We live in the neighborhood and pick up bread and croissants here all the time. We also pick up bread for our neighbors in the Poconos when we go up to our lake house. Seeded dinner rolls are super good. You will not find a better croissant anywhere in the city. We live for their brioche!!!

This place makes me HAPPY. everything from excellent, but plain, ciabatta to more imaginative and hard-to-find flavors like pistachio croissants and porcini and sage rolls. I don’t know how he does it, but I’m glad he does. My boyfriend and I walk over the Manayunk bridge sometimes just to get some treats here, and then stop off at Volo for an espresso. It’s fantastic to see a new, small business on Main Street that’s not a bar or a pizza place.

5 stars to the baker, he was so patient showing us all the baked goods and even gave us a sample of the seeded mini roll! We bought an almond croissant, Mexican bomb and cinnamon roll and boy… I can’t pick which one I liked the most! Everything was sooooo good that by th time I reached home… it was all gone! Loved this place… check it out if you’re in the area

We have been here several times and I give 2 stars because the product is do damn excellent. However, the people that help you are not excellent at all. How about being nice to your customers? I mean just a bit? Am I too old? Do I need to wear a knit hat have some hoppy craft beer in my hand and ride a single speed bike to get a friendly interaction? If you do not want to interact with people… get another job! Me? I can do with out the attitude and will miss your bread.

I feel like I am now part of a secret bakery club — a little hole in the wall that has a unique changing menu. I got the baguette, a pumpkin brioche and a chocolate croissant. Everything was fresh and delicious and J can’t wait to go back.

Good but a little on the pricey side. I would rate their pastries at 5 stars however certain items were not as good as I would have hoped. The croissants in particular were sort of ehh… they were overly large/not flaky like a real croissant should be. Aside from that I was satisfied and will likely return.

Excellent small bakery on Main Street in Manayunk that’s easy to miss, and only open 4 days a week as of this writing. But SO worth making the effort to seek out. Excellent baguettes and sourdough breads, but they do make other styles that I simply haven’t tried yet. I’ve only had one of their breakfast pastries and it was also good. While it’s been nice to be able to pick up fresh Le Bus breads from Winnie’s Le Bus, they aren’t baked right there. This is a local business really worth keeping around.

Cheap Supermarket baguette $ 1 Wegmans baguette $ 2 Breakin bread $ 3 You get what you pay for. If you drink cheap beer, Folgers coffee and store brand cheese this place isn’t for you. If you appreciate the finer things in life and don’t mind spending double, you will be amazed by the quality! Go to wegmans or whole foods and get 2−3oz of bunch of different meats and cheese and pick up loaf of bread for the best meal of your life.

I had the goat cheese and olive bread. Absolutely delicious. I had to stop myself from eating the whole loaf in one night. If you love bread this place is your Graceland.

Just picked up a loaf of multigrain and it was absolutely delicious! Crunchy outside and flavorful insides. Made a grilled cheese and it was amazing! Multigrain usually doesn’t do well getting grilled but it was perfect. Good luck breakin bread!

A little pricey, but well made treats. The brownie has a very dense and rich flavor, almost tasted like coffee(which is not a bad thing in my opinion) the sticky bun was absolutely delicious and I liked the texture of the bread, crisp on the outside, chewy on the in. Bonuses for the friendly counter person and the fact that they take credit cards and there is no minimum.

I have passed this bakery multiple times, but today marked my first visit. As others have mentioned, it’s a door and a window to order. The counter person Greg was incredibly friendly for the early a.m. and had a quirky sense of humor which I greatly appreciated. On to what matters most: I ordered a pain chocolat and peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. The cookie tasted exactly as it should and was substantial in size, but my texture preference leans towards«chewy» and this cookie was definitely«crunchy.» However, I was not deterred and finished aforementioned cookie. Just thought it was worth mentioning. The pain chocolat was the shining star. In the future I will purchase a trove of them as one left me craving more. Perfectly crunchy with buttery, flaky layers and a smooth decadent bittersweet chocolate middle. I briefly contemplated returning for about a dozen, but somehow channeled a higher power to keep my insatiability in check. After reviewing the menu they tucked into my bag, I will be making this bakery part of my monthly indulgences. Friendly service, delicious carb laden goodies, and rather inexpensive prices for Main Street. Add this to your route for a bite of heaven.

Delicious!!! The owner is great and you can tell he really cares about his craft. I used to be a regular at metropolitan bakery when I lived in my airy, and I’m happy there is now a great bakery in manayunk. I’ll definitely be a regular customer!

Finally a bakery on Main Street. You walk in the store and it’s basically a window that you order from. There’s a hand written menu on the wall that you can choose from. If you ask the person at the window will show you the different baked goods. I tried the blueberry jam filled brioche and a cherry scone. Both were good, but i think a bit pricy for what it is. $ 2.50 each. I plan to go back and try some of their loaf breads.

Initial review, because I’ve only tried one item. Breakin bread is literally a door, an ordering window and all bakery. Their pastries all looked extremely tasty. I had the cinnamon bun and my coworkers had sticky buns. The cinnamon bun was really good and let’s the baking speak for itself since it’s not drenched in sugary melted frosting. They offer various breads, pastries and desserts and offer additional herb and flavored breads on the weekends. The store is currently only the owner and one baker. They have only had a soft opening so far, but I’m looking forward to having this place around.
