OK food, good location, poor service. My husband and I went here before the Phillies game on Monday for cheesesteaks and some beers. The cheesesteaks were okay honestly we like Campos better and the beer selection was fine. What really stood out to us was the poor service. Our server dropped off our check while we were eating and then proceeded to come by every 5 minutes asking if we are ready to check out while we still had half full beers. We really felt like we were being rushed out of there meanwhile it was still batting practice and the restaurant was not even that far. I don’t know that I’ll be going back there real soon.

I have eaten at Harry the K’s several times, and am VERY satisfied with the service and the variety of food offered on the menu. My most recent visit was today. I was seated immediately, and my waitress, Maria, arrived within 2 – 3 minutes of my being seated. I placed both my food and drink orders, and both arrived within 10 minutes. Maria was couteous and friendly, and acted as if she really enjoys her job. She stopped at my table several times to make sure that I had everything I wanted/needed. The food was hot and delicious, and the portions were adequate. I look forward to going to Harry the K’s again in the future.

Decent food, but slow service. I read some of the other reviews and thankfully, did not have an experience that was so bad that I would never stop by here again. We mostly stopped by because my friend shared an article with me awhile back that they added poutine to their menu. Poutine! Something that I rarely ever get unless I’m in Canada or go out of my way to find a place in DC. The cheese curds and the gravy and nearly everything about poutine at Harry the K’s brought me back to my childhood. The bacon addition was a bit weird but I got over it really quickly. I mean, bacon! Another weird bit was that all the cheese curds were at the bottom– had to dig them out to get a good bite of everything. The poutine also comes in a souvenir plastic bowl that’s shaped like a Phillies hat. Kinda cool. :) For entrees, I had the beef brisket grilled cheese. I thought it was ok– if I come back I’d be trying something else for sure. Overall, A-OK experience with the exception of the poutine.

Cool vibe, nice staff, interesting food selection, with vegetarian option. Black bean burger was good and the homemade potato chips are excellent. Fries were over seasoned, should of ordered the onion rings. Nice beer selection. Reasonably priced for the ball park. Will return.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were with a party of 8, so the wait was a little long which was expected for a large group. We finally get seat and get a waitress named Sherry. The minute she got to our table, she was rushing us and said we needed to hurry up and order because she had other tables to get to. Although she told us she was very busy, she took 25 minutes to examine a few of my friend’s id’s(Everyone was 25 and older). Sherry told us that she needed to take the id’s back to get scanned because they did not look right. The people we were with offered multiple forms of id, but she rudely said«its not my job to scan the id, but your wasting my time arguing with me. You should have brought your passport.» I asked her if we are wasting her time then take the id’s to the person responsible for scanning them and it will be solved. Then Sherry approaches me and asks me for my license, even though she already took my drink order. It was so bad that other tables asked me when she went away if she was giving us problems with ordering drinks because she did that to them too. So 15 – 20 minutes later our drinks come out and Sherry says they are still waiting to get the id’s scanned. About 20 minutes after that she comes back and says the«scanner» isn’t working, but the id’s looked fake. So she basically chose not to serve two people out of 8 because she didn’t the id’s were real. At this point we asked for the manager. He informed us that they don’t scan the ids so on top of that we were lied to. After getting no where with him, Sherry comes back to our table and says«So I hope you understand now why I can’t serve them.» I just chose to ignore her at this point because we were getting no where and my meal was already ruined. If we did not already order our food I would’ve left. About 45 minutes to an hour into the meal our food finally comes out and the server apologized for Sherry’s attitude. He said«Don’t judge your visit on the way she is and I apologize.» I appreciated what he said, but unfortunately that is my last visit to Harry the K’s and I feel bad for anyone who has to suffer through a meal with Sherry as your waitress Bottom line… the service is terrible, the food isn’t that good and is way overpriced.

