Neat place especially during spring and summer with all the fun outdoor activities. Not much of a selection of beers but affordable drinks still nice hangout place.

Really fun place to hangout with cheap drinks. Always a great place to stop by after a round of golf with the buds.

Cool hidden spot north of Austin. If you are looking for a typical bar with craft beers and a cocktail list, great bar food and such, this is not your place. But if you are looking for what feels like a public house party, this is the perfect place!!! Huge back area with volleyball, picnic tables and a patio. Sometimes they have live music as well. The inside isn’t very big, so it’s best to visit during good weather. Oh and it’s dog friendly too!

This place is awesome. It reminds me of home. Small bar with live music. The people were so nice and enjoyed singing with the band. They played a lot of 80’s music which I love. Overall a good spot to hang with friends and family. Definitely will be going back

This is the worst place to grab a drink ever! The bartenders can’t even make drink and the parking is horrible! This is not a fun place at all! Uncle Gary’s may be a little better if they had appetizers or some kind of food to go along with your crappy drink.

went there because a friend told me to check it out, it was just ok, not busy at all. then this little man came up to us and was really rude, found out he was the owner, if i was as little as he is, i would hide behind the bar. my friend wanted to step on him but i wouldn’t let him, because we are not from here and i didn’t want any trouble. we were going to talk to him about having our rally there but i don’t think so. now i know why it wasn’t busy. i just want to tell everyone that the owner is a ass and a egotistical s o b. i will be sure to tell everybody. way to many cool places in the Austin area, maybe it was that time of the month for him. but they do sell feminine protection at wall greens or cvs. have a good day !!! road dog Sgt arms bandits m.c.

Love this place! My son and I joined friends and family here, after having a sub-par experience at Wagner’s Backyard. When we arrived, we were greeted by Elvis’ wagging tail(the resident English Mastiff), as he lay outstretched on the cool floor. A friendly female bartender(don’t remember her name) greeted us, and was able to quickly open tabs for our party. I grabbed a Dos XX for myself and a fountain drink for my son. We all went outside, and stayed for a couple of hours; some of us conversing in the shade, others playing volleyball. Everyone had a great time, and we will certainly be back soon!

Coming from a very small town, I was looking for that«where everybody knows your name» kind of place. Add in a really welcoming atmosphere and service that did not disappoint, and you have Uncle Gary’s! Loved it! Looking forward to frequenting this place!

1 million stars. ******************************************************************************************** Uncle Gary met me and my friends, shook our hands, very nice guy! He is not a butt! Shots and mixed drinks were GENEROUS and if you have a problem with that, get your watered down drinks at Chili’s, then grab a PANCAKE at the nearby IHOP and if you’re still up for more of that, there is a CHIKFIL A and a PANDAEXPRESS nearby. THEYBOTHWATERDOWNTHEIRCHICKENANDRICESOYOUWILLLIKEIT, BUTTS. If you’re looking for craft beers I mean, the Walgreens and CVS nearby have a regular rotation of craft beers. I love craft beers, but don’t go to a little locally owned bar and complain about not having craft beers, butts. ALSO staff was very responsible about patrons who had too much to drink. They care! They are not butts, like the people who don’t like this bar, who are butts. To people who don’t like this place… GOOD. STAYAWAY, ANDKEEPYOURFRIENDSAWAY. Meanwhile I’ll tell my pals who are not butts about the great bar that’s on the same asphalt as a used car lot.

Five stars. We were warmly greeted by regulars and UNCLEGARYHIMSELF. Amazing. The bartender was a sweetheart. She immediately picked up on our group’s inability to communicate without sarcasm and proceeded to speak our language. As with any establishment, not everyone will like this place — so here’s some insight that may solidify your decision to go or not go to Uncle Gary’s. If you are a snob(beer or otherwise) this is not the place for you. Want a craft beer? That’s not their thing. Do you like your drinks weak? Go to Chili’s. It’s down the street and you can down two drinks and feel as sober as a judge. The peeps at UG’s give bang for your buck and serve it up without pretension… if that’s what you like in your neighborhood watering hole GOOOOO. If not, run for your life.

Very unique and fun place. Feels like family. We actually met Uncle Gary and all staff was super nice. Very spacious place with a space for live music both inside and out. This review isn’t really giving this place justice… just check it out yourself! ;)

I’m giving this place five stars due to the awesome service from ALL of the waitstaff ! I met a friend of mine here who happens to be super cool, and she recommended the place. I arrived like 20 minutes early and was immediately greeted by warm friendly faces. The outdoor seating and grounds were a little confusing due to the rain and heavy fog, but I could definitely see how this could be a perfect setting for friends and family to listen to live music, bean bag toss, or playing some awesome sand volley ball! On another note I actually found«Gary“the owner who was the epitome of sincerity and am overwhelming sense of customer service. Check it out… you may be as surprised as I was! I can actually understand the meaning of what he’s going for now. …a true«neighborhood“bar. …thanks Gary!

