Ordered from here on Seamless, under the impression the food would arrive within an hour. Delivery took approximately 2.5 hours. By the time it arrived, my juice was at room temperature, my burrito sandwich was soggy. If I’m going to wait that long for food, it better be worth the wait. In this case, not so much. The cherry on top of a horrid experience was finding egg shell pieces in my sandwich. Note to ‘management’: «Sorry» doesn’t make up for a lousy wait time for lousy food. First and last time I’ll be ordering from this place.

We got delivery via grub hub and everything was great! Got here within the projected time, all was as ordered and we loved the food! I got the beet feta salad with a green juice and hubbs got banana bread French toast. We’ll definitely try them again because I want that breakfast burrito and shrimp quesadilla!

Truly a bad experience. Not only did it take well over an hour to get our food, one of the people in my party didn’t even get his food. On top of that the food wasn’t even that good. Waste of time and money. The staff was barely attentive and unapologetic. If you are planning to eat you should go somewhere else.

The group of 6 I was with went at a relatively quiet time for some breakfast. We waited for a full hour before we got our food, and the staff there hardly paid any attention to us. When the food finally did come out, they only brought out 5 plates. My order had been lost, and they did not apologize or attempt to make it up to us. Lousy service, not worth going to until they get their act together.

Alright so I walk in to this joint thinking I’m going to be disappointed(cafes are generally saturated with pretentious hipsters who just ruin the whole experience for me regardless of how impressive the food might be) But I was relieved to find that it was quite the opposite. Much more down to earth, almost blue collar like. Ya know, the kind of folks that aren’t shy of manual labor. Good shit. Eggs Benedict was next to perfect. Took a little while to get it but I can only attribute that to the chef’s attention to detail ie: The hollandaise sauce was sensational, possessed a very homemade flavor. Coffee was so-so, had a typical diner taste to it but some might find that soothing. We are in a recession after all so it’s silly to be too picky. Bill o’reilly is a parasite. As for an overall rating: 4/5, not because I had to wait but for the simple fact that there are gluten free options on the back of the menu. I almost considered taking a sharpie to it but I established self control. Cheers.

Unfortunately they forgot to put our order into the kitchen. I have to assume because they wouldn’t give us any indication of why it was taking 30min to get our breakfast. We came late Sunday morning when the place was half full. Food was good but I have a feeling that they didn’t have a manager when we were there to make sure things were running smoother.

Turkey & brie sandwich was delicious. The juice was pricy for a sans alcohol drink… fresh squeezed beet, lemon, apple & carrot juice– sounds weird but it really was yummy & I’d get it again. Ordered from grubhub at 8am & it was delivered in just over an hour…& anyone who thinks that’s too long to wait for food to be delivered should probably just go pick it up themselves.

They ran out of Seitan and put tofu on the veggie cheesesteak. Delivery took over an hour and the«cheesesteak» arrived without cheese… really unimpressive

Stopped in tonight for dinner. My burger was seriously delicious! It came with a spinach and cherry tomato salad that was tossed it balsamic vinaigrette. I tasted the chicken penne pasta.(FANTASTIC!!!) I plan on ordering that one next time I’m in. My favorite thing at Café V has always been the café mocha. Tonight it must have been made with love and fairy dust, because it was more awesome than ever! I’ve typically had to get it on the weekends as I have no time to stop early mornings, but now that they have later hours, which I love, this means I can stop in after work. I just might propose to the chef on my next visit!

The wait for food was ridiculously long(1 hour) and the eggs benedicts were very over cooked. The service was inattentive and even though the place was not crowded, the staff seemed overwhelmed.

Could be 4 – 5 stars, I came here on a Saturday late morning. It was my second visit in two months. The first time we came here, we found the place to be in a very convenient location. I had the turkey sandwich with Brie cheese and pears. It was very very delicious. I think they were attentive, but I was talking a lot so I didn’t notice how long we had waited for brunch. We decided to return for brunch on another occasion because they have delicious, reasonably priced food. I ordered the same sandwich during our second visit I, because it was so good. This time around, they took some time to bring our food to us, despite the café not being very crowded. It was just me, my boyfriend, and one other customer. I definitely noticed how long they took, because I was really hungry by the end. When we finally got our sandwich, it was as good as expected — but it took some time to get there. In short: Very clean place, attentive staff, and great food.

