Insomnia Cookies

The cookies are good. This I cannot deny. They are a good portion; one will fill up your stomach enough that it does the trick of satisfying any sweet cravings you have. If you like mint I suggest giving the Double Chocolate Mint a try. It’s hard to find a good mint flavored cookie, especially one that is freshly baked, so I was pleased with the end result when I received my order. The regular chocolate chip cookies are also good.
However, they are extremely overpriced for essentially being just cookies. I get it, I get it — you can get them late into the night and you’re paying for the charm and convenience of it. Additionally, if you look at the nutritional information they are nearly identical to most grocery store brand cookies in ingredients. Almost identical, except they put a ton more butter in. Not expecting this, I experienced severe stomach cramps and gastric distress due to the richness of the cookies. Good problem to have? Maybe, depending on how you look at it.
So overall I like them. At least the cookies are tasty, but I’m not sure I want to go through that much pain just to ingest them again. Those with weak stomachs beware.

Yummy! This location is a food truck parked outside of Drexel luring students to purchase cookies when they are at the point of desperation while studying for tests/​finals. Open 24 hours! Can’t go wrong with any flavor. Loved the snicker doodle

Decided to stop by their truck on a recommendation from friend and it was amazing. Just went with an assorted 12 cookies and two s’mores cookies. Do yourself a favor and stop by. The cookies are fresh and hot and so good.

I am not new to Insomnia, but as I was driving on Market Street last night and saw the truck parked on 33^rd out of the corner of my eye, I did get a little happy. 10 minutes later I found myself parked, getting out of my car, and walking towards the beacon… I mean the cookie truck. Though the young woman working the truck gave me a bit a ‘tude, it did not deter me from the deliciousness I knew awaited me. Now is the $ 2.95 cost for the deluxe cookies a new price all around or is that just for the truck? I don’t mean to sound cheap, but I just wanna know. Anywho, I bought two, they were warm, I ate them, and I was glad. The end,

My favorite treat on campus.
The best cookies. Always warm, always fresh. I haven’t been disappointed yet. The classic chocolate chip is to die for and the snickerdoodle is delicious. All around, very friendly and warm service. A little pricy, but it’s worth it.

The first time I heard of Insomnia cookies, I was studying in the library. My classmates suggested us ordering insomnia cookies because… we’re all exhausted from studying. AND THEY DELIVER? I mean, this is cookies at its best. IT’S BEST!
My all time guilty pleasure is the s’more cookies. They are bigger and thicker than my palm. Definitely not something you should over-​indulge. Or should you?! If you’re around Penn, you must try their addicting cookies. No brainer.

I just loveeee the cookie here!!! Warm chewy tons of chocolate that melts immediately in your mouth! I love the idea of serving a warm — out of the oven cookie and yet this is the best cookies i ever had lol

You can do better.
During my first two years here, you were great. Prompt delivery, warm cookies, friendly service, the works. Your cookies are absolutely delicious. In fact, you should thank your lucky stars that your cookies are STILL delicious, because they’re the only reason I’m giving you two stars instead of one.
Tonight, we ordered cookies at 8:05 p.m. I was upstairs in my room with a box of cold cookies no earlier than 12 a.m. How did this happen, exactly? Apparently our first blunder was «not answering the phone» the first time the delivery service came around. Yeah, right. You were calling the wrong phone number. Clearly there is something wrong with your online interface (which is how we ordered the cookies initially), because entering the correct phone number and triple-​checking that we entered the correct phone number somehow still failed us.
Not that big of a deal. Sometimes websites are coded weirdly. I can respect that. We called about an hour and a half after ordering, we straightened out the situation, and we were informed that the cookies would be on their way shortly. So why did they show up another two and a half hours late? This, combined with numerous reports of poorly-​treated employees, makes me reluctant to order again.
«Okay, Ari, we’re sorry we messed up; here’s a coupon for ten percent off or something.» No, sorry, I won’t settle for that. Why not? Because last time I ordered, my cookies were delivered an hour later than I expected. When I called to ask where they were, I was promised that a discount would arrive by email, which I could use on a subsequent purchase. And that email never showed up.
Get it together.

Everything is soo good. The temptation will ruin your quest to eat healthier. But man do I love their cookies and brownies.

I had a late night craving for a brownie so I decided to venture to Insomnia. I get up to the window and 2 dudes tell me that they’ve been waiting 30 minutes for a cookie. Thinking it’s a joke, I knock on the window and wait. No one shows up. I look in the truck and see the «cookie salesman» in the back of the truck on his cellphone! He had the unmitigated gall to walk up to the window while he was STILL on his phone. Feeling irked and jerked I left (Death to bad customs service) Don’t be surprised if I check in at the Insomnia downtown.

Perfect late night snack. Double Chocolate Mint is the bomb.
Also, one night they delivered a box of cookies to a dorm at 2am. That’s what’s up!

