Had lunch the other day with friends. I had black bean chicken. My friends had Mongolian beef and a shrimp lunch. We all enjoyed our lunches. Service was good too. No complaints at all. I’ll be back for sure.

Tucked into a strip mall with a Lucky supermarket. Came here for lunch on a Thursday. Walked in and nobody there except 4 folks seated. Went to the restroom — which was nice and clean. When I came out a lady was there with a to go order and asked me if me if I had ordered to go. I said no I wanted to sit down. She just waved her hand and said«anywhere» then worked on checking the to go order. I looked around and found a pile of menus, took one and sat down. She returned with water and took my order soon after. Ordered the lunch special with won ton soup, brown rice and spicy Szechuan beef. As others have said, soup was watered down and a little bland but decent. Food came out quickly. Rice was good. I was really disappointed at the spice level of the beef. It was about a 1 or 2 on a scale of 5, not the 3 or 4 I expected. Beef was fried then mixed with onions, bell pepper and some water chestnuts. Good sauce. I heard two other folks order fried rice so that might be a way to go. Quick service, okay food. Won’t go out of my way to come back, but decent.

Very good food. I have been here for lunch 3 times now. Lunch comes with soup, appetizer, rice and your choice of vegetable, chicken, beef, or shrimp. All lunches are less than $ 9.00. I have had the schezwan beef and walnut prawns. Both very good.

This is my go to place for chinese food. The service is a little slow but the food is awesome!!. My toddler loved their wonton soup and my husband of course their mongolian beef. I tried a little of everything and their flavors are always on point. We are definetely planning to go back soon. Unless you want to test your patience I would suggest you call in your order for pick up but we are fine with the wait, the food is sure worth it.

I went December 9th, 2015. Arrived a liitle before open time of 11:30. I couldn’t wait to try their dim sum. No one showed up to open the place. Dark closed up. No sign on the door that they would be closed?! No message on phone… VERYDISAPPOINTED. All signage. and sites all said 11:30 am open time…

In the continual pursuit of good chinese food I finally found myself at the door step of The Canton restaurant. Having tried a few places in Petaluma my wife and I just couldn’t find a Chinese food place we liked. Certain ones were over priced others just didn’t delivery on flavor. Well that all changed when we came to The Canton. We’ve been here a few times both for the lunch special. It is a great way to get a nice portion at a great price. Bonus is that they also offer dim sum during the lunch special. I’ve tried the shrimp dumplings, the crab stars, and the steamed pork buns. All were very good, a nice way to supplement the lunch special and not have to pay to much extra for another entrée or a full size app. This is a nice little find, good food, good prices and excellent service. This is definitely my go to Chinese food joint.

The Canton has definitely grown on me. It’s rarely busy so I can trust that I’ll get excellent service every time. As a regular, they always treat me like family. The food is traditional and tastes great.

We went there to have dinner and when we walked in the lady said«were too busy»…mind you there was maybe 5 out of the 15 tables full. After I mentioned it was ok we would sit and wait the 15 min to get our food she still proceeded to push us out… definitely we will not go to this place again. We wanted to try something different but will stick with our good Chinese place that we love… City Chopsticks… no matter how full they are, they are always happy to see you walk in…

Second time coming here. Food is ok not bad. Wait time is ok and its very clean. I had the lunch Special and comes with soup. So is good a little watered down but flavor still good. I got sweet and sour soup. My dish had fried rice which was really good. And also chick and green beans was also really good. I would come back if I’m around for sure. Good service. And fast aswell!

VERYGOOD Chinese food! My family has been ordering take out for YEARS and we have never been disappointed! The sizzling rice soup is my favorite and they give you so much! i don’t know about you but i love day old cold Chinese food and some places just falls apart over time and gets gross. the Canton’s does not! I live in another town but i drive down just for their take out. and it is very reasonably priced compared to others.

Theres a reason why I go to San francisco /east bay to get Chinese food and that is because thats where you find authentic Chinese food. This place is not bad but they fill their food with water chestnut to make it look like theres a lot. We ordered Seafood egg drop soup and it had chunks of water chestnut and it honestly tasted like fish sauce. We asked the waiter if the spicy prawn was the same as salt and pepper prawns and she said I dont know and didnt offer to ask another waitress or the cook until I asked her to. First of all, it would be a good idea for the waitresses to know the menu. Luckily, they’re pretty nice. The spicy pork weren’t spicy at all and I tasted more batter than meat but the flavor was good. The honey walnut shrimp was average. I definitely prefer driving to the city and actually enjoy my Chinese food.

Our party of five had the fixed menu which had extra dishes including shrimp in lobster sauce. All were really good and made our dinner pretty special. Last time I ate/reviewed I was not impressed but tonight I am adding a star so FOUR stars it is; Canton has the quality.

I went here recently on a Wednesday at lunch and the place filled up which surprised me since it always looks a little deserted as I drive by; there were many take out orders as well. We tried the Spicy and Crunchy Szechuan Beef — excellent, not goopy and too sweet like so many Americanized Chinese places. The Sa Cha Garlic Beef ordered off the dinner menu was also very, very good. I would order both of them again and don’t know how I’ll try new things there now dang it. So we also tried the dim sum Pan Fried Turnip Cake(very good if you’ve ever had these and liked them; maybe an acquired taste) and the dim sum Sesame Seed Puff(very good). I’d also order these again. I think I have finally found a my go-to Chinese place in Petaluma. There was only one waitress and she was very busy but she kept very good track of who was next, etc.

BEST Chinese I’ve EVER had! My boss goes here for lunch quite often so I thought I would try it so I bought fried rice chowmeigne and Orange chicken… I order simple cause I don’t like change but VERY picky with the taste and texture of foods. The rice was PERFECT the chowmeigne wasn’t greasy like other places and the chicken was the perfect combo of sweet and tangy. Will DEFINITELY be going back!

Reasonably priced food with large portions! I love this place, I will drive from Marin to Petaluma just to get GREAT chinese food! The customer service is on point, always refilling our water. My husband and I love spicy food and the owner knows perfectly. Take my work and try it out, the atmosphere is peaceful and the location is perfect, why eat anywhere else?

I’ve never had a bad dish from this restaurant. We eat there, or get take out whenever work goes late or just too tired to cook. I won’t name dishes because they’ve all been really good… Very nice owners.

Consistently delicious Chinese dishes and dim sum(yummy Har Gow and Potstickers). I am so glad that I found this restaurant! So far all of their stir fry sauces are distinctly different. They also provide spicy chili sauce as a condiment if you ask for it. Also, I took pics of the menu(my camera isn’t great) as they don’t have a website. They also have $ 4.00 rice bowls which I don’t see on the menu but are advertised on the windows.

Was looking for a spot to eat during lunch with a coworker. First thing I noted was that it was empty at noon time on a Thursday. Odd. Ordered the sizing rice as well as some dim sum entrees. The sizzling rice didn’t have any flavor. And there was no chicken :(. The shrimp in the broth as well as the shrimp in the dim sum entrée had a weird taste to it. Obviously I should of known something was up when it was empty.
