They are now closed due to land owner decision to turn the property into a minimart. After 25 years and several cooks and great food, it is sad to see it gone. Go to Take A Break in Dryden

They were a great place for breakfast and lunch, but unfortunately they are no longer in business. No sign on the door, no idea of what happened, simply no longer in business.

We landed here by chance when looking for a place for lunch on our way to Wenatchee. Leavenworth was so full with no parking space so we kept driving towards Wenatchee. We were hesitant about the place because of the looks from outside. But oh my we got great service and the food was great. We ordered Bacon deluxe burger, chicken bacon avocado burger w/home fries(they call it homies here), eggs n bacon and pork schnitzel. We loved all four choices and esp. their bacon and homies. Sadly they are moving and opening up a Flying Pig pizza place in Cashmere only a few miles east. We will definitely be back for some pizza and their great service.

Wonderful food. Rustic exterior that might throw you off but upon entering you immediately sense what all the fuss is about. A lot of hand crafted food, A LOT

Amazing breakfast! Had the Nini veggie omelet. Hubby had the«build your own.» Cottage potatoes & hash browns were both fab. Service friendly & fun. Love the crossword puzzles & travia cards — nice touch. Cute décor. Love this place!

My friend and I stopped in for breakfast. Both our dishes were quite good and very filling. She had the one biscuit, one egg, one piece of bacon all with gravy on top. I had the«half» portion of the Haystack scramble. It is definitely big enough for two people. I barely finished it and I could not even fathom one person finishing off the full size portion. It was super delicious. The owners were great and we saw them interact with a few of their regulars and were very impressed. We already recommended it to someone we met that same day who is new to the area. We will be back for sure.

Loved my biscuits and gravy and the ability to do half orders! Service was friendly fast and efficient and you could tell it was home cooking from scratch that came out pippin hot! I took off one star because of the paring lot, no easy way to park and unpaved. Other then that very small issue we will definitely be back for breakfast!

Great people, great food at a good price in a great country setting. Extensive menu. We had Eggs Benedict with bacon not ham, a scramble, pancake, artichoke omelet, crispy hashbrowns and biscuits for three that fed four to the max. Meatloaf was not ready for the breakfast menu and no blueberries as advertised but that was not enough to offset our commitment to rate this five stars… just means we will be back…

I saw the great reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. We were not dissappointed. The food was great and the portions were huge. We ordered chicken fried steak and a scramble. They were both great and plenty of leftovers for breakfast tomorrow. We will be back for sure.

We weren’t quite sure what to expect as we usually eat in CleElum before we come over Blewit Pass into Dryden, WA. We were starving and decided that we wanted a sit down meal. I ordered a vegetable omelet with coffee and my husband ordered eggs bacon and hash browns. The omelet was very good(fresh spinach, sautéed mushrooms, etc.) the only thing I was not used to was a slice of American/Swiss? cheese on top(I prefer shredded and not so much). The hash browns were excellent and a big serving. The coffee was also good and was strong enough. Good rye toast too. My husband’s food was also very good. I had to pack out most of my hash browns because it was just too much. After we worked at our property, we decided to get lunch on our way home. They had a lunch special of roast beef with Swiss on ciabatta bread with fries(I upgraded to sweet potato fries that came with an interesting and delicious spicy/sweet dipping sauce). Plus the dish included a salad bar with homemade soup. I picked the curry cauliflower soup which was delicious but they also had seafood chowder, and two other specialty soups. Again, I brought ½ sandwich and ½ the fries home because it was too much. My husband’s dish was also very good. The price seemed to be the $ 10. $ 12. range. The service was friendly and pretty fast. The atmosphere is folksy but clean(I insist on a clean restaurant environment!) I am glad to find good food at this location because the other restaurant close to the«Big Y» junction is mediocre.

Driven by this place for years. Today I stopped in and BOYAM I HAPPY! Food was fantastic and high quality. Denise, the owner, treated us like family. Guy Fieri is her inspiration and it showed. I will never drive by again. My new fav on the road!

Tried it out for the first time, had a great experience. Food was great, and homemade. They had a lot of options in the menu, including an all you can eat salad bar that was very clean and fresh, and affordable. Definitely a great place to stop whether your traveling or just want a great meal. They were very friendly and attentive too. Again, a great experience, don’t pass it up.

Took a few friends over to try it out for lunch, was glad to find a friendly staff, clean dining room and a simple menu. We all had a burgers and none of us left any of it on the plate. Fries were awesome and prices were reasonable for Leavenworth dining.

I never thought this place would rock but the food was great. The staff was friendly and they even sold the best firewood I ever had.

So we are on our way to go river rafting down the Wenatchee river on Saturday and decided to stop at the Buckboard Café for breakfast. I was very skeptical by the name itself and the look of the café. HOLYMOLEY Was I ever WRONG. The service was EXCELLENT, The food was BOMBDIGITYLICIOUS and the regular customers were very kind. If your heading to Leavenworth this is the place to stop for breakfast! Don’t judge a book by it’s cover!

It’s what we expect as far as service when your out in the sticks, its just a little different. We ordered the patty melt and a cheese burger with a salad. My fries were awesome, we both left full and both plates clean. Price is better here than in town, and its not so uppity.
