I love the people that work and also come to the community center. They are friendly and make you feel welcome. The center is not hugh but as a Senior it works for me. I also take a Zumba class on Wednesday and the instructor is the best. She is fun and energetic and the class feels like a group of old friends. Wish they had some more interactive exercise classes but overall the center works for me.

I am definitely a fan! I think this is one of those places that helps define a community. You walk into the Rec Center at any given time and and you’ll see retirees mingling, moms walking the track with their babies, young people playing basketball … It’s definitely an aging facility that doesn’t boast the latest in exercise equipment, but we have those places around. Here’s what I love: $ 2/hour child care, and it’s GOOD — people who seem to love kids are taking care of them. $ 1 walking track — you can’t beat that for a walking alternative when it’s too hot, cold or rainy. Finally, great programming — the swim lessons at Gilleland Creek, gymnastics for kids — again, taught by kind, loving and knowledgable instructors. I really feel like this is a special gem that gives me the warm«pfuzzies» about Pflugerville! :)

In my opinion, this establishment is run very poorly. I enjoy shooting some basketball every once in awhile so I decided to try out at 3 month membership. I randomly go at different times throughout the day and often times the gym is reserved for some kind of activity. Basketball, volleyball, two-step lessons etc. I expressed my frustration and was told that I can look on their website to see the availability of the gym. I have since checked the site before I drive up there and it doesn’t state that anything is going on and when I get there the doors are shut with a sign on the door saying reserved. So obviously they are not updating the site as I was told. Also, out of the 6 basketball goals that are there to shoot on, 5 of them have bent rims which is kind of funny considering you are not aloud to hang on the rim. There needs to be adults running the place to enforce the rules, not a bunch of high school kids. I will not be renewing my membership

People at the front desk are super friendly and super helpful! The aquatics coordinator gets back to you really quick via phone and email when you have a question! The swimming lessons there at the gillieland pool are top notch! And they are cheap $ 35 per session. i totally recommend them. My 4 year old was holding his breath and swimming under water after 1 session. The instructors are super sweet, patient, and they make the whole class fun and educational for the kids. Instructor Charlie in the preschool 1 class is an amazing teacher. Two thumbs up! I can’t say enough great things about it! Totally recommend it !