My husband, 6 year old daughter, brother-in-law, and I received last minute tickets to a Phillies game on a cold night in April. We decided to eat at Harry the K’s because we needed to eat dinner, we’d never tried it before, but mostly because we had a coupon for a free appetizer. We were seated at a table right away which was as close to the field you can get in their cramped space. We enjoyed the view from our table and were excited to try the fancy flair they put on ballpark food. Right away we could tell our waitress wanted to be somewhere else being that she did not introduce herself and scoffed when we told her we needed more time. The place was practically vacant and the game had just started. We ordered a roast beef sandwich, lamb gyro, kid’s chicken fingers, and nachos for our appetizer. My brother-in-law ordered a soda and the rest of us passed on the $ 4 soft drinks. We had brought bottled water and didn’t want to over do it with our spending. «You’re not ordering drinks?», the waitress asked while rolling her eyes. «No thank you, I think we’re fine for now,» I responded. A minute later my brother-in-law changed his mind about his soda and walked over to tell her to cancel the drink order. She responded by letting him know that there are no outside drinks allowed. Really? Wow. Ok then. My brother-in-law then decided to use the restroom and while passing by our waitress who was choosing down on fries she said to the security guard, «You need to watch them». Really? Were we threatening to her or anyone around us? We were a family, completely sober, hanging out before the game with our 6 year old. After that we saw our waitress one other time. A runner brought out our food and no one came over to see if we were alright or needed anything. We even had to go find our own silverware. The food was mediocre at best. The nachos which they claimed had homemade chips were topped with canned chili! Within 30 minutes of eating my roast beef sandwich I was feeling sick from it. When our waitress did return she did not thank us or give us any sort of warm send off. We will not be returning to Harry the K’s and would have been much better off eating a hot dog from a concession stand. I hope they read these reviews and improve their customer service.

This review is for the«Rooftop Bar» above the restaurant. We learned about the Rooftop Bar during the 2009 series when we had partial season tickets in section 243(Raul’s section of the outfield). 2009 through 2011, there was a time limit on the seating. Now the seats up there are 1st come 1st serve. This actually ROCKS! My tip: buy standing room tickets. Get there early(during batting practice preferably), get a seat at Harry’s Rooftop Bar and you have seating for the duration of the game(as long as you’re there with friends to save your table)! The staff behind the bar and food service area are extremely nice and have come to remember me from my multiple visits. They have Guinness on tap which is a definite plus for my fiancé. I love that it’s a full service bar. We also love the Cheesesteak Spring Rolls that come with a variation of fancy sauce. YUM! If only they had some Bulls BBQ there we would be all set! As with any sporting event, you cannot avoid the high prices for food and beer but Harry’s Rooftop Bar is the kind of place that makes me not mind the prices nearly as much!

I went here on Thursday June 28th before the 1:05 Phillies game. Line was super long, and was way too crowded. When the 4 of us finally got seated, we were put in the very middle of the restaurant. There was no way to get out without bumping into a table(so good thing we went to the bathroom before we came here, so no one had to go while eating). It took a little while for our food, not too long though. I had the Philly cheesesteak with some cheese fries. Cheese sauce was delicious! Fries were ok, they weren’t wonderful. However, the game started and we couldn’t see anything because of all the people that were in front of us! So when we left, we rushed to our seats so we could see the game. Will stick to the ball park concessions next time.

It’s ridiculously crowded, difficult to get into/out of your seat, hard to get to your table, and quite honestly, from here it’s hard to see what’s happening on the field. The food isn’t very good, the portions are small, and it’s of course, way over priced. Other than that I love Harry the K’s! Seriously though, I loved Harry Kalas, but I really wouldn’t suggest coming here unless you have standing room tickets, or if you come pre-game. The Left Field Gate to Ashburn Alley opens two and a half hours before the game starts; at least 30 minutes to an hour before you can go to your seats, so this is the best time to try this place, as it’s not yet crowded, and batting practice will probably be going on, giving you something to watch on the field. It’s just the food is so very MEH. Every other year or so I get suckered into coming here, because it is a great location overlooking the field. But honestly do as I say, not as I tend to forgetfully do. Just keep walking towards right-centerfield, go to Bull’s BBQ, say«hi» to former Phillies great Greg«The Bull» Luzinski, have better food, and if you want to watch the game, take it to your seat.

