds, all kinds of fruit trees & surrounding sources for the delights they create, have to say this place continues to be good as it gets

I like to like this place more than I rate it, but the wrap I had was just disappointing. I drove all the way over there cos of all the awesome reviews of the place, it is very cute, and w a vision, at least how I see it, it’s a shack on a huge acres of property that’s for sale. Now let’s talk about wrap, I had the special wrap hot mama’s fish wrap, the fried fish tasted like frozen white fish that’s totally bland and flavorless, they put way too much sprouts in it that it’s overpowering other veggies, I did like the tiny side salads dressed w seseame oils and two pieces fruits(mine was pineapple and banana) that came w the wrap, for $ 16 wrap, I expect much more! I understand we’re in island mode, but wait time was ridiculously painful for my belly!

Service is slow but friendly. Smoothies are all 100% fruit and worth every penny of the $ 8. I wish there was a place like this in SF! Amazing smoothies. Fish wrap was good too. BF liked his roast beef sandwich. Ladies here are amazingly friendly and nice.

2 Stars for the setting and food presentation but it took a VERY long time to get my items. The smoothie was ready first. Lava Java, coffee banana, milk. Straight forward. But would be better if it was more creamy(did they forget the milk) and if they used some ice. Simple Fish wrap was good, not $ 20 good. Came with a piece of banana and a Rambutan for a garnish. Was a nice place to try but don’t think it’s worth a second trip.

What’s shakin? Not much. It was not deplorable service was really friendly, the food was not good. We ordered the fish wrap and a peanut bruddah shake. Fish wrap for the Mrs. The shake for me. Review of the fish wrap seemed frozen fish warmed in a microwave. Blah. The peanut bruddah shake was flat one note and quickly tiresome on the palate. It was also quite expensive $ 20 for two items. Off the road a bit which isn’t a big deal if worth it and in our opinion its skipable.
