So I have had several appointments at Midas before but for some reason the Petaluma one is the worst wait time. First pet peeve, when you have a customer in line ready to check out focus on them your priority is not the other person on the phone. At the spur of the moment I needed both of my car’s windshield wiper blades replace… you’ve got to be kidding me 1 hr to replace blades. i know business i am a college grad and grad student but being slow hurts your BUSINESS. I do not recommend this place only a last resort. Blah!!!

These guys were fantastic. They were able to get my tires in and on, brakes done, alignment… aligned, and an oil change in less than 24 hours. They were friendly and funny, and they charged and extremely reasonable rate for everything I needed done. This shop does deserve the poor ratings it has.

This is base on going in for a oil change that I can a coupon for 19.99. When it and first that said it was for oil 10 – 30 only so they where going to change the full and take off only 10. Still did not use the price set at 19.99. Did give me 19.99 of the full price. Still came out to twice to what I should have paid. Not going back hear.

I had my rear brakes done at Midas replacing rotors and brake pads with no issues other than worn down brake pads. I have since had to go back now 3 times since they haven’t been able to fix an error they made while replacing the pads. This has all occurred in roughly 3 months time and I have not been offered a refund in any capacity. I will never use Midas and in particular this location again.

My wife ran over something large and metal on the freeway. My muffler was struck, leaving me me with a rattling mess. I expected $ 100 «sorry honey» incident. On a whim, I took my car to Midas in Petaluma on the way home. They took a look, fixed it for free, and sent me on my way in less than 20 minutes.
Excellent service, courteous employees, highly recommended.

Some kind folks pointed out my flat tire while I was on my lunch today. I stopped at the nearest gas station which happened to be the Valero on Petaluma Blvd. whereas they denied me use of the compressed air because I hadn’t bought anything (kind of wrong of her to do that as I have bought gas numerous times before but the gas clerk knows not what she does lol)…so I looked over and Midas happened to be right there.
As the daughter of a successful mechanic (who has ran and continues to operate his shop for 25 years and where I grew up and worked at), I NEVER go to dealers and especially corporate mechanic shops because of how untrustworthy they can be, but I found myself at Midas today getting my tire filled with air and checked for a leak and even plugged FOR me for free by Joel who was very kind, attentive, and knew what he was doing. They did not allow me to pay them anything and worked so quickly I went back to work and even had time to eat my lunch.
They are awesome!

These guys are so great– super friendly, accommodating, polite and knowledgeable. They always answer my questions, and do so with integrity; I never feel like they are «up-​selling» (which unfortunately, I’ve found to be a frequent problem when dealing with car maintenance, especially considering that I’m blonde, and female, and that often translates to «I’m stupid and will buy anything» in many people’s minds). All of that said, Robert and Justin helped me prep for a big trip at the last minute, with great attitudes and service. It was quick and convenient, which in my mind, is the only kind of car maintenance that makes me smile. Thank you!

Lexy and the boys there were right on today! they took me right in and rotated my tires as well as giving me an honest eval on my brake pads wear and tear and all for free! all this after being quoated 25 $ and no way today at good year. a honest working mans shop! lorenzo moreno 2/​16/​15.

I had been pleased with Midas and trusted they would treat me fairly a, with fair prices. I need a battery and had it replaced. I knew that my accent didn’t take a normal battery, but was shocked when the price was 239.00. I checked other places and the highest was 170.00. Never had the problem before.
I was also told I needed $ 1200+ worth of work done– shocks, struts, brake and Transmission flush. I won’t be going back to Midas after this experience.
Follow-​up: Found a great Car service and repair shop. I didn’t tell them what went on at Midas. There inspect actually found the items Midas wanted to repair fine. I ask them if they were sure — they stated they all were in fine shape.

Except told only works with 10 – 30 oii not 5 – 30 oil on my truck therefore it will be $ 45 + …I had got up early on saturday with an advanced appointment & they had just done my tires & oil change on my honda 2 months before, for the $ 19.99 with 5 – 30 oil & the same truck 4 months ago for $ 19.99 5 – 30 oil. All from the same card, They don’t value repeat business i guess– New Owners
Tire deal by the way was a good deal for 4 with alignment on the honda though

I continued to bring my car to Midas for oil changes since my last review. In the past year, however, my experiences haven’t been so positive. Like others, I got the oil change coupon run around, but most recently, I was told I needed $ 1200+ worth of work done– shocks, struts, some kind of flush. I got a second opinion, and was told that my car is in fine shape.

