Machine Shed is a family favorite. We recently had a family dinner for 22 on a Saturday @ 5:30 and we still had good service. They squeezed us in when we said two separate tables was ok. I ordered a tortilla crusted tilapia special — it had a very good topping with salsa too. But everyone likes the fixings they serve family style — bread and butter, coleslaw, cooked apples and little squares of a spice bread/cake. Food is good, although nothing special, with a good variety and decent prices. Can’t go wrong — I’m sure we’ll be back!

Pretty solid old fashioned comfort food menu. Their fried chicken is right up there with some of the heavy hitters(takes 20 minutes to prepare), and their Sunday brunch has an old time country feel like a Paul Bunyan’s. Nothing on the menu could really be considered«heart smart» but we all know that’s why it’s delicious. Excellent food, excellent bakery, and very reasonably priced.

We live in a world nowadays where even reviews written about a business regardless of how despicable that business is have to be politically correct. Now please keep in mind that the indulgence of political correctness is not given to you the customer when you are the victim of horrific service, only when you get ready to tell the world about it. I have been on Unilocal for almost 10 years. I have been to excellent places, horrible ones and every thing in between.(The majority of my reviews are 5 stars!!). AS A PAYINGCUSTOMERITISINMYBESTINTERESTFOREVERYSINGLEEXPERIENCETOBEROSES! BUTWHENTHEYARENOT I WILLCALLYOUOUTONTHEM. If I have to write a bad review it means that I wasted my time and my money, you are out of your mind if you think anyone enjoys that. I would suggest that instead of a company trolling the reviews and then lying to Unilocal saying«it wasn’t my business» to instead grow up and use such resources to getting their act together. I am very well aware of which business I was at and if I were even remotely in doubt I wouldn’t write the review. I want credit to go where it is due, good or bad. That being said I experienced an extremely rude and over the top hostess at this establishment. With behavior that was uncalled for. Not only did I witness this but so did the 3 guests who accompanied me and other patrons in the restaurant. This was embarrassing, unsettling, unprofessional and disgusting. When I arrived my party was already there waiting for a table. When I walked in I was not greeted but instead stared down and given dirty looks. The next thing I know the hostess starts yelling«you got a problem, you got a problem, you looking at me». Now this was very disturbing since myself and my party were having a conversation and my back was turned towards her. We dine out the majority of the time and have done so all over the world. I have never witnessed this kind of behavior. Now If my word is not good enough, I am more than willing to contact all of the witnesses and have them write reviews too. Another employee even approached me and said«I’m sorry, you just have to ignore her, this isn’t the first time». Really not the first time, hmmm well I tell you what that is a shame if someone is allowed to continue to work there who has already had multiple run ins with customers. Good establishments just don’t happen by accident and neither do bad ones. They go from the top down. When you enter a place that has a culture of rudeness to customers and then is attempted to be covered up by management that says volumes. We were here for brunch. The food was horrible and the service was bad. The food was substandard. A buffet full of quantity but no quality. Garbage and slop! In good conscience, I could never ever recommend this place to anyone unless I hated them. It is bottom of the barrel and there are better places to go. Now I don’t know how to write smiles and giggles about such an abysmal experience but it is what it is. If Machine Shed doesn’t like bad reviews then clean up your act but don’t play a cowards game and run to Unilocal with the«it wasn’t us» card cause trust me it was you and if you don’t trust me I have others just waiting to verify and testify to these events. Machine Shed in one word: disgusting!

Visiting Waukesha from Chicago and came across this little gem. It was amazing!!! The cheesy potatoes are to die for Also, our waitress was so upbeat and pleasant this morning. She was very helpful. The food was just out of this world and super reasonable. I can’t wait to come back for breakfast! Thank you Machine Shed!(Very similar to Cracker Barrel with higher quality). Get the Hired Mans Breakfast!

One of my favorite brunch places. I had the best Egg’s Benedict there! Great service. We didn’t have to wait long. The store that is attached to the restaurant has an arrangement of gift ideas. I’m basing my review off one visit. I would be interested to go back the next time I am in Waukesha.

This is the second visit to the Machine Shed for breakfast. I brought my two relatives because of my praise of the food Quality and amount food served. We purchased Cinnamon rolls the best I have ever eaten. So my son has just bought a condo 4 miles from this restaurant. I will come often as this is my go to for breakfast.

The potato soup was very good, as was the chicken pot pie although, if you get the pot pie, which comes with a veggie medley coleslaw home made apple sauce(extremely good, more like apple pie filling than sauce) skip the bowl of soup, extremely filling meal. my dad got the chili said it was good, meatier than even he makes it at home and enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich which was moist and sweet. most of the chef salad my uncle ordered came home with him. the crust for the pot pie was tasty, flaky and moist(and for anyone who has ever tried making a crust from scratch can tell you that’s a very difficult combination to achieve) actual chunks of chicken and vegetables in the pot pie and not tiny cubes. service was good, nice atmosphere especially if you get in before the larger luck rush, loved looking at all the old farm gear on the walls.

