Fresh seafood, cheap prices, awesome customer service and tasty desserts; what more do I need!?! I had an order of Salmon nuggets, Fries and Steamed Broccoli. The nuggets were very light, the broccoli had garlic butter dripped on top and the fries are beer battered. Yummy yummy yummy. My bro had Flounder, Broccoli and Mac & Cheese. I’m not a big fan of their mac and cheese but love that their seafood is not heavily breaded. Thread lightly with the desserts… I can only confirm that the strawberry cheesecake is delicious, everything else, ehhh, idk. Oh and you can’t eat in; I mean, you can stand and eat by their counter but that’s like eating at a bus stop! =|

52nd Street has plenty of options for take out/delivery yet some are better than others. Mr. Hook’s never disappoints me for consistently tasty fried tilapia or jumbo shrimp. Yesterday my brother and I shared a large Jumbo shrimp platter with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. The shrimp where HUGE, crisp and flaky. The collard greens were ok. I can make them pretty well myself so these were not what a soul foodie would enjoy but they are ok if you are watching calories. They are are coarsely cut greens, cooked slowly with a little kick(I loved the crushed red pepper spiciness). The mac & cheese was pretty much as you would expect… not your mama’s. I am more into homemade mac & cheese but if you like Kraft’s cheesy mac then this will work for you. Ok so a few other tips: 1. Remember this is a place where it is probably best to get simple fried items. So don’t try to make things too complicated with the broiled options. I just don’t think their seafood is that great to stand on its own. 2. Philly folks, I searched the menu high and low, I asked and to my surprise… NOFISHHOAGIES. Three letters WTF??? 3. On another note, just like you never ever buy cheesesteaks outside of Philly, you never ever buy crabcakes outside of Maryland. You’ve been warned! 4. Delivery is usually a good idea but it can take about 45 minutes to an hour. Each time I’ve had food delivered they get it right and it arrived hot. 5. The platters are very large share with a friend and the prices seem more reasonable.
