The food here is okay, with big portions. Simple food and atmosphere. Complimentary chips and salsa. Mexican beers.

I work around the corner and it’s the best Mexican food in walking distance. I have tried them all and This spot is the best. The servers are friendly and always attentive. It can get a little busy at lunch but they always accommodate to wag table. The crab tacos are okay, not the best I’ve had but I would order them again. The drinks are strong as well,

Craving Mexican food. Was greeted immediately when we can through the door. The service is good and fast. The food came out quickly and hot. I order the vegetarian quesadillas and it was ok but would have been better with some seasoning. I added the free salsa and it was delicious. The ingredients are fresh. Also ordered the the chicken taco salad. The dressings are sparse since they only have blue cheese, ranch and creamy Italian in little packets. I also ordered a house side salad and the ingredients are fresh. The free chips and salsa are a winner. The salsa is good and not to spicy. I ordered house sangria and sent it back since it taste bitter. I would return to the restaurant for the vegetarian options. I really like the menu. The restaurant has good energy from the patrons without imposing. Depending on the night you can sit where you like.

This place is really fun and great for big groups! You can bring your own tequila and everything. Came in for dinner recently with 6 other people and it was a great. I had the chicken enchiladas with some spicy green sauce. Most of the dinners came with a little side of rice and beans which were great too All the staff was very accommodating and seemed used to dealing with large groups of people

This restaurant is located in Center City and a few blocks from my office. I think I visited many years ago, but didn’t recall anything specifically about food, service, etc. Well, this visit made up for my absentee mind. I went for lunch with a friend and the first thing I noticed was the awesome lunch menu and most of them were under $ 10. We decided to to get(2) dishes and share them, the portions were large and the food was ok. The staff were attentive, service was prompt and I think I will be back for many more lunches.

This place serves absolute swill. Streak is chewy, chips are stale, everything tastes like it came straight from a can. Absolute bottom of the line Mexican food, slightly north of Taco Bell in terms of authenticity. Everything is the same four ingredients rearranged in different ways. I got the juevos rancheros — it was two fried eggs with salsa on them.

I enjoyed my meal here. Mexican food should be this simple. Wet burrito with steak, over cheese and fried beans. Not the best in town, probably gets some boost because of its prime location, though. Affordable too. If this were in my hood, I’d probably go when I was feeling like not cooking. But I honestly think one can produce this food at home easily.

This is my favorite mexican place in the city! The food is always good, the portions are big, prices reasonable, and great service. The décor is fun to look at and the restaurant is always well attended but never packed.

If you want no frills Mexican food that’s very affordable, you should definitely come here! El Azteca is my go to place when I have a craving. They also now have a liquor license and make delicious frozen margaritas. And they have happy hour where they are only $ 4 from 4 – 6 everyday, win! I brought my mom here when she was in town, and she was also a fan. She had the chicken tacos which she really liked. I had the marisco combo, which is fish and shrimp with green pepper, mushrooms, onions, and melted cheese that you use to stuff into tortilla shells, kind of like fajitas but not served on a skillet. They went a little heavy on the cheese, but it was still very good. And it came with a side of guac and pico, which I appreciated. The chips and salsa here are very addictive, so we obviously ordered a second helping. And I also ordered a second margarita, because the first was so good!

The food here is okay. I only come back because I love the service and they have great lunch specials! They are very simple when it comes to their food, but still good! Complimentary chips and dip. And you pay the bill at the counter.

Really great food and service. The Jumbo Burrito was in fact jumbo and delicious. We also had the Jefe Especial which was excellent as well. Add in some $ 5 Margaritas and a couple baskets of chips and it was an excellent meal. Our waiter was friendly and responsive without hovering. All in all, a great place to go in Philadelphia.

I am struggling — I really want to give this place an excellent rating but really cant. It used to be a 4 star place, based on food quality and price. I have been here a few times but can’t say I love it as much as I did a few years ago. Last time we came here I was a little disappointed. We got a side of the guacamole and it did not exactly taste very fresh. Then next up I got the chicken salad and it was a massive salad(no way one person could finish it) so the portions were marvelous, but the quality was just borderline ok. They even bring you sauce packets for your salad — I think it would be easier if they just give it to you in a cup instead of a packet, especially for a sit down place. Then we got the flan as a dessert. The flan was pretty good so no complaints there! The service was pretty good as well.

Really confused by all the good reviews. This place is bad, but I heard they changed owners a bit ago so maybe that’s why it’s bad. Tables and menus are sticky. Service is inattentive. They didn’t even give us sharing plates when we ordered appetizers which got messy. The food is sub-par. Guac is straight out of some bulk bucket of green goop. It tasted edible, just by fresh. Rice was stale and salty. Chicken enchiladas were okay. Edible, but wrapping chicken in corn tortillas then dumping bland sauce and cheese isn’t hard to do. Went with a group of 10. No one enjoyed their meal. Plenty of leftovers no one took home. I heard the Sangria was not worth it. $ 10 margarita mix if you BYOT. The only decent thing was the complementary chips because everything else was bad. I’ll never be back. There are so many better Mexican places in the city!

Got take out here using a grub hub 10% off promo — this restaurant is pickup only! Service is good — I ordered the chimichangas and I asked for everything separately, and they accommodated accordingly. The portion was ginormous– I was ridiculously full after one chimichanga, and I still had a whole other one left along with a full plate of retried beans and chips and salsa. Price was 14 $, but I think I got my money’s worth. The food was deliciously messy; the guacamole, melted white cheese, grilled chicken all blended together beautifully.(Looked kinda gross but tasted amazing)

I was here with about a dozen coworkers one evening. We were seated easily enough, so that was cool. But the guac made me sick, and so did one of our waiters. No one enjoyed their food, and a couple left feeling ill. We were also drinking, not particularly in excess, and the pours/contents were inconsistent. Given the noisy atmosphere, I had a hard time understanding a word the quiet waiter with an accent said. The other guy seemed like a slime ball, but I could tell what he was saying at least. Thinking it was one person’s birthday, he gave her the house sombrero to wear and presented a funnel cum corona. Gross. My friend declined and another coworker offered not to waste the ‘opportunity.’ The waiter quickly dumped the entire bottle of toilet water straight down the funnel, causing said coworker to choke and sputter corona all over the place. You’d think that would be enough of a party foul on this waiter’s part. But he continued to try pumping us up, persisted in repeatedly asking my friend why she wouldn’t chug the beer. Eventually, I told him to back off. What and why people imbibe is their business. He also began leering at others among our party. Everything was just mediocre and overshadowed by the presence of this misplaced wannabe party-planner guido guy. Then he took absolutely forever to bring us a check.