Based on previous reviews, everyone here is right to some extent. Is this place a pure dining experience? No. is it the best food option in the ballpark? No(that belong’s to Bull’s BBQ). Are they a bit overpriced? Yes(isn’t everything in the ballpark). But, this place has some positive attributes. Maybe the view of the game isn’t perfect, but at least you have a view.(What, do you want to be behind home plate or something? Buy a ticket to the Diamond Club.) Some appetizers are overpriced(the chicken fingers, which are no better than anywhere else in the ballpark). But some are pretty good(the loaded fries are worth it, as are the soups). The Fiesta salad was pretty decent by my standards, although slightly high at 12 bucks it is a healthier option than three hot dogs if you are watching your weight. Yes, the lines do get long, but they die down eventually. You can actually walk up in the second inning sometimes and get seated right away at a table with a half decent view. I have spent nearly the whole game here, and it beats standing up in center field the whole time. After about the 6th inning, they let you hang out as long as you want. If you want a restaurant quality experience, you may be disappointed. But by ballpark standards, they actually do OK. And it’s nice to have your choice of cold beer brought to you at a table in a ballpark.

Waitress unfriendly to small boy. We found out tables at Harry the K’s are only for waited on customers, unlike anywhere else in the ballpark. Ordered a cheesesteak at Harry’s counter for my 8 year old nephew and sat down with it at a table 10 feet away just to be told by a waitress we couldn’t eat it there. I offered to order drinks and she still insisted we move. Go to Bull’s BBQ instead. Harry, you were A+ but the people working at your place are rude.

Not only does this venue charge through the nose for chicken wings, but you gonna have to wait a while for them too. Almost as long as Harry the K’s own widow had to wait for the Phillies to pay royalties for using the Kalas name. They’re all a little slow around here. At Harry the K’s, they advertise their premier sightlines, but your view of the game is slightly marred by the fact that you are 450 feet from home plate, and there are other people sitting/standing in front of you, and hardly half of them are even really watching the game. Don’t mind the 20 to 30 minute line to get in, you might miss an inning or two. Just skip this crowded mess altogether and eat somewhere else … anywhere else for that matter.

Harry the K’s was the birthplace of my obsession with veggie burgers, and the first place I ever encountered a black bean burger. As stated in other reviews, it was crowded and we sat at a less than perfect table in a less than perfect location in the restaurant. That didn’t matter because I was in very good company, and it was Opening Night. I’d have to be a pretty unhappy person to let slow service or a tiny table ruin my experience. The burger was absolutely delicious. It looked and felt like a real hamburger, only more flavorful, and healthier. This continues to be the best veggie burger I’ve ever tasted. My date went for the Cobb Salad, and seemed to enjoy it. Only regret was finding out much later that there is awesome upper deck seating available. I’d push for that next time.

The first time I went to Harry the K’s I had a cheesesteak. It was nothing other than the mediocre Aramark steak that can be purchased for $ 3 cheaper from any old concession stand. I only gave this place a second chance because I had a coupon for a Free Appetizer with purchase of an entrée. There were only three entrees available, and none of them looked too appetizing. I went for the pork tacos. The pork was cold and dry, and it was absolutely awful. $ 16 plus $ 5 for a soda plus tax and tip. This place is a great disappointment given the legend whose name it bears. I would have expected much more. Bottom line: it’s Aramark fried junk with boosted prices for Harry’s name.

