This was my first time visiting on Mother’s Day and it was quite an experience I would say that I was pleased with the service and very impressed with the diversity of foods that there was to eat. I’ve been dying to go back just so that I can see if they are consistent with the service and food that is served. The only thing that I did have a problem with is that I normally order water however our waitress failed to tell us that drinks was included with the Mother’s Day brunch had I known that I would’ve ordered something else. I love fish fries, especially the all you can eat one I would like to try them on a Friday just to see how they are. And by the way I did look them up online and seeing that reservations was required however that wasn’t a problem because as we were driving in that direction I was easily able to make reservations online in the car and they did except the reservations.

After seeing the comment to my first review that they are trying to improve, I figured I would follow up because it is only fair to do so if possible. I had a supplier review a week or so ago and swung in for dinner to see if anything had gotten better. I am happy to say it was a pleasant surprise that things had appeared to be improved. The wait staff was much more attentive and timely, and the menu had appeared to have been changed for the better. Although this is a small sample size(only went back once, by comparison to the multiple times I had been their prior), I definitely want to increase my rating to 4 stars based on this last experience. Nice improvement, and I hope the next time I swing in they have maintained the higher level of food and service!

Very good food, nice atmosphere. Service can be hit or miss. If you are looking for good wine tips, ask for Jim. He’s VERY knowledgeable about wines. The fish dishes are are good for midwestern seafood.

As a hotel restaurant, Thunder Bay makes a pretty darn a-ok lunch. They have a wide array of options on their menu from soup, sandwiches, salads, shared plates and a large salad buffet if you’re into that. The décor is rustic/cabin-y which was done well. However, I was kind of disappointed in my meal that I had for lunch today, I ordered the southwest salad, but the lettuce was nothing more than overly shredded ice burg lettuce with some black beans, corn and salsa. Kind of a bummer, but the service was great. I’d return in the future, but would maybe would try dinner.

Awesome service from Anthony today for lunch as well as the food offered. My only objection was it was rather expensive for the lunch combo with tip and drink. I’d definitely be back but only on occasion.

Ok so I got the BBQ Red Snapper. Here’s what went down. I had excellent service at the bar but the fish was way over cooked. I did voice this to the bartender. The veggies were half cooked and half raw. I like them raw if possible but most people do not. I was disappointed about the $ 18 red snapper. There was a discount of 50% added to the check because Anna fought for it. I did finish the meal so I was not asking for a free dinner. I will still return because I am staying in the hotel next door and I don’t have transportation elsewhere.

If you have a gluten sensitivity, they have a GF menu, however I just got really sick. One of their steaks on the GF menu is marinated in beer. Um. Ok. I ordered the scallops and one side was really blackened — the only way to blacken that much is to use flour. I was a fool and ate it anyway. Paid the price. I’m not sure they have a clue.

Dinner tonight was good. This is what it is. And what it is, is a good restaurant for the family. We’ve been coming for years. The menu seems to change constantly and is perhaps the reason for their cyclical performance. They struggled a bit tonight. It is a place for good basic food with an aspiration to be more. The tapas menu we enjoyed so much a while back now has only a few items left. The cheese filled mushroom caps were not quite hot enough tonight and were likely rushed from the kitchen, though it was still slow. The seafood jambalaya was good, with typical mainstream flavoring, had obvious signs of sitting too long under a heat lamp. Once I stirred it, the appearance and visual presentation was better. The wood planked salmon was good. They struggled with Gluten Free options tonight. The bun free burger was marginal and perhaps the cause of some issues(cross contamination??? Don’t know). The crab/avocado stack was served with four deep fried wontons, and the jambalaya was served with a muffin atop the serving. This was despite being ordered off the Gluten Free menu. As I said, it is a good family restaurant, not Gordon Ramsay’s Claridge’s. Expect good, decent food, not culinary uniqueness.

More like a 2.5, mainly for location and space. The location is convenient, the dining room is large(as is the bar), and they have some private rooms — thus, this is a great place for a meeting or a business chat. It’s always packed with suits over the lunch hour! However, I’ve never left here feeling like the food was something I wanted to come back for. It’s not horrible, just… Okay…not memorable. I’ve tried a variety of apps, sandwiches, and entrees here. These days, I stick to the salad bar whenever I visit, even though the $ 10 price tag for salad and a small cup of soup seems high. Better food to be had nearby, but if you’re on business at the hotel and in the area this is a decent choice for the immediate location.

Delicious food, great service! However, the price is a bit more than I care to spend on a regular day.

