This place is great. We had beer, wings and the pulled pork sandwich with a side salad. Everything was great. The hot wing were very crispy and saucy, aka delicious. My favorite was the house smoked pulled pork. It was perfectly smoked and had a nice, sweet KC style bbq sauce, served on a homemade hoagie roll. The beer selection is huge. Being from out of town, I loved that they had a lot of local beers available which allowed us to try something different. They also had a lot of sours on tap which are very difficult to find. The location is fantastic! They have indoor and outdoor seating right along the water. The outdoor seating is covered so it can be enjoyed all day and there is plenty of seating both inside and outside. We sat inside. They had about 7 tvs throughout the inside playing various sports. The service was great. They have plenty of servers. You don’t have the situation of one person covering the bar and one person covering all the tables(or one person doing both). We were constantly being checked on and asked if we would like another round. The prices were exactly what you would expect for hot wings, beer, and a sandwich. The wings were $ 9 for a 10pc, $ 11 for the pulled pork hoagie w/side salad and the beers were like $ 5/each. Beer prices ranged from $ 5-$ 12, depending on the quality. Overall a great place to eat, grab a beer or both! The waterfront view is awesome and is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a beer. Definitely will be going be going back and would recommend to anyone.

I loved it when they had the pita and steak. Went back for my birthday and it was removed from the menu. I ended up having their version of a Ceasar Salad which was just two lettuce wedges with small amount of dressing on top. Not a pleaser. If one is heavily into pork — this is the place for you. The beers are delicious and the waiter knew his business. He also stated that the steak pita was a big hit. I cannot return until the menu differs as I do not eat pork nor have meat with cheese. Taps used to be the location of Steamers’ Gold when they moved from across the slough(river). I was a regular customer at Steamer’s Gold and it is highly missed. Petaluma needs them back badly!

We had reservations at Everest, the Indian restaurant next door and we decided to grab drinks and appetizers here since we were two hours early waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. Food is OK, not great. Drinks are alright. If your into wine, then this place isn’t for you. They do have a pretty big beer menu which is a plus. Why I’m actually giving this place 3 starts is for the fabulous water views and patio seating! If your looking to have a relaxing afternoon/night with a scene, then try this place out.

I went here on Saturday evening with a friend. It was kind of a fluke that we ended up here, but it was a happy mistake because it had a beautiful view and the ambience was perfect. based on a recommendation from our waitress, we both tried the Hefeweizen, which is a German Wheat beer. We both liked it because it was not bitter, but nice and smooth for a darker beer. Perfectly paired with our food. We both chose burgers. Hers was lamb and mine was a regular beef burger. My friend said that she liked the burger because the lamb was not overcooked or gamey, plus, the onions were sauteed devinely. She said it was nice and juicy and oh so tender. My burger was also cooked to perfection with a lovely local creamy Chevre Goat Cheese that was to die for. It also had pesto which balanced it well. We had garlic fries to share and there was a perfect amount of garlic! The waitress was bubbly and attentive and really answered our questions thoroughly. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food menu was very limited in my opinion, but I will definitely go back.

Always love coming to Taps – we’ve been coming to Taps through their two locations and they’ve always had great service, great food, a great atmosphere, and a great selection of beers on tap. We are regulars s on all account, but Sunday brunch is definitely one of our favorites, with their bottomless mimosas and amazing Crab Benedict and Breakfast Burrito… and for dinner, the fried brussels, salt and pepper wings, and the Bistro Burger are perfection. Their servers, Meghan and Charlie have been there to take care of us for as long as we can remember and do an amazing job of creating community with all of their customers, along with the rest of the great staff on site. Definitely a Petaluma staple–

Great atmosphere. On a busy Saturday the service was spot on. Our server was not at all annoyed that we asked for 5 tastes and was very friendly and helpful. Great burgers and fries. Sausage sampler was also awesome. Would highly recommend

Absolutely love this establishment. Amazing beer selection, great food, good people. Megan and Charlie are the best servers, the customer service is unreal! The Sunday brunch is awesome, the breakfast burrito is my favorite, can’t say enough great things about Taps!

