Horrible experience. Unresponsive to brokers. Caused extra charges and fees since they couldn’t close in the time period committed to. Agent hung up on my wife after she explained that they need to fix the mistakes they made. Complete amateurs.
Do yourself a favor NEVER work with FirstCal. You will lose more money on closing than you gain from any competitive rate they may quote.

Horrible service. Does not live up to dates and deadlines. They lose paperwork. You have to followup with them and call them hourly daily. They ignore you do no return emails and rude. Will not recommend to anyone.

Tried to find the Unilocal page for George Kalis in Fairfield, but I could not locate it. Hands down, George and Dave in Fairfield are the best at what they do! As an insurance agent, I run into many «bottom feeders» in the mortgage business, but George and Dave are top notch. George is a wizard and finds ways to make it work for his clients… he is incredibly knowledgable and treats people like family

And she is backed by a great team at FirstCal. She makes it so easy, because she knows what she’s doing… We didn’t have underwriting surprises or last minutes crazy conditions. If you are looking for service, quality and strees-​less loan process, then Ali is the wait to go!
She offered excellent, knowledgable and prompt service. He assisted us in getting approved for a loan when we were still negotiating with the seller. In addition, she was exceptionally skilled in getting us a great interest rate. When she needed a document, she precisely described what she needed. I recommend working with Alison Schellenberg at FirstCal to get a solid loan and professional service.

If you have the simplest mortgage need, First Cal may be able to help. If you add the slightest amount of complexity such as a 2 unit residence, you are on your own. They will promise, posture and pretend to perform. Deal with them at your own risk. Their lack of ability to work beyond the simplest repertoire may leave you with unintended financial liabilities. When you try to present your case, the «professionals» become unresponsive. In fact, the CEO is a model for this lack of responsiveness even after he promises a solution. We have completed multiple transactions worth millions of dollars with them, but never again!