These cookies are delicious! Thanks to an in-​truck cookie warmer (no lie) the cookies are ALWAYS warm. They bake them so they are nice and gooey in the center, but have crispy edges — they are literally perfection in a cookie.
Personal favorites are chocolate chunk (I’m somewhat of a traditionalist) and peanut butter (to die for). It’s brutal taking classes at Drexel’s main campus, because this truck is parked right outside the library — talk about temptation!
My only complaint (and reason for not giving it 5 stars) is that they are kind of expensive. $ 1.30 for a cookie that’s relatively small — not exactly a stellar deal. Still, they’re too damn good to pass up, so I’ll continue giving them all my money.

Love love love me some warm cookies and Insomnia really delivers in warmth and flavor. I’ve tried the chocolate chunk, peanut butter and mint chocolate chip which were all delish. The mint chocolate chip was like eating a warm, soft and chewy Girl Scout thin mint cookie. I’m glad I don’t live near this place.

How wrong can you go with cookies? I believe that one poor experience does not constitute a poor review (see below, Jenn), especially if you’ve have previous experiences were good. You suck, Jenn.
I think Insomnia’s cookies are delicious, crunchy around the edges and gooey goodness inside. The chocolate literally oozes and drips when you pull the cookie apart. That’s my favorite kind of cookie! It’s so hard to make the perfect cookie, so I gladly appreciate their hard work. Lets just say that if this food truck was a god, people would be giving their first born as sacrifices. The cookies are always warm and they’re constantly making fresh ones because they’re very busy. They also have a lot of different variations of cookies and brownies to get your fix.
The location is great with it being literally right outside the Drexel library. The only thing that I do wish was different was, being a Drexel student, they accepted Drexel Dollars.
Now if we could all take a moment of silence for all the cookies that have been mercilessly devoured. Amen.

Having been a Drexel student, I’m very familiar with this truck and the Insomnia brand. Tonight’s visit to the cookie mobile did not live up to my memories.
Sure the cookies (yes, plural) were ooey gooey fatty goodness, but I feel like the quality has taken a dive over the past few years.
I purchased two (don’t judge) deluxe cookies: the S’mores and the Reese’s Peanut Butter cup. The Reese’s was OK, but the S’mores was incredibly disappointing! I chose it because I thought it would have a crunch element, bits of graham crackers? Nothing. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that graham crackers were incorporated into the cookie, but the apparently lengthly time spent in the cookie warmer must have moistened the purpose out of those tiny little crumbs. Super big let-​down there, Insomnia.
But why only three stars? Because it’s hot as balls in Philly right now. For a truck that exists on the purpose of running late into the night, one would think that asking for a bottle of water at only 11pm in the middle of the summer wouldn’t be such a task. Cookie man was out of water AND out of milk. In fact, out of beverages altogether.
Boo!!!
Bottom line: would I eat them again? Well, yeah. They’re cookies on the go. Duh. (But never, EVER would I order the S’mores cookie again. Ever.)
Do yourself a favor, though, and trek into Center City to the shop. If my memory serves me correctly, they warm the cookies up per order. BIG difference.

I’m a terrible, terrible person for saying this: the Insomnia cookie truck was a selling point to getting me to go to University City for a higher degree. I mean, yea, world-​known university, great academics, top notch professors and a degree that would most likely keep me employed consistently.
But the cookies …
Sadly for me, I miss out on the full selection of cookies because I do not arrive until the PM when more traditional daytime students have already had the opportunity to scarf up the goods.
The snickerdoodle is awesome. Can’t go wrong with chocolate chip. Great service. And even getting the cookies so many hours after they’ve opened, they’re still all fresh and perfect.

I was first introduced to this while visiting Philly. We were walking around near Drexel and spotted this truck. I tried the S’mores cookie and it was delicious! It was very very goey and thus very messy but it was hot and chocolatey, just what I wanted on a winter day.
I later ran into several of their other store locations throughout my trip and once walked by a new location that was giving away FREE cookies. I tried their chocolate chip, macademia nut, and oatmeal raisin but those weren’t as good as their S’mores. I would say that’s the only cookie worth getting. By the way… they deliver…
AND they have ice cream so you can make ice cream cookie sandwiches

Dear Insomnia Cookies,
I hate you and I hate your cookies. Why? Because they have made me fat. Very, very fat. They are so good that I can’t just eat one. So I don’t. I eat more than one. And I get fat. I eat them on successive days and I get fat. If you made your cookies like Entenmann’s or Hostess’s cookies, I would not get fat because I’d eat one and say «Mehhh!!!» and be done with it. But you have to make them with so many good ingredients and so many delectable varieties like your snickerdoodle and white chocolate macadamia, not to mention your jumbo cookies like my favorite, the peanut butter chocolate… that is insane. Cookies shouldn’t be this good. And they’re warm and fresh out of the oven when I get them! That is insane. I hate you. Stop making me fat.

who exactly came up with this idea and why don’t we have anything like this in Norfolk? This is a truck… that makes cookies… and sells them on the street… in the middle of Drexel campus… what more can you possibly want? O yah… they’re open until midnight…
Triple chocolate chunk and S’mores are a must. I don’t think they take credit cards. Don’t expect to diet if you live near this vehicle (that’s a weird combination of words I never thought I’d say). Also, re adjust your insulin when you come by.