Great place in downtown Petaluma to drink, eat, and socialize. not to mention, outdoors seating in the SHADE! Lagunitas Brewery was MADNESS, we should have just came straight here(no seating ANYWHERE and long lines to get your beer =_=). ah, well, next time. Busy, but not crowded, and service is quick and friendly. A good variety of beers on tap!

I really enjoyed this place. I actually wanted to back the next night. The beer selection was diverse and unique as well as the menu selection. The bartender was knowledgeable and seemed to know quite a bit about the beers on tap. I don’t live in the area but if I did, this would be a cool and trendy place to have a few brews.

This is a great place near the river to have a beer and hang out with friends or family. They have a large selection of beer on tap, which changes every so often, so every time you come here, there is something new to try. Their servers are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I love their pork belly mac and cheese, and their crazy Abe fries. Definitely stop by here if you are in the downtown area!

First time here and it is Valentine’s Day. Because of this, we knew it would’ve busy. We waited 30 minutes for a table and was told they would call us on our cell phone when table was ready. They must have been short staffed because they only sat ½ the restaurant. A table of 5 that came 20 minutes after us was sat before us. Upon seeing this, I went to the hostess to check on our table. She could not find us on list. I found it & it had been crossed off. She said she had just called us. Nope, she called the person’s number AFTER us. That person was behind us pissed thinking we took his table! After we finally got a table, we ordered food only to have waitress tell us 3 of the things we wanted were sold out. So needless to say, we left not eating there. We won’t be back.

OK since living in Petaluma for nearly 10 months I feel its necessary to update my review. We gave it another try and another and another and another and another and now we bring friends! If there is one thing I have learned over the years is to always give second chances, Petaluma Taps is our«go to» place to chill with a beer and hang out with friends.

Loved this place. The beer selection is extensive. The service on a Saturday afternoon was super friendly and helpful. The location is fun overlooking the water, very close to downtown. Food was bar food food but with a couple off notes — the smoked chicken wings were way over smoked and the tacos flavor was very muddled and a little bitter. The Brussel sprouts were great.

Giving 3 stars for the great beer selection and friendly staff. Today the food was different; pulled pork was more like pork in chunks and the stage 2 wings were different in flavor and different in texture. I noticed its not the same wings like before; must be a different vendor they may be using, im crossing my fingers Taps didnt cheap out to Foster Farm wings. I really like the atmosphere and people, i plan on keeping this my number 1 Petaluma spot for beer and wings.

Ordered quite a bit and was disappointed with everything. It was just sub pat especially for the price. Poutine came out warm and cheese was cold and not melted and gooey like it should be. Abe fries flavors were right could have used bacon just an idea. The side salad was an insult 2.50 for costco spring mix and two grape tomatoes come on! Tree hugger sandwhich sounded so good on paper but was dry and plain tasting saved by the natural flavors by the portabello mushroom. Chuck wagon burger 13 bucks for a Mcdonald sized burger with chicharones on it and some microwaved pulled pork. How did I end up here!!! Oh right the extensive beer menu. Ya beer menu good that’s about it. Drink and move on don’t eat here. Save the money and wasted calories. Service was good though.

Beer Selection = 5 stars… lots of options Food = 3 stars… kind of *bleh* Location = 5 stars… right on the river with indoor and outdoor options. Staff = 4 stars… some are great, others are average We come here occasionally for beer and football and may have some wings, but generally head elsewhere if we start to get hungry as the food really isn’t all that great. There are plenty of TVs with sports and ESPN if that’s what you are looking to do but it’s loud if you are just looking to hang out and have an intimate conversation. Anyway, it’s a great place for a beer and a game as long as you know what to expect.

