Worst service ever. We sat for 15 minutes and never had a server come to our table. 3 people came I after us and they were greeted and brought coffee right away. I guess we are invisible. We will never go to another Bob Evans.

I am really liking what the chain is doing to its branches, cleaning them up with updated café décor and a nice little bakery in front. This chain, the original BE in Perrysburg, has been lucky enough to be revamped, and looks great. The waiting area is now very large, without sacrificing much of the dining room space. Colors are clean and creamy, with much of the old country kitsch deepsixed. I am sad to see some of the antiques and local photos go, but admit that the space definitely needed an update, and the route taken is pleasant. Food and service haven’t suffered for the changes; indeed, it was much improved since my last visit here years ago. I myself had a rather unusual order — cream cheese crepes without blueberry topping(I really dislike blueberries but that was the only topping available). I gather there was a mishap in the kitchen where the gooey compote was added, but the waitress had them remade in a matter of a few minutes. Consequently, they were steaming hot when they arrived. I could have done with a little more cream cheese perhaps, but the crepes themselves were good, if a bit greasy. The batter they use is very delicate and sweet, and the texture fairly firm with a touch of crisp — none of that rubbery or overly thick stuff I often get when I order crepes in the U.S. Meanwhile, my mother ordered a turkey sandwich and my sister some soup and bacon. Both said they were fine. We also split a PB brownie for dessert. It was quite nice, though I think it might have been even better if it had been warmed up a bit more. The only issue we had was one we didn’t realize until a moment ago — the server forgot my Mom’s muffin! Her meal came with a choice of bread, and as the buttermilk spice muffin was an option, she asked for it. It never appeared. However, we never asked since quite frankly we all forgot too. Still, do make sure you ask for your bread if it does not appear with the meal. One thing the BE family is good at is bread! Aside from the muffin mishap, which we didn’t realize was a mishap anyways, the server was very attentive and nice. We were never lacking for refills, nor did we wait too long for food or service(good since my sister who was with us was in a bit of a rush). Overall, solid BE experience. Decent food and service that leaves you full without breaking your wallet. It does seem from my last few visits that the chain is trying to improve not just its interior but its quality and service as well, and if so, they are succeeding so far. Hope they keep it up.