Inside of Citizen’s Bank Park, you will not find one McDonald’s, Burger King or Pizza Hut, because they wanted to keep it local. You will find traditional ball park food, such as hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn and cracker jacks, but why bother when you have a ball park that has won numerous awards for it’s stellar cuisine, including one from the Food Network. For three straight years Citizen’s Bank Park has won the Peta award for the best selection of vegetarian food. They are also known for carrying gluten free foods, including hot dogs and buns. Just below the largest LCD scoreboard in major league baseball, you will find one of these gastronomical delights, Harry the K’s Broadcast Bar & Grille. Located on two levels, with the upper level being more of an outdoor patio setting and the menu is not as extensive as the sit down lower level restaurant. Harry the K’s, also has it’s own stadium section and is geared towards group seating’s, which also offers the Porch Package that include your ticket and a $ 10.00 voucher to be used towards food, beverage or merchandise, anywhere in the park. This area is in the left field and at the end of Ashburn Alley, named after Phillie’s legend Richie Ashburn, I have his autographed 16X20 photo. Harry the K’s area is a tribute to the legendary Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Kalas, known for his play by play announcements. His favorite chili, wit beans, is served here and at other places throughout the park. Like McFadden’s, Harry’s has a full bar and is one of the few places you can get more than a beer. The only dilemma with Harry the K’s is their menu has so many choices, that you want to make a three course meal out of it and portions are very filling, which leaves no room for that Philly soft pretzel. Finally learning my lesson here, of over indulgence, I now fill up on my favorite apps. One of those would be the Queso Fundido; melted pepper jack cheese, homemade chorizo, poblano peppers and cumin spiced tortilla chips, the other being the Philly Steak Spring Rolls; spring rolls filled with steak, sautéed onions and cheese served with chipotle dipping sauce. Both are $ 9.00, but if you are into their«famous» wings, you can order a platter of all three for $ 16.00. The food is very good here, whether you have Harry’s chili, appetizers, a huge salad of many varieties, ribs, pasta, a burger or any of their other sandwiches. The corned beef on rye with swiss and cole slaw is very good, although I ask for my slaw on the side. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink. I’ve told you that Harry the K’s has great food and I’ve told you to be careful on how much you order. So giddy up and go!

This place darn near ruined my perfectly good trip to the East Coast with my Dad. If there were a prize for the worst service, worst value and the worst overall customer experience, Harry the K’s would win the triple crown. My dad and I walked into the ballpark right as the gates opened, 90 minutes before the 7:05 pm game. After a leisurely stroll around the ballpark we made it to Harry the K’s by about 5:50. The place was pretty full, but the hostess showed us to our table. It was a tiny, slanted, wobbly, cramped table with no view of the field. We didn’t mind, however, because it wasn’t a 5-star establishment; it was a place to get some food before the game. At a place like this, I only expect two things: cold drinks and fast service. We sat and sat there, and the only interaction we’ve had with the waitstaff was a semi-polite«excuse me, could you move up a little bit, please — I can’t get through» from a waitress serving other customers. After 12 – 15 minutes of waiting, we flagged down the waitress and asked her if we could place an order. «Not my table,» she said, «but let me get your waiter, Steve.» Steve showed up 3 minutes later. He was a gentleman in his 50s with a gray ponytail. He reluctantly took our order(drinks and food), then went over to two of his other tables and took their orders as well. 5 minutes later, the other two tables had their drinks and one — even appetizers. We had nothing, except for 2 plates with ketchup stains on them. 10 minutes later, I called the same waitress who had located Steve for us. I asked her if I could please speak to the manager, because it is absolutely unacceptable. She, being the nice woman she was, told us that«Steve has had an awful day, and his boss yelled at him in the morning. Some people can take it, but Steve can’t. Let me get the drinks for you.» I sure hope Steve is reading this, and he appreciates the coworker that he has. Otherwise, Steve might have been fired that day. She brought our drinks and our appetizer which was NOT worth $ 16, not even by the ballpark standards. 2 small rolls, 4 chicken wings a couple of celery sticks and 4 other tiny things for $ 16!!! Steve walked by our table with the look of disgust on his face. I am not sure what my father or I had done to him, or anyone, to deserve that. He continued bringing food to all the tables but ours. He deliberately ignored our table to the point that I felt I was being discriminated against. We complained to the same waitress one more time, and she got Steve to bring us the food. My dad had the brisket, while I ordered the cheesesteak. The food was average, but pretty decent by ballpark standards. Steve brought my dad a fork and a knife, but nothing for me. I asked him for the utensils, and he asked me «you want a fork and a knife, too?» Dude, it’s not like you donated a kidney to my dad and I asked you for the second one. Unbelievable. After a couple more requests, he brought me another diet coke(«on the house») and a check. The check for our meal(a brisket, a cheesesteak, a $ 16 crappy appetizer, a diet coke and a glass of Yuengling) was $ 50.09. I left him exactly $ 50.10 and walked out in disgust. Anyone can have a bad day – heck, I am having one right now – but there’s no excuse for not doing your job and disrespecting fellow human beings. We did nothing to deserve this, and his behavior was uncalled for. I would have, and should have, complained to the manager. Fortunately for Steve, the game was about to start. Besides, I didn’t want to make a scene with my Dad in attendance.