We came in the other day for happy hour. Had a great time. Awesome selection of beers, and the bartender was very knowledgable about them. Nice view. Seating is a bit uncomfortable, like they don’t want you to stay for more than a beer or two. We split some apps, that were good, but nothing remarkable that set Taps food apart from others. I wish they would come up with some sort of beer sampler flights. There is so much wonderful potential here to do something and really set them apart from other bars.(just my two cents)

This place has cool seating outside. The Mac and Cheese was basic and the burger was good. All and all an average place. I think it is a little odd though that they only allow you to taste 1 beer, first time for everything I suppose, but it left me a bit off pudding.

Nice selection of brews on tap. The beers rotate with seasons and featured brakes which is cool. Get to try alot of things i might not otherwise try. Great location on the river. Nice natural lighting when the sun is still up. Service is attentive and friendly. Food is maybe a step above typical pub food but i come for the suds! Bottoms up!

Once upon a time, before Taps moved, whenever my family was in Petaluma we would go there for lunch. To our friends we would rave about the heart-attack-inducing, but oh-so-good-and-worth-it, hotdogs and its comfortable atmosphere. Then Taps moved. We went for lunch pretty early on after the move and were disappointed that suddenly the wonderful list of hotdogs had vanished and what was left was disappointing. Though we did enjoy the Jenga. We thought the reason we were disappointed was just because of the recent move and they would need a little while longer to get back on their feet — even so, we couldn’t be coaxed back for some time. Today my dad and I decided to give it another chance. Their giant list of hotdogs was still missing, there were still a couple, but its beer list was still as long as ever. I got the Taps Burger and fries, and it just wasn’t good — to put it lightly. The burger was soggy and flavorless, and the fries didn’t seem done. Although my dad liked his hotdog he agreed with me about the fries. Maybe this review is too based on the nostalgia of being a kid, downing a BLT hotdog and cherry-coke and laughing with my parents — but maybe it’s better that I always remember it that way than think of the lunch that I had today. It’s unfortunate that their move seemed to take away what was good about it — because even Jenga will not be able to save this place on its own. The location is beautiful and the waitress was a very nice woman, but whatever lovable magic this place used to have was lost — only to be replaced with soggy burgers. Which means that, for us, Taps has run out of chances.

It is hard to go wrong with a really amazing view of the Petaluma river and a tap beer list of 30 or so great beers. We went on a Wednesday night and the place was PACKED, probably because the weather was beautiful that evening. The service was friendly and very attentive(particularly because of how busy they were). We each had two beers, both of which were interesting and not the«same old, same old»(although they did have Anchor Steam and some of the other staples if you are not wanting to venture out.) The only reason I give four stars instead of five: the food menu is pretty limited(standard pub faire but not a lot of choices) and the seats were not seats but instead benches. I would have preferred a chair with a back(even if it is cheap and durable). Bottom line, go on a nice afternoon or evening, enjoy the beer and the view and have a burger.

Hello, I am a California native! This is the first time I’ve ever been to Northern California and the server, Justin, completely resisted my order of alcohol because he thought that I was drunk! If I was seriously intoxicated as this sever, Justin, thought I was, would I be incompetent enough to write this review? Seriously there are other better and welcoming places in the area that you could go to because this place is not worth it! They food isn’t even good!!! When the server, Justin, asked if everyone was doing okay I said I wanted a beer and he said he didn’t like my attitude! He was really mean and I felt very uncomfortable! I will never come back to this place, ever!

After parking the car in the downtown area, our noses led us to Taps. When it is busy, if you don’t mind(we didn’t), they have community table style seating outdoors. And in our true form, we ordered a few things to try some dishes out. The brussel sprouts were the most memorable. It was like we couldn’t get enough. My next favorite was the root beer. It reminded me of how root beer is supposed to taste(flash from the past). My husband loved his burger and beer. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned bringing a sweatshirt with you. When the breeze picks up in the evening… brrrrr. But it’s a wonderful location, right on the river, that will bring a smile to your face.

