Denny’s

For what Denny’s offers with food and the 24hr world. I would rate the food and service here a lot better then normal. They have recently remodeled the location. Maybe 6 months ago. With that being said, we have a hit or miss on the food/​service. Few times we have gone he food was horrible and the service was absent. If you come when one of the waiter or waitress are in a good mood then you should have a good service.

I’m from Chicago and never had Denny’s before. I always thought it had a bad reputation, boy was I mistaken! I loved my experience here. Our waitress was extremely friendly and quick. Moreover, the food was excellent! I can’t believe how much food they offer for such a small price. I can’t wait to visit another location in Chicago when I return home and hope the service is just as good!

As a long time customer and resident, new Dennys bites! I used to love coming in here, then they went all «theme style» and eliminated classics. They claim the menu hasn’t changed much, but the portions are puny and the taste and quality of ingredients sucks. Since the prices have gone up, the quality has actually gotten worse. They use majorly processed ingredients and still aren’t cheap. They do offer some cheap options, but it’s not at all the same. It tastes really bland. I miss the days when you would bite into a turkey sandwich and it had basil, oregano, things like thyme and thick salty gravy. I understand times are changing and you have a new generation to feed, but still offer the classics, the way they used to be. Also, I hate to say it but the new remodel is something I want to run 20 miles away from. It doesn’t meet the restaurants style or what I would expect from Dennys. The colors are dark and depressing and do not make me want to come.

I have been going here since I was super young with my family so the waiters/​waitresses that have worked there for a long time all recognize me. Just about all their staff is friendly and if you like diner food, you will like Denny’s. They recently remodeled and it looks great.

They just reopened from remodeling. Food is the same but nice new upholstery. Naugahyde. No more dirty carpet. All hardwood type flooring. More space and seating at the entrance for waiting.
I had senior spaghetti and meatballs. Maybe the fourth time I’ve had it. Great sauce and meat. Loaded baked potato soup was good too.
We were at Perkins recently and I wanted to compare apple pie. Denny’s was the better pie, though disappointed that it didn’t have the caramel drizzle as advertised.
We used to look forward for a grand slam breakfast for doing a survey. Then it went to some pancake balls now a «chance» to win $ 1,000. Phooey on that! Waste of time given the many other choices available to eat at.

Came out Christmas eve and was seated promptly as there were several open tables. No waitress for 30 min before we got our drinks. The food was a 23 minute wait which would have been fine if it were true. We didnt stick around to find out after waiting an hour all together. Not good!

Food is great! Service is very spotty at best.
Food was hot and tasty. Drinks were mostly empty. Seems our waitress was friends with some customers and tool really good care of them. I will friend the waitress on face book next time.

Love Denny’s. It’s my kids (4&6) favorite breakfast restaurant. Always a consistent experience, decent food, and good prices. Truly a great diner!