Still coming back due to its close proximity to my house. Kinda wish they would get draft beer and I will visit more. $ 3.75 for a 12 oz Lone Star is a bit outrageous. but hey its a bar after all. The Bartenders are super awesome and they have a full bar. The owner Gary is obviously putting money back into the business as they are building something new in the back yard every time I go. I do applaud them for having the World Cup soccer games on multiple TVs. Will definitely check them out for football season as I don’t have cable.

Not dog friendly, which is a shame considering there is an enormous amount of space outside and a little hypocritical since the owner has his dog walking around the lot. That’s like having a sign that says, «no shirt, no shoes, no service» and witnessing the owner drinking at his bar with only speedo’s on. First place I’ve ever been told in Central Texas that I had to leave because of my dog… AND my dog is a little 9 week old Charcoal Lab that I was holding, not a big viscous animal off leash. I’m giving this place three stars only because the little food cart had awesome brisket(which I had earlier before picking up my dog) and the bartender was nice and cute and apologetic about me having to leave. Maybe I should give two stars but I will probably be back due to it’s proximity to my house. Convenience is nice and I guess I can leave my dog at home next time.

Unfortunately, the last three reviews before me are right about the rude behavior from staff. I went there on a Thursday evening and asked for a beer menu. They didn’t have one, so I listened to the long list of choices. I looked at my friend and I could tell she was thinking the same thing… no craft beers. Right off the bat, I could tell the bartender was annoyed by our hesitation. I tell the bartender that I love IPAs so he brings back an Omission IPA. I was like, «cool they at least have one IPA here». WRONG! There was only one more left from a sampling order. When I went back to get the last IPA, I ask the same bartender if there’s any chance they may get some craft beers in the near future. In a lecturing manner, he tells me that it’s not that type of bar with some more blah blah blah added to his comment. Now I know I’m a beer snob. And I know the demand for craft beer isn’t as big in Pflugerville as it is in Austin. But I don’t think I need to be lectured if places like Hanover’s and Red Rooster have several craft beers on tap/bottles. I think it was a legit question to ask. I had high hopes for this place. This place reminds me of Weirdo’s. If you were ever at Weirdo’s before they closed, you would know that they brought in crowds from all walks of life. That’s what made it such a rad place. Uncle Gary’s has the same potential. Dear Uncle Gary, I love just about everything about your bar. I would frequent your bar again and drink Dos XX if I had to, but please get rid of the rude staff members. Thanks you.

We visited Uncle Gary’s last weekend, and though I think the place itself could be really cool, the service was not. I had two margaritas only, and they were SOOOO over poured that I was sick by the time I got home. I managed to lose my wallet there. I tried to call about it first thing Monday and the owner was rude and obviously did not care. He told me not to call him on his personal cell. I get it, but if you don’t want people calling you, don’t put your number on the website. To me, it was an emergency. I called back at 1:00, 3:00, and 4:00. Although the girl who answered the phone at the bar was nicer, I wasn’t convinced she was actually looking for my wallet, so my boyfriend drove over to the bar to look(I was still at work). No wallet, and no concern. The bartenders over pour at dangerous levels and the staff simply does not care what the consequences are for customers. I won’t be going back…

At first I thought I was being dragged to a white trash hell hole out in bum-fuck –nowhere, but alas I was wrong! This place had cheap drinks, was really clean, had GREAT live music(totally shocked me too), and had great patio/patio furniture/heaters! The crowd is definitely older as in late 40s and up(at least when I was there), but maybe that’s why the place was as nice as it is.. . If you’re stuck in pville, give this place a shot– it definitely surprised me!

SSSSSHHHHH… dont tell a soul about this place. I mean it is easily the funnest bar in Pflugerville. Maybe even central Texas. Tucked away behind Gary’s business hides this absolute gem. Huge lot with sand volleyball, washers and room for lots more in the future. Tons of outdoor seating and afternoon/evening is usually shaded making it a comfy cool way to spend the day. Big beautiful outdoor deck surrounds the place. The inside is adorned with lots of woodwork and interesting visuals. Both human and material. The staff i awesome, cheerful and downright friendly. Gary the owner usually will be hanging out in there as will Elvis the massive Mastif that is sweet as can be. I selfishly hope Gary’s secluded location keeps this place from becoming massively popular. This is a very cool unique place that will only get better with time.
