For a buffet this is a pretty good place. My family and I have been there many times and the food is always good. I can say if you go between lunch and dinner it’s not as good or fresh. But overall the best that we have found. The place is a little drab but the service is good.

We debated between 2 and 3 Some of the food was cold(The vegetable lo mein, chicken and broccoli, and honey chicken) Semi bad service Nice lady but slow, seemed to be pushing us to leave after the first plate Not bad pricing, about $ 10 per person with a drink. My brother enjoyed being able to eat lots of meat We tried the frog legs in the spirit of adventure, for those curious– it tasted a lot like tilapia/fish stick fish The dessert was small and very basic. Small dry cake squares that seem to be at every buffet. The was watermelon that was very fresh. There’s just tubs of scoop your own ice cream which didn’t seem very sanitary. My brother couldn’t find a clean sauce cup until the seventh one(which is especially odd for something that’s supposed to be disposable) It wasn’t bad, but it’s the bottom level of good. It’s got some good basics, wouldn’t be a bad place for teenagers.

I’m a fan of Kung Fu! Their best dishes are honey chicken, chicken on a stick, and the lo mein. Their sushi is pretty bad, It’s dry and flavorless. The ice cream is self serve and really good. The fried rice is greasy most of the times. They’ve got a variety of dishes to choose from. When it comes to Chinese food I’m picky so I haven’t tried them all.

No. I love Chinese buffets and this one is just sad. The selection is very small and due to this, a lot of the food had run out, meaning you had to wait more time to get it replenished. I wouldn’t mind the small selection if what they had was good, but it wasn’t. Also, the sushi selection was just depressing. They literally just had a California roll displayed in 5 different ways. I don’t care if you put crab on the top and the avocado and cucumber in the middle, it’s still a California roll. My advice? Spend an extra $ 2 per person to go to a Chinese buffet that has double the selection and a better quality of food.

Only been here weekends but I think it’s cheaper during the weekdays. Not worth it at the weekend price that’s for sure. No one is friendly; the counter guy can’t be bothered to say hello or anything. The food is usual buffet items; standard soups(hot & sour, miso, egg drop), bunch of chicken dishes(kung Pao, sweet & sour, general tso, hibachi and black pepper). Black Pepper chicken is actually pretty decent. Fried rice and lo-mein etc ec. Dessert is uninspiring. Last time I was here, it was rush rush rush… not even finished with our second helpings, the lady couldn’t wait for us to pay and leave. By third plate, received check and a stare that would make you shit your pants. Which may be likely after consuming this greasy mess of rubbery substance they call ‘chicken’. Sorry for giving you business creepy lady, we’ll be sure not to come back to your empty mediocre restaurant again. Bye.

I was told about this place by a friend. I went there expecting a typical Chinese restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The food, atmosphere, and price was outstanding! I will be back on a regular basis. You need to try it, you will be back too.

This place is nice and calm. Nice variety of food. The only thing I have to say was the egg drop soup tasted watered down which was a bummer for my andy husband. That’s our favorite thing to eat. But its nothing to make us not come back. :)

We went there for dinner on sunday, 2 adults 3 kids The worst Chinese food we have ever had. Every one of were sick before we made it home to cedar park. Diarra for 2 days for the family is not fun.

Came in here today to grab something to eat before I head into work. Again, there were the same food choices like always. There is never a new item added to the choices. Never. Everything seemed over cooked… rice, Egg rolls, honey chicken, General Tso’s chicken, almost everything. I go to the restroom and see these huge cockroaches. Some might say it’s only in the restroom, sure, but what keeps them from infesting the kitchen? The kitchen that is totally concealed from our view. Yeah. I’m done with place.

It’s OK, but not spectacular. OK if you want Chinese and are just famished. Nothing particularly bad nor especially good. Atmosphere is OK, too.

Raised their price but not the quality. How is the food at a buffet cold or lukewarm when you just open if your not reheating leftovers? They really need to look at the quality of the food.

Horrible horrible horrible. Hair in food. When brought up to server, she took plate away n showed other workers and left the remaining food sitting on the buffet line. DISGUSTING!

We absolutely loved this place. We actually ate here two days in a row. The first night we went the food was great but there was not much of it. Guess it was close to closing. The next day we went during lunch and the food was even better. It was hot and they had a great selection. The price totally sold me! For two adults and a child we only paid 22 for dinner and 17 for lunch. I will be returning

Not a fan. I wanted to love it. Helloooo two of my favorite words Chinese… and… Buffet. This is really a 1.5 rating… Well if they allowed halves. I gave them a 2 just because I felt generous today. But a lot of the food tasted so old. The ribs had a weird taste and the fried chicken… Lol. No words can describe the trauma of that first bite. The sushi reminded me of old grocery store sushi. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Needless to say, we may or may not go back depending on my hubster who could eat shoe leather if you add a dipping sauce. He said it was ok. Me… Not so much

It’s a buffet! My table was clean, and the lady kept my tea full. The food seemed to be fresh, and the dishes I had were pretty tasty. I do believe the onions in the fried rice were a little on the heavy side but that’s just an opinion.

Gasp! I could have sworn a good 4 – 5 months ago I updated this??? Thanks Ann S for the poke. Between our first visit and my original review, and whatever magically happened over time, this place is actually my go to for buffet! I actually recommend them now! They have a LOT of chicken dishes, which we like. A few beef options, quite a few veggie options, and the seafood options are pretty decent too. Weekend buffet has a few things that weeknight doesn’t, so try both. No real sushi«bar», but offers the«normal» rolls. Big, clean, lots of fresh hot food. Very well priced for a buffet. I wish they had some tastier desserts, but maybe its better they don’t…

The only person who will devour a Chinese buffet with me is my mom and she doesn’t live in Austin. So every time she comes to Austin, I have to scramble to find a place to eat. Fortunately Kung Fu Buffet came up in the Unilocal search this week and we stopped in. Four stars because there are so many food options to choose from whether you want your staples of fried rice and sesame chicken or you want to go fancy with some fried lobster roll. They also have a variety of sushi and the hot and sour soup was pretty tasty. Service was prompt and I never ate something and said«ehh.wtf was that?» as I have at other Chinese buffets. As others have mentioned, the prices are very reasonable: I think it was $ 6.95 for lunch and $ 8.95 for dinner and weekends. They were open on Christmas so I may take that into consideration as a holiday meal option in the future. I’m sure we’ll be back whenever it is my mom returns to Austin.