This is a great place to treat yourself to a really nice, yet affordable, meal. We went here a year ago as our brunch after my wedding, and the brunch was very decadent and fulfilling with everything you would want at a buffet brunch. Recently, we came for a birthday celebration, and I tried their Bouillabaisse, and the flavors were rich and delightful. The seafood was abundant, too, which made the price very reasonable compared to other places and this dish. My niece had the chicken alfredo, and she loved it(13 year old). Also, I’m a sucker for a great salad bar, and theirs, which included soup, was everything I would have wanted(including a delicious homemade dressing). I come back here as much as I can when I’m in the area.

This restaurant is based more so off of my experience renting out a room for a bridal party . The food itself I would give three ½ stars. The potato soup I would give five stars. The staff I would give one star.(Some are really nice, some weren’t so friendly but mainly because of the disorganization). We had meet with the party planner a month before the event. She was told we were interested in throwing a baby shower, so we had told her it was actually for a bridal shower. We were given a room that is connected directly off of the bar. She said we could rent black or white table clothes. We had said we would like to reserve 8 white ones to cover all the tables. She said a buffet line would be set up between the bar area and the room to kinda separate it. There was a table with a TV above it that we could use to set up decorations. She said since our group was going to be 30 or more she would hire extra staff for the event and to help set up . Day of: There is ONE staff member to help set up and also be the only waitress for the entire duration of the bridal shower. There was no wheeled in buffet line, instead where the table for my decorations/gifts were suppose to go was now where the buffet was set up. She did however find a folding table to help place my decorations and helped as a area for the gifts . No white table clothes were reserved for us and she said there weren’t any left available for us to use. We had to use black ones(if she still had some) which was not matching the theme of a bridal shower, hence why we originally reserved white ones. We were told we would have the room all night and at around 7:30 we were told we had to hurry up and leave because they wanted to use the room to seat customers(this was said in a more polite manner, but the point was heard loud and clear). The manager on at the time started tearing down our decorations and adjusting the room back before we had even started to settle for the party . In the end, the room was just not ideal for a big party. I would say if we had half the amount(about 15 people) it would have been way more comfortable. The only way the chairs fit for everyone was placing them all directly next to each other. The chairs themselves were comfortable though ! I didn’t really like how the room was open rite off the bar, but luckily it wasn’t to busy that night. I did like the fact they let you bring in your own decorations to help make the place feel personal . It was never specified to people the only beverages covered were soda, tea, wine and mimosa so people ordered all different drinks we ended up paying for, which at the end of the day isn’t the biggest deal. You don’t throw a bridal shower expecting it to be cheap . I would not recommend this place for a party or shower unless you are having a SMALL group, or are guaranteed a large private room. Everything felt very disorganized and clearly there is communication issues between the the staff . The food however is good and high quality. I WOULD recommend this place for dinner or lunch ! They have a great salad bar with lots of options and kept at the rite temperature.

Got take out — a burger and an Ahi Tuna salad — and found it was surprising better than I’d anticipated. The burger was the correct temp(even after being boxed), and my lover, who ate the salad, said she would have it again, and thought it was very tasty. She said the salad was worthy of four stars, but I just couldn’t bring myself to giving the overall experience all four. I’d say a solid three and a half stars is appropriate.

My experience was very good. We came in just before closing and the employees were very nice and did not resent our late arrival. There were a few other customers and they were already eating. I ordered the Fresh Cedar Planked Salmon. It was so good and I walked out feeling stuffed. My wife had the Shrimp Alfredo and she was very pleased with it. If I live in Wisconsin, I would return to that restaurant on a regular basis.

Met a friend here for brunch over the weekend and was less than impressed. Our server wasn’t very attentive and my coffee got cold /empty more than once. Also, none of the food on the brunch buffet was very hot, or even mildly warm in some cases. For the price, I’ve definitely experienced WAY better — not sure I’d go back.

A fun place to hang and watch a game while getting some good craft beer and snacks. Attached by a walkway to the Holiday Inn of Pewaukee. Their beer selection was pretty good and not too expensive. Their snack menu was also good. I had the buffalo wings as well as the spicy tuna nachos. They were both really good. Sat at the bar and watch the world series game 6.

Stopped in for a late lunch /early dinner on Sunday. Had a nice round table for 6 of us. I wasnt too hungry so I ordered the Flatbread Pizza — very plain and boring. Also had a side of gourmet mac n cheese — very good. Others in the table had Ribs and Pork Chop, Salad, and Seafood Dish. Everyone else seemed to like their food. Kids enjoyed thier kids menu selection as well as a free«ticket» to get something out of a treasure box for kids — Nice touch for families. The restaurant is beautiful with a very nice and very big area! Def a nice place to get a cocktail or have dinner in the bar room.
