I want Peterborough Music to be decent, but the store falls short in a number of areas, and is more a glorified lesson studio then it is a serious music store. The storefront is covered in signs to the point of aesthetically ruining the look of the store. You can barely see into the store due to all the signs. Once inside the interior of the store is cluttered and messy. They have no decent electric guitars or amps. The selection of strings and accessories is very minimal, and they are often out of the most popular brands of strings. I’ve also gone to the store during business hours on multiple occasions and found a «Be back in…» sign. This is unprofessional and inconsiderate to your customers. Musicians have band practice and shows to get to, they don’t want to drive 10 minutes to a store that is suppose to be open, only to find it the store closed and have to turn around and go to the other local music store. It only takes this sort of negative experience happening once or twice before people will just stop shopping there. Even when the store is open, half the time they don’t even have my brand/gauge of strings, which is the one of the most common brands. Peterborough Music is in a great location and has potential, but needs to clean the place up, stick to it’s hours, and get the basics right.
