The Philly Phanatic has been transformed! Located inside Citizen’s Bank Park, the Phillies home stadium, is a Build-A-Bear Workshop, where you can also make your own Phanatic. The Phanatic is the mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies and has this big nose that you just want to squeeze. He’s a feathery, green creature from the Galapagos Islands or so they say. My granddaughter has carried around stuffed animals since she was old enough to grasp and cuddle them. Seeing this shop, while I was definitely looking for something else, she squealed and wanted to make her own Teddy Bear. How precious is that, I ask you? Almost game time darling, pick a bear and we’ll dress it right up for you, to go! No such luck, so I turned her over to the sales lady and then I spot these Phanatics and I chuckle. Hey, the Phillies are okay and I do follow them, but my all time true love are the Atlanta Braves and it’s time to stuff a Phanatic! As my granddaughter sat and cuddled her one of a kind teddy bear, I waved my Phanatic high in the air, proudly wearing a designer Atlanta Braves T-Shirt and cap! It now sits on the rocking horse, by the fireplace in my family room and every time my Phillies fan son visits, he accidentally knocks it onto the floor or the Phanatic is naked! I raised him better than that!