This review is based on my November 26^th, 2014 visit to Midas, in Petaluma California. This particular Midas has been my go to place to get my oil changed and tires rotated.
I always get the coupons in the mail so it’s a convenient way to save on regular maintenance for my car. The coupons advertise, «$ 19.99 Conventional oil change with tire rotation OR $ 10 OFF regularly priced ‘High Mileage or Full Synthetic’ oil.» Please also note that this coupon only works for up to five quarts, my vehicle is a 1998 Acura 3.5RL, which only needs 4.5 quarts. My car is over 15 years old with over 185,000 miles. I don’t expect it to last must longer so I prefer not to get the expensive oil for its oil changes. It has worked perfectly fine for 185,000 miles, all on conventional oil.
I scheduled an appointment on the Midas website, two days in advance, for an oil change and tire rotation. This appointment was immediately confirmed by a Midas representative. I brought my car in at 8am, handed the man at the counter my keys and wheel lock and sat down. The man, for about ten minutes went to my car wrote down some notes and returned behind the counter to type up my invoice for the maintenance to be performed.
At first glance, I noticed on the invoice that the total charges would be over $ 50. I pulled out the coupon from my pocket and the man immediately said, «That won’t work here.» I asked him, «Why not? I only want conventional oil.» He said, «This price is quoted for conventional oil.» I then pointed out on the invoice where it CLEARLY STATES, «HIGH MILEAGE OIL.»
He then began to stutter and made some BULL excuse about how the place is under new ownership and that they don’t carry conventional oil anymore.
I then said, «Is what you’re telling me, is you guys don’t carry conventional oil? At a place that changes oil?» He then made ANOTHER BULL excuse saying, «Well we don’t carry 5W-​30 conventional oil.» Which conveniently is the oil my car requires.
At this point I was sick of being lied to and sick of his attempts of trying to scam me. I took my keys and wheel lock and told him I’d go somewhere else.
I will be writing a formal complaint to Midas headquarters to make them aware of their unethical business practices.

My wife went in with a coupon for a $ 20 oil change and they charged her $ 50… That was with $ 10 off… Our car just takes normal oil. They tried to sell her on many items… Like an alignment that we needed… They were unaware we had one the day before when we got new tires someplace else.

I am NOT a big writer but my experience at Midas in Petaluma was extraordinary! We drove up from So. Cal. and hit some debris which tore a plastic undercarriage piece which was dragging under our car (making God awful grinding noise). We needed to get back home and couldn’t stand the noise. Without delay, a very nice guy named Robert Schlaser, looked at the car and within minutes had it up on the rack. 15 minuter later he handed us our keys and wished us a safe trip home. He would NOT accept any money, just asked us to share our experience, good or bad. Well the rest is history. I will time our next tire purchase around another trip to Sonoma State! Thank you Robert. In addition, it is nice to have a car repair shop close to our daughter’s school in which a father can trust. You have made a customer for life.

A change in mgmnt is what this place needed.
Previous mgmnt, not trustworthy. Told a part was on order for 3 weeks, never showed up. New mgmnt could not find the order, ordered the new part, apologized for previous mgmnt and gave a free oil change for all the hassle I went through.
That is customer service! Date of service, ⁹⁄₁₅.

I’ve been a customer of Midas for several years. I’ve found them to be extremely professional, and accommodating. Love And trust Scott, the lead mechanic!

I went to Midas today and am very happy I did.
They inspected my car right away, and walked me throughout the results.
Rob, the person who assisted me, explained what my car needs, and how much it would cost, approximately. No pressure. They were friendly and did they job fast.
I plan to come back soon.

0 effing stars! For goodness sake, the LIES!!! Came in to get ONE tire changed because there was a screw lodged in the ONE tire. This Justin at the counter-​can only assume that he’s the manager looks high first off tried to upsell my one tire to all tires changed because they’re getting worn out. Gave me a quote invoice of $ 599 including service, tried to convince me that no-​one can beat that price (my car is a base model 2003 Chrysler pt cruiser). I said just one tire please, quoted me for the outrageous price of $ 142+ for ONE tire. I was desperate because I needed errands done so I agreed. I got dropped off home thinking that they wouldn’t take long but oooh boy was I wrong. I called in an hour later and Justin told me that it will be done in another hour. I said ok, thank you –mind you I’m annoyed at this point, it doesn’t take that long to change the tire. So I get dropped off at Midas an hour later my car is missing!!! I asked where the car was and the LIES started rolling off of Justin’s tongue. The car is in Napa somewhere because that’s where the corporate location is located and that the tires needed to get changed there (no explanations as to why, I just assumed they didn’t have the tire available at this location). I’m so mad at this point, my annoyance obvious to him for sure. They’re using up my gas driving around the car. I was told it needed changing ASAP, why the F are they driving it to Napa to get tires changed if the tires are as they say «really bad»? Ooohhhh the LIES, I really wanted to kick his balls right then and there. This effing a-​hole. Remember stay away from THIS MIDAS AT ALL COSTS! JUSTIN will milk you for money, condescending prick. Triple negative 0 STARS!!!

Last year I had some free time and in between appointments a. So I stop in to get my tires rotated and balanced. I was informed that my breaks and rotors where bad and in need of replacing.
Here’s the thing, I replace brakes and rotors a couple of weeks prior. They told me that my truck was unsafe to drive.. I went to the dealership to get the tires rotated and asked them to look at the breaks and rotors while they were at it.
When they rotated and balance my tires and they told me that the breaks and rotors where in excellent condition.
Bottom line… Don’t go their.

If I could put zero stars I would. The manager is rude, gives you attitude. I don’t know how this place is still in business. Go some where else!!!
Got a quote for $ 300 to replace my brakes. Called back saying the repairs would be over $ 1400. Came in to get my car and the manager baulked at me when I couldn’t afford that. Ended up getting my rear brakes done. Because it seemed that I had to.
The worst part was trying to get refunded for my warranted brake pads. The manager gave me the run around and flat out lied that he had to go to corporate to get me my refund.
If I had more time I would stand out front with a picket sign saying «horrible business, keep on driving»
Big upset!!!