Went in to buy a cup of coffee and a bottle of water, and tried to pay with a card, as I didn’t have cash on me. The cashier rung me up and tried to sneak in a credit card transaction fee of 25 cents, without telling me. Like any small business, she would pay 3% for her square transaction fee, which would have cost her 12 cents, so she was trying to surreptitiously profit on my use of a card. No, this isn’t about a quarter. It’s about hidden fees. Total dick move. I won’t go here again.

This is a great neighborhood Resturant that serves amazing breakfast food. Great iced coffee and lots of amazing friendly south Philly style services. Breakfast is a hit! I can’t wait to come back for lunch.

What really set me off about this place was my most recent experience. I placed an order(lox platter) over the phone and they said it would be ready in 10 – 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes after I placed the order and the person at the counter(who I’m going to assume was the manager) said it wasn’t put through. I told her it wasn’t a big deal and not to worry about it if it wasn’t put through. She said, «so you don’t want it?» with a bit of attitude and I said«no thanks, it’s fine.» She then rolled her eyes at me and said she would check downstairs. Apparently, my food was being prepared. When I finally got my food, I took it home and found my bagel extremely soggy. I think my food was never processed and they rushed it when I arrived. I’m sure they just put my bagel in the microwave, tossed my food in the container and called it a day. Overall, the meal was good — even the soggy bagel. I can’t complain about the portion size but I did find it a bit pricey.

Emphasis on the meh. This review is for delivery, so I can’t speak to the atmosphere/service here. I ordered the breakfast burrito, a side of turkey sausage, and a short stack. Aside from the pancakes, which I feel are preeeetty dang hard to screw up, I was sorely disappointed with Café V. The burrito came on a wheat tortilla that tasted chemical-ish and the turkey sausage looked like something served in an elementary school cafeteria. Two stars though since the pancakes were a win.

I haven’t been to Café V in quite some time but I stumbled upon this place around when they opened. I really liked their steeped loose leaf tea. I brought my friends back for brunch a few weeks later and they all really enjoyed their meals. I had the tofu scramble and it was okay. The portion was kind of small. The owner is very sweet and always appreciates and make it a point to take the time to talk to her custimers.

Since I work only a couple blocks away, the ladies in my office decided today was the day to order from Café V for lunch. I did post a good review previously on Café V, and the food and lattes I’ve had were delicous. The owner was there today and she is friendly and helpful. Bad news: one of my coworkers ordered a tuna wrap, and there was literally only a SMIDGEN of tuna. That is not an exaggeration– I am planning on posting the pics right now. That’s alot of money to spend on barely any tuna! And my boss ordered a cheesesteak, which I verified with the young female worker over the phone was a chopped steak. My exact words were«chopped, like the most common cheesesteaks you see here in South Philly” — which she assured me it was. The steak, although tender and very greasy, were actual large chunks of steak. It just wasn’t the appealing texture she was expecting. Overall, only half of the people who ordered today were satisfied, and I felt I eneded to amend my review.

If I could I would give this place 2.5 stars. I usually stop in here whenever I have a scheduled barber-shop appointment a few doors down. My first trip here was in the afternoon around the time they first opened up. It was a rainy day and they were closing up. A women, who I believe is the owner, told me to come on in and they made me a drink. Based on that experience alone I want to love this place but, I can only like it. The reason why I like it: Breakfast alone. My second trip I ordered the French Toast for lunch. and it was pretty good. I ordered a bacon & egg sandwich earlier today. Compared to the lousy egg sandwiches I get for breakfast from the establishments around my job, it was clearly a step up. The reason why I can’t love it: The drinks are bad. The coffee is blah. My Americano blah. When all day breakfast food is your staple, your coffee can’t be subpar.
