I love crab platters but it’s very hard to find places that are cheap in center city. I made the very long trek to West Philly for Crab v Lobster. I called ahead and the person I spoke to was very nice and friendly. When I got there I saw one person at the register and I must say she knew something about customer service. She was getting a serious attitude from the person in front of me and remained patient and friendly and from what I saw I’d say that probably happens a lot there. Overall the food was good. It was a very large platter for the price. Only $ 25. The crabs were flavorful. The shrimp were soft, almost mushy. They tasted good, but the texture was weird. Overall a good experience. I would go back.

Ghetto, country, hood, ratchet. I have never in all the 27 years I’ve been alive on this Earth seen a more trifling business. It’s sooooooo dirty, I visited here and it was flies all over the place. Living, dead and dying. All the crabs in the case that said ”live” where dead. Exposed wiring for the electrical box that illuminates the sign outside. ridiculous, If the conditions where not bad enough, it seems to be a favorite gathering place of crack heads, whinos, prostitutes, bums and persons of general ill repute. The customer service is abysmal. It’s a young girl that always answers the phone and she is the epitome of a West Philly Yard Bird. Mean, ratchet, rude, stank attitude and not very well spoken. The people will put you on hold or not, to have a whole conversation about random nothingness or to talk smack about others. I think they also do something illegal with the accepting EBT for Hot Foods. The last time I checked you couldn’t buy hot fried chicken wings and hot fried fish with Food Stamps. An absolute hole in the wall.

Sit down restaurant– this is absolutely not that. An inexpensive way to get your hands on a seafood feast– well yes it absolutely is! My brother raved about this place and insisted that I stop in when I was last in Philly. It’s conveniently located right outside of the 52nd train station. I will admit that this corner is a bit grimy, but if you are ok with that, then stop in. The staff is pretty friendly and you’ll have lots of combo options to choose from. Like your seafood fried? Steamed? Whichever you like is served here. Quite honestly most of these combos or platters can likely be shared btw. 2 people. I had a steamed platter that included 6 Maryland crabs, at least 14 shrimps, broccoli, 2 potatoes, a 20 oz drink and 2 corn on the cobs… all for $ 16. What’s not to love! Is this the tastiest meal ever? Probably not, but I will happily indulge in this feast again. You should too! 1 star off for basically being limited to take out only.
