Two of my buddies had a joint birthday party at AURA and I found it to be a decent spot. Not sure of the normal Philly nightlife scene but AURA does a good job of making people want to party. The staff at the door is friendly, the guest list was managed well and access was granted quickly and easily. I wasn’t involved with the party planning so I can’t speak on the table set up but we were provided with a small section to ourselves to lounge. The upstairs dance area isn’t huge but it is made up two rooms to spread out a bit. The bathroom is also tiny and could use some upgrades. Place never really got packed throughout the night so the club even though small in size never was overwhelmed with people. They serve food, wings were decent, a little on the small side but cooked well and seasoned nicely. Drinks were also decent, bartender was decent with her pours, they also have a girl selling jello shots which I am always a sucker for. Music was standard hip hop, DJ wasn’t fantastic but kept the party going throughout the night. All in all a decent night, while the place wasn’t out of this world, it has potential as a place to spend a night out.

I personally love this place. I decided to plan my birthday at this spot and I had so much fun! The staff is friendly. Management was professional in handling all my cares. I don’t regret booking this place for my birthday party. Great music and ambience! I’ll definitely will have my next party there.

The place is small which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you like intimate spaces. The drinks are reasonably priced but made with cheap liquor. Also minimum of $ 25 for a bar tab on a credit/debit card. Otherwis, cash.

Im new to the area and wanted somewhere to watch the world cup. My friends and I walked into aura to see the game playing on all screens and some music playing in the background for those mingling. It was a chill place. They had an eclectic menu and wings special. We ordered shots to start and not knowing what to pick we all chose something different. I tried the seafood mac it was surprisingly different. We had fun, got to eat and watch the game. I wanted to get a little more dressier for the upstairs party they were having. Maybe next time.

I’m here for the Super Bowl party so I’m not gonna rate this establishment based on the nightlife. The TVs are mounted behind you in the upper level. Very annoying watching tv having to turn you neck or stand. The good… D’usse cognac tasting tonight and the barmaids/waitresses are friendly.

Great fun place. We were treated as if we always go there and it was only my second time. I wish I had more time so I could go more often. The music, drinks, staff all make it an amazing experience. I suggest going and trying the VIP. We were offered VIP at a reasonable rate… so worth it. Drinks were flowing nonstop. Just a great vibe all night long! Thank you Aura. See you soon!

Philadelphia is a city of many wonders and attractions, and while history reigns supreme here, nightlife can be an iffy item. Depending on your musical taste, clubs cater to all genres of music and various orientations. On my visit to Club Aura, I was extremely pleased on how a small hip hop club in Center City could provide such an ambiance that is both entertaining and accommodating to all. First of all, those whining about the club in previously posted reviews seem like they were expecting to the club to be operated by Nino Brown, but the fact is, this is Philly, not New Jack City. Overall, while I like Hip Hop to a certain extent, I had an enjoyable time at Club Aura. Security and bar staff treated me like a baller, and the music was great to keep my mind entertained and my eyes on the dance floor. For those who are on the VIP list, I suggest calling 48 hours prior to your visit to assure you’re on the list as this place can get quite busy on the weekends. Bar had every hard liquor brand that I’ve seen in major bars throughout the globe(and I have traveled the world, trust me). Club management keeps this place happening and I was happy that they treated me like I was a 76er. Would I come back? Yes. Would I like to see some changes? Who wouldn’t? I would like the club to offer different types of music and cater to different crowds for specific nights and events(e.g. Black College Week, Philly Pride, etc.) as word of mouth will make this an ideal spot to spend a good time while you’re in town. Props to management for a great job. There is always room for improvement in any place, but I can assure you it’s not the place that brings this place down in reviews. The wrong clientele can bring it down, therefore the whiners in past reviews should take this into consideration before negating this club. Cheers to Club Aura!

The downstairs is no longer open for parties so everyone is forced upstairs to an extremely small dance floor with very rude bounces shoving through the crowd who also serve as VIP host. If your in VIP or not easily annoyed by long waits for drinks and a not so hot dj you’ll love this place. The security are very aggressive and ignorant just brushing past people almost knocking them to the floor like a fight broke out just to deliver a bottle. The old setup was better now your forced to huddle on an extremely small dance floor with people walking back and fourth in every direction. At least my bartender was great.

Went there this past Saturday. Just bad. Didn’t have our names on the vip list even though we had bottle service. When they finally figured it out, they showed us to our section. We placed our order. They wanted the money up front. We have them cash. But then it took them 20 minutes to come back with the bottles. But had no mixers. Asked us what mixers we wanted and then took another 20 minutes to bring that over! That’s what happens when u have a bouncer doing double duty as a vip host smh. Then went over to the bar to get a drink after bottles were done, hoping I’d have a better experience. Nope! Only 1 bar upstairs with 2 bartenders who looked overwhelmed! This place needs to put more attention on the experience of the customer and hire some more people instead of trying to get all the money they can. The music was ok. Played today’s hip hop with no variety. The crowd was mostly mid 20ish. Horrible for bottle service. So-so for a regular night. There are better options…
