My boyfriend and I discovered this place one Saturday morning and we are so glad that we did! We both got turkey bacon with cheese, onions, green peppers, and butter on their home made bread and it was amazing! The bread and the turkey bacon perfectly made. If you are driving up or down lancaster and find this spot, you have to stop in. P. S. From the outside, this diner doesn’t look very fancy in the least. You can tell, though, that the food is great because there are never any parking spots.

A nice place for breakfast any time of day, but their menu choices for lunch or dinner are minimal. A few sandwiches and meatloaf. Even so, it’s never too late in the day for French toast. I ordered the 3 slide with bacon and 1 egg on the side, and it was almost too much, but the French toast is so delicious, I pounded it down. I don’t know what sort of syrup they’re serving, but it’s nice a thick(not runny like some of those breakfast chain joints). The egg was scrambled a bit too runny for my taste, but eggs are often a crap shoot. Beware, cash only, but prices are reasonable. Lunch for 3 came out to $ 26 including drinks and tip.

I was worried that i wouldn’t find a great breakfast place after having moved from NJ. Thankfully this place is near my new home and had a phenomenal breakfast with grits, turkey bacon and sausage, and fried fish!!! GETTHEHOMEMADEBREAD!!! Go here is amazing!!!

Good food, portion amount was good for the prices. Great homemade bread for the French Toast. Small little diner but nice inside. Bring cash though, they don’t accept credit cards

Came here for lunch during work and had the absolute best experience. Friendly waitstaff and a surprisingly short wait for our food. Had the western omelet and French toast and was blown away. The bread is baked fresh in this teeny hole-in-the-wall diner and it is amazing. Fluffy and perfectly cooked with cinnamon sugar on top. Would most definitely recommend to even the pickiest eater!

The homemade bread is wonderful! You can’t really go wrong with a giant bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich for $ 4. This is great local place in West Philly.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside but inside it’s actually very cute and very clean. Staff is friendly. Food is good. Get the homemade white bread. Delicious!

I always get the grits and sausage when I come here. The homemade bread is amazing. It’s a little joint in a not so great neighborhood but don’t judge a book by its cover. The food is yummy. I wish they served fresh OJ. They only serve concentrate can OJ and sodas.

It’s funny that I just managed to get rid of all the traditional(gluten) flour in our house, but this weekend we HAD to try this place with the homemade bread. And you can imagine how fantastic this fresh, fluffy, generously sliced bread went with our favorite breakfast to share: chipped beef with an overeasy egg and some meditation of potatoes. The french toast here is more like cinnamon toast, but on the same homemade bread. The nice lady who served us was TOOADORABLE.

Loves this place, you have to try the french toast on homemade bread! This place has changed hands, but the bread is still the same. THAT is why I come here, their home made bread! It is great as french toast, in an egg sandwhich, or on the side w/a platter. I can’t wait to try the creamed chipped beef… once I have the nerve. LOL This place has been here for years. It closes around like 2 and they basically serve breakfast. They are closed on Sundays!

A O-K! Just like the Rating says. I like Ace’s Diner. It’s local and has good food. I absolutely LOVE the homemade bread… I even ask for the homemade toast with an order of pancakes… It’s no Ihop, but the service is okay, the food is good, and it’s a nice place to catch a quick breakfast early or late but earlier the better. The service on the other hand is not that great, it’s not the worse ever, but it’s surely NOT the greatest. It’s small in Ace Diner, but the booths are average size. The seating is all booths which is good, and you can sit at the counter as well. Sometimes they don’t answer when you call over the phone, and sometimes your food isn’t put on until you get there. They aren’t open on Sundays, but they do have an off-the-street parking lot. So nothing fancy here, just great food, okay service(don’t expect much).

GREAT food. TERRIBLE service. Always packed though since it’s a small spot so beat the crowd if you decide to go. Food is worth putting up with the service.

The Ace Diner is an old, refurbished railroad dining car located on Lancaster av. in West Philly. It was a happening breakfast stop for folks in the 60’s and The 70’s when then owner Harvey, a Native American commanded the grill and whipped up some great breakfast grub featuring his own fresh bread baked there everyday. Now the Ace Diner is owned by Mr. Kim and his family and they remodeled the Diner Now the Ace Diner looks as great as the food tastes. The food is not fancy here, just your basic everyday breakfast fare, but it’s done right! And being served fresh bread with your meal is something you will like getting used to.