Taps located in Petaluma. This is a good brewery with delicious food! Definitely not your average brewery with pub food. A wide variety of beers on tap with delicious, quality food. We had the salt & pepper wings which are awesome. I am a sucker for chicken wings, and salt and pepper. Winning! We split the chuckwagon burger — bison, pork belly, hush puppy strings and mustard BBQ sauce(which I am now determined to learn how to make). Let me just say, Wow! Not too greasy, and you can taste every ingredient with every bite! For drinks I had the spiced chai cider made by Schilling. That in itself is dessert! I’m always one to order a beer but wow this cider was too good. The kind that is not too sweet, bubbly, a little bit of a bite, and the hint of spice. Yum. I will be back for this! So if you’re in the north bay, coming back from wine country, or looking for a good spot to stop for lunch or dinner, check it out! You won’t go wrong.

I guess I’m not one for dive bars, and I am definitely not one for overly crowded and loud dining. That said, I do love me some beer, and when I heard that Taps carried my all time favorite on tap, I knew I had to make the effort. The first time I tried Taps, I just went to the bar and ordered a gorgeous, cold, perfect glass of Duchesse de Bourgogne. The bartender actually seemed surprised that I knew about the Duchesse, which really is one of the world’s best beers, but has sort of a low following. If you haven’t had the overwhelming pleasure and delight of the Duchesse’s company, go hit up Taps and meet her, it will be worth your while. ;) At that time though, it was packed and late, so I vowed to return and try the food another day. The subsequent and likely last time I went to Taps, we ordered drinks, stood by the bar and waited for our table for an hour when we were told it would be 20 minutes. We ended up ordering garlic fries, which were a terrible mess, the fries couldn’t hold any flavor, and all the garlic and salt fell off into the bottom of the basket. Next, we ordered the stage 2 spicy wings, and stage 3 for dip, which were deliriously hot and wonderful, but low on actual meat. Mom ordered the garden salad, which unsurprisingly was quite bland, given that it’s from a meat-centric pub, but it was beautifully plated. For our meals, my dad ordered the Pulled Pork sando, which despite the recommendations of my coworker, was extremely dry and the bread was on the stale side. I ordered the Chuck Wagon burger, which sounded like a delightful cacophony of bison, hush puppies, and seared pork belly. I ordered my burger medium, but it came out well done, and gritty. It must have been a bad day with the bread distributor because my roll was also stale and dry like my dad’s. With an experience like that, we didn’t even look for dessert, and left with the setting sun. I can see this place as the perfect spot for those looking for a crowded bar scene, but it’s not for me, and I will not likely return. Plus I can see the Duchesse anytime I want, as she makes frequent appearances at Hopmunk, which has never served me a bad meal. One star for location, with gorgeous panoramic views of the Petaluma waterways, one star for the Duchesse.

Taps seems to have a lot of mixed reviews but I’ve been here twice and I loved it! The first time I came was on a Sunday night. They were really packed and everyone was having a blast with the giant Jenga game they have on the patio. We were seated right away and the food came fairly quick for as busy as they were. The service was alright. I had their garlic fries. I think it’s a mix with something other than garlic and it wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t bad! They also have a huge selection of beers! The second time I came was yesterday around 4pm. Not very busy and just a few people at the bar so we decided to sit outside. Our server was great! I wish I got his name. I’d give him 5 stars for his awesome service. He was super friendly and very knowledgable about the beers. With such a large drink menu they let you sample a shot of the beers before you order it. It definitely saves you from ordering something new and not liking it. It happened to be wing Wednesday yesterday so the salt & pepper wings were only 50cents each — 10 for $ 5 when it’s normally like $ 7.95. They were delicious! I don’t remember what the other wings I ordered was called but they were good, just not as good as the salt & pepper wings. They taste like home made wings — how my mom or grandma would make them so it was a little nostalgic. In all, this place has a fun atmosphere and it’s inexpensive. I’m going to be coming back all the time.
