Where Chinese people cut my hair…
Sadly, my parents never sent me to Chinese school, so I have no idea what’s going most of the time and the entire encounter is comprised of hand gestures and muttering «not too short!» which usually gets the job done.
Rundown:
Walk to the back and get your hair washed and conditioned. Also included is a nice scalp massage.
Some question in Chinese asking you who cuts your hair… just nod your head and say «English»
Try to figure out which stylist you like and pick a chair
Hope for the best
Second hair wash to get all the loose hair out
Pay $ 11 and whatever tip you like. Cash only.
Outcome:
Usually great. The kids on the block haven’t laughed at me yet…