Conveniently placed next to the hotel I stay at when I am here on business, this is a nice easy and safe option for food. The food is good, they have healthy options(which is important to me), the staff are VERY nice, and the prices are to be expected. The atmosphere is not quite my cup of tea, as it seems like just a bunch of farm stuff all over the place surrounding some pretty uncomfortable tables. But none the less, I like coming here or calling in an order. Definitely recommend going here if you are staying in the area and do not feel like going too far to get a good bite to eat at a reasonable price.

Writing this for my parents… What a pretentious place! Rude, rude, rude. Clearly had a problem with our infant daughter crying because she needed to be fed. They didn’t accommodate with a place to put her car seat when my parents asked and couldn’t wait to get them out the door. They will never return and I will certainly never go there. The food was apparently good but overpriced and certainly not worth putting up with a waitress who was unhappy they brought a baby. Hey, this isn’t The French Laundry, you are a mediocre restaurant in Pewaukee Wisconsin. Get over yourselves.

Amazing !! First time visit to the Machine Shed and definitely will be back! Everything was great from the food to the wait staff to the manager who knew exactly what my son should stay away from since he has a dairy allergy. Cracker Barrel does not even compare to Machine Shed !

This was a great place that gave me comfort. The service was friendly and the food had fresh ingredients and good cuts of meat. I was glad I happened upon this place. And I bought a harmonica and jam from the store.

Love love love this place! I’ll be honest I was very skeptical because I am not into«country» food. I was almost concerned it would be like Cracker Barrel which I’m not a fan of. But I was very very pleasantly surprised. They lack on their food presentation, and I eat with my eyes… but OMG take a bite into whatever they put in front of you and it is mmmm mmmm good! I also wasn’t a fan of the name because who wants to eat in a shed, but I’m glad we did the drive out to Pewaukee and gave it a try. I had the Cattlemen’s Choice sirloin and that stuffing is freaking awesome you can literally put it on anything! We also got a chocolate cream pie to go… Holy cow that thing is good! I was concerned that it would just be chocolate pudding in a pie but it is so light and creamy and the Oreo crust — delicious! Must give this place a try!

Easy and convenient place off of 94. There food is heavy much like true home cooking. The potato soup is very tasty and goes well with a half sandwich. They also have a cute shop that you can purchase county décor.

Great waitress. Food was just so-so. Rueben, turkey with bacon sandwich… just ok… hoped for it to be better. Soup was really good. Fries were mushy and not hot. Coffee not good, like old fashioned café coffee. Order the tea.

Worst. Meal. Ever. My son and I stopped here based on the rating and reviews. He ordered«Burnt Ends» and I ordered the Fried Cod. The burnt ends were just cubed meat in BBQ sauce — not smoked, not charred and not Burnt Ends. I could see the disappointment in his face. My fish tasted like it came right out of a freezer from a Walmart. The breading was so thick that I had to cut it with a knife and when I did, lo and behold — there was some fish in there. My dinner came with a side of mashed potatoes that were covered in some dark brown, thick, incredibly salty jarred gravy. After a brief discussion with my son, I called the server over. I told her that this food was the absolute worst I had ever been served. She asked me if I wanted to order something else from the menu and I looked right at her and said that if this is the kind of food they serve, than no. We said that it was inedible and walked out. I’ve never had to do that before.

Stopped in for a hearty breakfast with my boys. We need time to get together and have man to man talk. For a chain rest. Machine shed offers a number of great breakfast options for an event like this. We chose menu options with eggs, bacon, pancakes and their cheese casserole(it’s potatoes, cheese, onion). We washed it down with apple juice and waters. Our server was Dianne, she did a nice job checking back with us making sure we were doing ok after the food arrived. Note: read the menu where it says, if you want more eggs say the magic words«I love eggs» and they add 1 egg at no cost”. Our food was delicious with healthy portions on each plate. My only challenge is the cost, we dropped $ 40 on 3 meals, seems pricy. We only do this event once maybe twice a year. I would go back and I will recommend to friends.

My wife and I stopped by for brunch today and had a decent experience, but the prices were a little high. Their brunch buffet consists of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, eggs, Denver eggs, cheesy hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, pork loin, French toast, salad bar and carving station. The food was good, however their sausage links had been deep fried and the bacon was more on the limp side than the crisp side. The Denver eggs had about an inch of cheese on top which actually made them a little unappetizing. Other than above, everything else was good. Service was good, no issues at all. The only other thing was the price of the buffet, $ 14.95 per person.

The service was fantastic. We had a huge group(20?) and one server. He was really on the ball. The place was cute, styled after Cracker Barrel but not as crowded. We were there for the sunday brunch which was god-awful. The scrambled eggs were sweet, the biscuits hard, the bacon dry and overcooked, the roast beef flavorless, the sausage links filled with water. Overall, not a good dining experience. Will not return.(Also experienced a bout of bad diarrhea.)

Went once only, became ill some hours after eating some ham and cherry nastiness. Was stricken with a bout of extreme vomiting and cramping. The ham dish I ordered tasted strange right off the bat. The only remaining food I was able to choke down was a bite of a cornbread muffin, which btw was saturated with grease. Barf! My family also disliked the entire spectacle and food. Thanks a lot!
