Service: I do have to say it was a little weird how our server kept calling my mother«mamasita» and my little brother«papasito». Aside from this little issue she was very attentive by constantly checking if we needed anything. I was surprise since they had a full house and still provided much better service than other places. Food: I had the«Huevos divorciados» which were great! It was a lot of food and very tasty. The sauces weren’t to hot but just gave it enough of that spicy taste to make your meal that much better. The only complain I would have is with the beans since they did not have a homemade taste but instead had more of «canned beans» taste. Lastly, the cheesy«migas» were a great complement to the meal. I like to think of this place as our own Mexican«IHOP» and I totally recommend it.

Could easily be a 5 star location for breakfast, but you never know what kind of service you going to get. Sometimes it outstanding and other you couldn’t get water to put out a fire. Food is great, but overly priced. Don’t mind paying for it but need better service for that price.

Extremely disappointed. Came in for breakfast with a cousin and 4 year old son. What i thought would be an awesome start with my favorite meal went down hill fast. I brought in a cup with apple juice for my 4 yo son. I asked the waiter if i could have a Styrofoam cup so I could pour it in there since they DON’T SELLAPPLEJUICE there. I figured no harm. He says no that we cant bring in outside drinks. I ask to speak to the manager, who by now i know its gonna be one of the owners daughters. I asked her too if i could by now was to Buy a Styrofoam cup for the apple juice and straight out she said no, because if the inspector came he would fine them… like the inspector is gonna be inspecting my drinks? So, i am assuming no milk bottles for the younger kids are allowed? No zippy cups either? Kids allergic to their cheap water, cant bring in bottled water? Seriously?! She said, she couldnt be liable for what i was giving my son. Like wth are you serious, it was apple juice. I am disappointed on their costumer service. bas itnis, one can gona whole meal with one drink, amd their staff will walk by you and not ask if you need a fill. My family has been eating there since they first opened. I moved out of state and every time i come to town i made sure i ate there. My husband became a fan because of me. So i guess they dont need my bi weekly 45 dollars. It is okay, in don’t mind taking my business else where. My fam & extended fam as well. All because the the waiter didn’t like me asking for the manager. What a shame on both of them. If they had apple juice as an option, i wouldnt of felt the need to bring my son his own drink.

Awesome place!!! We go there every weekend! Saturday and Sunday! Food is great, service for the most part is outstanding! We already have our favorite waitresses and they already know what we want. My favorites are: lengua ranchera, huevos divorciados and platillo galeana!!!

Food is okay but not for the price… too expensive!!! Plus if you have left overs you have to pay extra for your to go plate, they charge you for everything!!! Then the waitresses there have attitude the only one I saw was up & down with a smile was a gentleman there! I don’t think I would back and in case we do I will definitely ask for him.

Excellent customer service! We were here twice for breakfast. Maybe lunch is better, but my breakfast would have been better served wrapped in foil paper from Stripes. First day: I had migas with chorizo and I added«yellow» cheese. Chorizo was lacking and I couldn’t taste it. Beans were thin but flavored like abuela used to make them(lard?). My hubby had a plate with three eggs, ham, bacon, and sliced potatoes. He loved it. Second day: I had barbacoa with eggs, and beans. Barbacoa was dry overly reheated, further drying parts of it and making it taste like beef jerky($ 9.25 for the plate). I’ve had better from Stripes. Sad face. My hubby had huevos rancheros. Again, he loved it. Pros: coffee was hot and flowing, my hubby’s tea was cold and never empty, but was flavorless and not sweet enough. Tomorrow, we try a different breakfast place.

Fernando’s Restaurant is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the McAllen/Pharr area. The food is excellent and the staff is by far one of the friendliest and best service wise around. You can’t go wrong with Fernando’s. The coffee is nice and strong too.

Very crowded but they have lots of servers. Food within five minutes. It was great. I went for breakfast so I will have to try lunch/dinner. I liked they had flour and corn tortillas. Homemade. I will return. I am glad I tried this place!

We visit Fernando’s almost every Sunday and it is always packed. The breakfast is delicious and extremely affordable but not very quick. We have waited up to an hour to receive our breakfast but of course it is Sunday and this place is right down the street from the Basilica. So a few words to the wise, get there early, order Huevos Divorciados(unless you don’t like spicy, get Special #5 in that case), and stay away from the milk they put on the table for the coffee(it’s been spoiled on more than one occasion).
